  1. There are a few on here that act like a few cuss words around kids by coaches is going to turn them into foul mouth street kids. While most of us know that 90% of a childs character is developed at home. I realize that for the most part players look up to their coaches, and as I have said on here I do not agree with it being the norm. I have raised 3 fine sons and coached one of them and I really don't think them hearing me cuss every once in a while affected them in the least.
  2. Thanks. So you hate Carroll just a little more than us.
  3. We're talking about football coaches cussing aren't we?
  4. Political correctness is really starting to wear me out. As has been stated on here and, I agree doing it all the time is not neccesary, and it does tend to fall on deaf ears. Our head coach seldom uses profanity, but when he does the players know he means business.
  5. I love the way these threads head in every direction. Our excuse for losing to FC this year was on the night we played they were better. I didn't here anyone saying other fields weren't muddy, it's just the four inches of standing water that tends to be a problem. I saw one game was postponed until Saturday and I would guess if coach Poynter didn't think the field conditions favored his chance at an upset it may have been postponed. Tired of beating this dead horse.
  6. I'm happy with the win, and to this point I've supported coach Archer, but when it seems every team we play their QB has a carreer day it's getting a little old.
  7. Come on True Blue just because we complained about your field you don't have to turn your back on us.
  8. Sounds like you've got the excuse thing all wrapped up to me,and yes we have played at Carroll and Owen after rain and Trimbles field is by far the worst.
  9. The ball didn't try to float away last night did it ? I've been there when it has. Not joking. Nothing against the Trimble program is meant here, but it absolutely has the worst field in this part of the state when we get heavy rains like we've had here lately. Congratulations to Trimble on a winning regular season, and good luck next week verses Danville.
  10. I'm not just talking about bad field conditions, but terrible as will be the case at alot of games tonight. I've always felt it favored the underdog, because usually if you're the dog it means the other team has more speed. I think water and mud tend to negate speed thus increasing the chances for an upset.
  11. I really didn't read very many post on this thread, so I may be repeating something already said. When I ran the youth league in our town I would explain to the cheerleading parents about the cost involved in suiting up players and paying officails and striping the field and so on and so on. My last statement would always be we can play football without cheerleaders, but it's kinda hard to cheer without a game. Our high school cheerleaders are pitiful anyway. I don't think they've cheered at an away game this year. This thread was not about whether cheerleading is a good activity, but should they get part of the gate money.
  12. If you have a district that is almost always tougher than the other wouldn't it be more fair to play the other district. That way you get the best two teams playing for the regional title. I also like the ideal af getting to play different teams.
  13. Thought Brooks was the defensive coordinator for the Rams?
  14. EXACTLYa 20 point win on the field should speak for itself.
  15. I have no problem with the four teams going, but sure don't like the change to playing your own district in the first two rounds.
  16. Danville's oppositions record is 42-47,and Frankforts is 44-38,and they beat Danville by 20. Still ranked two spots behind them, doesn't make much sense.Like has been stated on here won't matter starting next week anyway.Just would be nice to have your kid's recognized for the win.
  17. Raceland big, Paris backsdown against stiff competition.
  18. No disrespect to anyone on here, but I have a son who is an Army Ranger and he has been to war and probably will again. These are high school football games we're talking about. I understand the analogy, but it's a little overplayed in my humble opinion.
  19. Both teams, if they make it to the second round will have the same amount of pressure lose and you go home.
  20. I would have to agree Cameron did an outstanding job,as did the entire defense. Danville's QB didn't have a whole lot of time to throw most of the night . Just a tremendous effort on everyones part. It's now time to come back down to earth and take care of Trimble next week.:thumb:
