Somewhat shocking to most Belfry fans also. Yes we thought we had a really good team but havent been tested too much and thought this would be the game we got our first real test. Pikeville has just been dominated on both sides of the ball.

Probably a combination of Belfry just being a little more physical on the O-line and Pikeville not being discipline enough on the mis-direction plays of Belfry. On a side note, everyone thought Pikeville's problem would be silly penalties but Belfry has actually been penalized 5 more times than the Panthers.

Well, Pikeville is alot better than they are playing tonight. Seems to be playing very sloppy tonight along with some questionable play calling on 3rd and shorts. This Belfry defense is proving to be something special and could be the main cog in a run to a state championship.

Belfry 7 Pikeville 0 End of the 1st Quarter Looks like the defensive battle most of us thought.

Just not sold on Breathitt at this time. Until i see them play a team that is consider a top contender I cant see them higher than at least 5th in AAA. Same goes for Sheldon Clark. I believe Belfry or Russell will win the east and I see them playing Central or Paducah at this time. If I had to pick at this time I would go with a Belfry/Central matchup on the carpet in December but it wouldnt surprise me to see a Russell/Paducah matchup.

I agree that alot of Belfry fans are a little over confident going into this game. I, too, am a little over confident but mainly because i just feel Belfry is somewhat better than Pikeville at this stage in the season. I guess fans can be over confident or somewhat cocky but the deciding factor will be are the Pirate players also feeling this way. I think not, due to a very good coaching staff who will have them prepared for this game physically as well as mentally. Should be a one for the ages and may turn out to be the best games yet at the new stadium.

Very seldom do we see a blowout in this game thus a 35 pt victory by either team is unlikely. I do feel that Belfry is the better team and playing at home I say Belfry by 10.

Well the top 5 teams in 3A are from the eastern half of the state, now that makes for some competitive and interesting playoff matchups.

Expected outcome, East Ridge was never going to threaten SC in this one

Not really but it sure makes it more interesting when the Shelby Valley fans honestly think they have a shot every year.

Next week could be Belfry's first test of the year. Shelby Valley totally destroyed Knott Co. and will be undefeated next week when they play the Pirates. I know we've all heard it every year but "could this be the year" for the Wildcats.
