  2. I will have them as soon as the LitRatings and CantrellRatings are posted. If I'm not mistaken both are posted on Monday so I hope to have them up Monday evening but that all depends on how my classes go BUT they will definitely be posted by Tuesday.
  3. This is a link to the game story: http://www.dailyindependent.com/articles/2005/11/12/sports/01torn12.txt This is a link to the pre-game story: http://www.dailyindependent.com/articles/2005/11/10/sports/01ashland10.txt
  4. I know that there were a few games in which the predictions were completely WRONG but there was more than a fair share that were really good. I counted that there were 15 games that inished within 7 points of what the final score was AND there were 5 of those 15 that finished within 2 points of the difference. There were also 3 games that were within 1 point of the final. I was going to go with a 3 point advantage for the home team next week but I think that this way with the 6 point advantage worked really well. Please note that this is not necessarily my picks but it was something that I did for the heck of it to see how close the games would be. I will post my regional championship ratings around Wednesday.
  5. As promised, I am now going to update everyone as to how the games actually went compared to the simple rating system that I posted yesterday. To update those that didn't get to read that thread yesterday, what I did was take the LitRatings and CantrellRatings and added them together, divided by 2 to get an average power rating. I then took each team in their respective game and found the difference between the two. Once I did that I added 6 points to the team that was playing on their own field to get what I posted. It may sound complicated right now but it's VERY simple. Now on to the comparisons. The number that I list in black will be the number that was predicted and the number in red is the actual game difference: Class A Mayfield over Crittenden County by 17 Mayfield wins by 28 Metcalfe County over Murray by 22.1 Metcalfe County wins by 46 Bardstown over Frankfort by 23.1 Bardstown wins by 29 Danville over Lou. Holy Cross by 27.8 Danville wins by 1 Newport Central Catholic over Bellevue by 18.7 NCC wins by 38 Beechwood over Lexington Christian Academy by 6 LCA wins by 23 Somerset over Pikeville by 13.5 Somerset wins by 28 Paintsville over Lynn Camp by 1 Paintsville wins by 1 :dancingpa Class AA Ft. Campbell over Caldwell County by 37.1 Ft. 6. That's true but they'll still be there ready to take on any and all challenges they will meet.
  7. Looks like Christian County will still be alive as a 4 seed.
  8. I will most definitely be rooting for the Birds to beat LexCath because if they do so and Rockcastle County defeats Bell County, then I'll be able to watch my boys for the first time this year.
  9. FINAL!! What a shocker
  10. I am listening to the coaches show through the Ashland station online and I will have to say that Coach Hart has been nothing but gracious in defeat and has coplemented Rockcastle County every chance that he could. Sorry that one good team had to lose but since Ashland was going up against my Rockets then I'm glad that they were defeated (I'm sorry to say that though).
  11. I just heard through the internet broadcast that the will be NO replay tomorrow because they were having LOADS of technical difficulties with the phone lines.
  12. Congrats to the Rockets on the big win. I also want to send out a congrats to the Tomcats for what I was told a hard fought game. Like I just messaged FB, the Tomcats have NOTHING to be ashamed of and shouldn't hang their heads. Folks I am out until tomorrow morning when I get back online to catch the replay at 9:30am. I invite everyone else from Rockcastle County and anyone else for that matter to catch the game also if you're awake at 9:30am. The game will be rebroadcast on http://www.wrvk1460.com. WAY TO GO ROCK!!!!!!
  13. WAY TO GO ROCKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE GAME HAS NOW GONE FINAL.
  14. Well now that we've found out that he is OK, let's put that behind us and get our minds back on the game. I'm SO nervous. I wish i could be there. Is there anyone in Ashalnd that would be kind enough to gve me a call throughout the game with updates? THANKS to anyone that will do so. Just PM me and I'll give you my cellphone number.
  15. Thanks for the information. That does kind of make a little more sense. I guess I got all excited about posting something like this. I will however wait to see how this week's picks go to decide if I will change it to a 3 point advantage for home teams because if this way works then why fix it BUT if it doesn't then it will most certainly be changed. THANKS for the info!!!!
  16. I too wish nothing but safety for everyone involved. I am not saying that Rockcastle County is going to beat Ashland but to me it would be a little unnerving if Ashland lost because he wasn't there to play. I don't know how much of a factor he is in the game but IF he is injured I wish him nothing but a speedy recovery.
  17. The reason why I did the six point add on is because that's what I've always been told that you should do. I will definitely try to keep up with all of this and repost what the actual outcome compared to my outcomes sometime tomorrow morning because that will be the next chance that I will have to post after 3:30pm today.
  18. So everyone agrees that each home team in the playoffs should be awarded 6 points??? I think it's just a given due to the atmospheres that the home team generates plus they're used to the playing onditions at their respective field.
  19. I know that everyone is going to look at this and say WHAT??? Well what I have done this week is taken the power ratings from the Courier-Journal and the Herald-Leader, added them together and taken the average for each team. Then I took each game and found out the difference between the 2 averages. One other thing that I am doing is adding 6 points to every team that's playing at home this week because the home field advantage in the playoffs gives everyone at least one touchdown. So here they are: Class A Mayfield over Crittenden County by 17 Metcalfe County over Murray by 22.1 Bardtown over Frankfort by 23.1 Danville over Louisville Holy Cross by 27.8 Newport Central Catholic over Bellevue by 18.7 (there was no additional point added to NCC because the game is being played at a neutral site) Beechwood over lexington Christian Academy by 6 Somerset over Pikeville by 13.5 Painstville over Lynn camp by 1 Class AA Fort Campbell over Caldwell County by 37.1 Owensboro Catholic over Trigg County by 5.6 Western over Wayne County by 27.8 Desales over Corbin by 4.9 Newport over East Carter by 16.9 Russell over Mercer County by 17.4 Leslie County over Sheldon Clark by 26.5 Belfry over Middlesboro by 21.7 Class AAA Hopkinsville over Franklin-Simpson by 22.2 Bowling Green over Paducah Tilghman by 30.7 Bullitt East over Southwestern by 12.7 Boyle County over Central by 14.2 Highlands over Franklin County by 13.1 Lexington Catholic over Covington Catholic by 3.7 Bell County over Madison Southern by 12.7 Ashland Blazer over Rockcastle County by 6.9 Class AAAA Warren Central over Graves County by 28 Christian County over Apollo by 0.8 Male over John Hardin by 5.4 St. Xavier over DuPont Manual by 10.2 (this is another game that I did not give the 6 points to anyone because both teams play their games at Manual Stadium) Louisville Trinity over Fern Creek by 24.3 Dixie Heights over Boone County by 7.3 Henry Clay over South Laurel by 21.2 Paul L. Dunbar over Scott County by 7.9 I know that there will be some people that look at this and think that I am personally picking these game but I am not. If anyone wants to see what I did for themselves, just add the Lit Rating and Cantrell Ratings together to get a sum. Divide that sum by 2 and find the difference between the two schools in question. There are also some games that I have on here with the team winning by less that 6 points.....that's because there are some games in which the visiting team is the favorite but since I have given each home team 6 points, that's either made the visiting winning by fewer than the average or it pushes the home team over into the win side. I hope that I haven't confused too many people with this. I will post the same kind of thing next week when the power ratings come out. THANKS AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS TONIGHT!!!!!
  20. How much is the subscription fees to listen to the games? Is there an amount that someone could pay per month rather than per game?
  21. I don't remember much about high school football in the late 80s-early 90s but was Clark County state championship an unexpected win or were they just that good that year? I remember watching the Lexington news channels coverage of their postgame celebration the next day in Clark County. I will also agree that the Cladwell County defeat of Danville was VERY shocking!!!
  22. A: Danville defeats Beechwood AA: Fort Campbell defeats Russell AAA: Highland defeats Bowling Green AAAA: St. Vavier defeats Trinity Honestly, I do not see LexCath winning the regional title because they can never seem to get past either CovCath or Highlands and I see that trend continuing this year.
  23. I am glad that the last thread got canned because it went WAY off topic!!!! As far as the game I would LOVE nothing but a Rockcastle County win. I am not going to make a prediction because I haven't gotten to see Ashland play this year nor Rockcastle Coutny for that matter. If there is ANYONE that will be in attendance and wouldn't mind sending me some text messages during the game (maybe at the end of each quarter) then I would GREATLY appreciate it. Just PM me and I'll give you my cellphone number. I have got to work 2 Women's NCAA Great Lakes Regional Tournament games since Northern Kentucky University is hosting both rounds and the last game won't end until after the Rock/Ashland game is over. So will someone PLEASE do me that favor??? THANKS!!!!
  24. To me this game is what high school is all about. I didn't get to watch it but I did listen to it over the internet. Two class act head coaches with two class act programs battling it out until the final play of the game. To me you can't get much better than that. I really commend all the fans from Mason County on here for being so gracious in defeat. Sometimes people let their emotions get the best of them and post things that really shouldn't be said BUT the fans of Mason County haven't done so. Some posters need to look at the way the Mason County folks have handled themselves. That is another thing that we should see more of in high school athletics. Congrats to Coach Buchanan and his Mason County Royals for pulling themselves together after the 1-9 season to have a marvelous season this year!!!!! Congrats to Coach Larkey and his Rockcastle County Rockets for pulling this one out of the bag. Best of luck to the Rockets as they make the arduous trip to historic Putnam Stadium to take on the Ashland Blazer Tomcats!!!!!
