  1. PROJECT A MATCHUP at Kenton (Independence, KY) [2007] Kenton (Independence, KY) 28, [2007] Russell (KY) 21 at Russell (KY) [2007] Kenton (Independence, KY) 28, [2007] Russell (KY) 22 at neutral site [2007] Kenton (Independence, KY) 28, [2007] Russell (KY) 22 Cal preps has Russell losing by a TD. Massey has Russell losing 31-28 Should be a good one.
  2. Absolutely true. The only team that will be close IMO will be 6A Simon Kenton and we have yet to see how that game will play out.
  3. The way the Independent poll works is JC lost first so if Russell lost after they did and they have the same record Russell would stay at the top. Nice try but the Independent super 7 poll is based on nothing more than records. As far as I have seen there is nothing scientific to it.
  4. I said possibly Boone because I know nothing about them at all. I agree with Central and I also agree with Russell's schedule being week. The only thing that I am saying with all of this is that Russell is a contender from the East.
  5. First of all let me say  Even if the Rams were to beat Russell that would only be one loss and it would not knock them off the top spot.
  6. I am just not seeing where 3A Belry's win over 2A Corbin is all that impressive. They beat 6A Paul Dunbar which is 2-2 They Beat 1A Bethlehen which is 1-3 They beat 5A South Laurel which is 2-3 They beat 2A Knott County Central which is 0-4 Corbins wins have came against opponenets that have a combined record of 5-12. That does not make Belfrys win a stellar accomplishment in my book. Maybe there is more to it. Mason's opponents have a combined record of 6-18. Mason did not win the game as stated above. Yes they are 3-0 in the district but have faced East and West Carter and Lewis co. Not the strongest schedule. Russell has handled East and West and should handle Lewis without much problem.
  7. I don't know that this Friday night will be as much of a test as Mason and Simon Kenton. Those will be the measuring sticks with Mason being a needed win in the district.
  8. No argument about Central. Just stating that Russell could very well be mentioned with Belfry, Sheldon Clark and Mason for tops in the east.
  9. Ashland, Boyd, Greenup, East Carter and West Carter. I realize that the schedule is somewhat weak. Belfry has beaten 2 teams with winning records. One of which has an extremely weak schedule. Mason lost to Boone and beat Lewis, East and West Carter and Paris. Nothing terribly tough there. Except for possibly Boone. Sheldon Clark has only beaten teams with a losing record except for Fairland Oh which I have no clue about. None of the 4 mentioned have a tough schedule so far. So the East is wide open.
  10. Russell at 5-0 and ranked in the AP polls towards the top at least deserves a mention in this thread as well. BTW Thanks for the PM the other day. I really got a kick out of it.
  11. That is the kind of thing that rating cannot control nor factor in. I wish a speedy recovery for the injured players.
  12. According to the Massey ratings for all six classes Russell is ranked 33rd with a strength of schedule of 128 which is weak. LCA is ranked 49th with a strength of schedule of 140 which is weaker. Based on statistics alone looks like Raceland will face at least one more team that is stronger in the regular season. This week Raceland is only a 10 point underdog so if they can contol the ball and limit penalties they may be able to pull this one out.
  13. Russell's Tyler Jones. Hard to bring down running the bootleg and will absolutely lay the wood to you on defense.
  14. I certainly hope all the fans, coaches and teams feel that way.:sssh:
  15. Massey has SW as a 9 point underdog. Calpreps has SW as a 7 point underdog. Should be an interesting game.
  16. Son of a gun. They did because they had class AA with Mercer number 1 at 3-1 and Russell number 2 at 4-0 with the dates of august 07 until September 08. I guess this thread needs to be closed.:creepy:
  17. Is it me or are the Massey ratings totally screwed up this year. It still has everyone in 4 classes.:creepy: Maybe an e mail is in order? http://www.masseyratings.com/rate.php?lg=hsf&sub=KY
  18. I would assume so because he was back in towards the end of the Ashland game. But we all know that sprains are worse after you have a night to sleep on them.
  19. I don't know the answer to how he is doing but I did come across some interesting stats from the Red Devil website. I can't get the site up right now but as of yesterday he was leading the team in: Tackles, Rushing yardage, passing yardage, and sacks. If I can get the site to come up later i will try to verify.
  20. I don't know the number but I can tell you he plays for Ashland....
  21. You seem to have some sort of issue with all Russell fans and I take offense to that. I just think that if he has a problem with the assigning secretary then he should address it with the proper individuals and not broadcast it over the airwaves. Plus he really should check his microphone during breaks....:sssh:
  22. That is far from all that was said. He complained through the 4th quarter and into the post game show about how ludacris it was and he even started to bring the clock operator into it at well.
  23. That was my first thought. I don't know though he got hammered many times by Tyler Jones tonight. He may have actually been injured.
  24. He did make a comment about never having that officiating crew again. Maybe someone took that the wrong way?
