This is what I meant by a letdown. Come into a game unfocused after an emotional high and not ready for a good opponent. Semantics. I really didn't mean it to become the focal point of the thread. Brossart shot poorly, probably because HC played great defense. Gotta stay out of foul trouble also. Hopefully Saunders is okay. Congrats to HC on the win and good luck in the All A.

Absolutely. Holy Cross obviously played great defense. Against a te like Holy Cross, Brossart needed to be ready to play, and I don't think they were. It being after the CCHS, I called it a letdown. Meant nothing else by it.

Once again, not taking anything away from Holy Cross. They are a very good team.

No, not by my thinking. I can do my own thinking, thanks. I understand that you often like to apply the A=B and B=C so A=elephant argument, but they're two different cases. Brossart vs Holy Cross is an out of region game. Holy Cross is a good, not great team. Brossart needed to come into the game emotionally prepared, they did not. Letdown. Holy Cross was obviously the better team last night. CovCath vs. NewCath is a battle between two of the top teams in a region. NewCath is a top fifteen team in the state. The two situations are not comparable. More applicable if CovCath were going into Scott. Brossart had a letdown. That's all I was saying.

Why doesn't it? Brossart's talent alone can carry them against St. Henry or Lloyd. Not so against HC. Going into a tough environment after a big game, how does it not make sense?

Good luck with Mustang on this one. Not surprised at the score. A letdown after a big win against a good team at a tough place to play.

It was both ways. Burns mask was pulled and Trentman was abused also.

Holy Cross is a tough place to play, and the stangs could have a let down after the CCHS game. Don't think the HC press will affect Brossart like it did last year with the way Uebel and Jennings are playing. Burns vs. Campbell will be a good matchup. Burns goes to the high post in half court sets and can beat Campbell off the dribble. I like Brossart by 5 if they handle the press and atmosphere, could go either way and wouldn't be surprised though.

Playing without Holbrook, who IMO is their best player right now, removes a lot of that talent though.

I don't know about that. NewCath is pretty darn good. Congrats to Justin, awesome accomplishment. Great job by the entire Mustangs. Pumped for them. Impressed with the younger McGovney. Holbrook's solid, needs to stay composed, but he's young. Really happy for the Mustangs.

No secret what will happen this game. Camels will pack it in a zone, maybe occasional full court zone pressure, and hope Brossart's not hitting. On offense, it'll be the Camels doing a bunch of high picks and one on one ball with Mcgovney and Holbrook. Never know how these rivalries will turn out. However I like the Stangs in a very close game.

I don't know that Brossart would blow out GRC, but I agree. Face some different teams that you won't see. Unfortunately though, Brossart and GRC haven't played since the '05 season if I'm not mistaken, so I was somewhat looking forward to seeing the matchup.

Mustang, in the long run, this one doesn't mean much. A learning experience and move on. Hurts to lose but can't win them all.

Just can't do that. Can't win games against good teams shooting like that. Having said that, Brossart shot very poorly, and they were still there in it against a top team in Cincinnati. This team can be very, very good. They're just very good right now.

Free throws absolutely killed them. Two solid teams. Very well coached.
