  1. Pulaski County is playing a tough box and chaser on Colby Brown. It's been run and gun game so far. PC leads 6-3 with 4:56 left in the first quarter.
  2. I just wanted to go ahead and get a thread started. I will try to post updates as often as I can. Tip-off is just a little under 30 minutes away. I am listening to the game on http://www.wrvk1460.com. Kevin Roberts and Jason Coguer are calling the game.
  3. Just wondering if there would be any girls games webcasted tonight. If so could you please post the link to the site as well. THANKS!!!
  4. I got the information on the KHSAA website so I took it that it was correct. Sorry.
  5. Just wanted to list the times in which the regional tournament draws were going to be held so that those of you who don't know when to check the internet can do so. Below I'm going to list, in this order, region, region host (this doesn't necessarily mean this is where the games will be played at), date & time, and draw site. 1 Murray State University 3/4 9am Regional Special Events Center 2 Madisonville-North Hopkins HS 3/4 9am MNHHS 3 Hancock County HS 3/4 9am HCHS 4 Franklin-Simpson HS 3/4 10am Warren Central/WKU 5 Nelson County HS 3/4 9am NCHS 6 Butler HS 3/5 2pm Lou. 6. I tried to load the link so I could bookmark it and it doesn't work right now.
  7. GT, I'm pretty sure that I will be able to do stats for you during the regional games. I'm about 90% sure that I won't be going home for spring break. PM me and we'll work out the details as far as me getting to the games.
  8. Southwestern is in the 48th District. I know that might sound weird but that's what the KHSAA decided to do. The team that's going to be joining Rockcastle County in the championship game will be the Pulaski County Maroons. PC is the #3 seed and Rockcastle County is the #4 seed. Both teams split this season and finished with the same district record. I'm not sure how they decided who got what seed but I'd guess a coin flip did the trick.
  9. There will be a few girls from Rockcastle County that will be really good. The team has challenged for a top 3 spot at state the last few years and Coach Brummett has this team going strong. One of their better long distance runners is in the 4th or 5th grade, Makayla (sp?) Hunter. They also have some other really good girls in other distances and in the field events but my mind is drawing a blank rigt now. Losing Heather Hammond to graduation will hurt too. She's running track full-time for Western Kentucky University.
  10. Thanks or the info folks. I have used the site before that you're talking about nWo and it's pretty cool. The KHSAA also uses it for most of their team state tournaments as well. I found a site where I'm going to go watch some high school football games from South Dakota an Idaho here in the next little bit. I always like either hearing or seeing games from other states.
  11. Being from Rockcastle County I don't take that as a swipe. All season long I felt as if Somerset was a much quicker team than Rockcastle County and if they could get the Rockets into a running game then the Rockets woul be hurting. Of course I wasn't at the game to see what went on but Rockcastle County's inside players probably played a tremendous game and controlled the boards. One last thing that I will say is that when Colby Brown is hitting from the outside then the rest of the team seems to play much better as well and with him having 24 points it seems like they did just that. Jim Schue, I also agree with you on the fact that some schools ten to put more emphasis on the All A tournament than the big dance. Up here in NKy, I feel that there are a few schools that do this too. Bishop Brossart and Covington Holy Cross are a few of those that come to mind.
  12. I would like to know this as well. Could everyone please post the sites if you know of what internet sites are covering the games? Thanks!
  13. I totally agree with you on this one. On any other given year, this year's Pineville team would challenge for a regional championship and to be able to say that about Pineville is saying something. Since I have been following high school basketball (that includes about the last 13 years), I haven't heard a single thing from anyone about Pineville being any good...but I've definitely been hearing those centiments this year. Great of turning the program around Coach Strange!!!
  14. WAY TO GO ROCK!!!!! :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa If I decide to come home for spring break next week, I'm definitely going to show up at their regional game!!!!!
  15. Rockcastle County versus Corbin will be a dandy at Admiral Stadium in Danville.
  16. Hey GT if I decide not to go back home for spring break I wouldn't mind doing stats for you guys. Just PM me and we'll try to work out something.
  17. I think something is totally wrong when a school the size of Owensboro Catholic gets into the tournament. They have enrollment figures of over 700 students. I just wonder how in the world is that "small school" material. Please note that this is not a knock on OCHS. If a team is given the option to play in then they should. I am just stating that the guidelines for who qualify are a little fishy.
  18. I just want to know why are the games not on in Campbell County? We get the Gametime tv show each week but not the games. j/w
  19. Yup he's finally in high school. He's currently playng basketball though but once the season is over, he'll join Coach Bussell and the baseball team.
  20. Personally I hope that he doesn't choose Louisville. I'd rather see him go to Tennessee or Notre Dame before Louisville but that's a decision that he'll have to make on his own.
  21. The reason why I said that about Garmon is because of the interaction that I have had with him myself PLUS he was one of the factors that got the sectional tournament a fews years ago moved to Lexington Catholic when it had rained out Rockcastle County's game versus Hazard three consecutive days. He always treated me with respect so therefore I will do the same to him. I will not comment on my opinion as far as the hitting of the batters because this is something that I feel really strongly about and don't think this is the thread that it should be mentioned in. Remember folks that this thread should be about the coach that we think is one of the best in the state.
  22. Just wondering but which comment was that? The one about Louisville? Personally speaking from knowing Brad a little bit, I can say that whatever decision he makes will be a well thought out decision. I don't think that he'll rush into anything. One note that I'd like to point out that the article didn't talk much about...he's STILL 16 years of age and has more growing to do. I don't know if he'll end up at 6'5"...I think he'll probably top out at 6'6"-6'8" and be 315-325. He may be what some consider a baby in age but he's a man out there on the field.
