  1. Others would differ. Queen is arguably the most versatile player in the state, Gray and Terry the best shooters, Okoro can hold her own against any post player in the state. As for match-ups, check the tape of last season's final. Novosel drove at will until Queen asked to defend her in the 4th quarter...you can see the results. Clearly, it will be a fun season for the fans. Excuse me, that's my bias spilling onto the floor...
  2. Congratulations...and best wishes for her success at KCU.
  3. It was our pleasure...both meeting you and seeing the girls on the floor together. Didn't mean to exclude mentioning Rebecca...was simply replying to the question about Emily and Luara.
  4. Uh, excuse me...that would be "right field."
  5. Ain't happening...or as might be reported on SNL, "na gonna d' it."
  6. Reportedly, Mark has taken the top spot and will have Joe Romer as his assistant. Joe spent two seasons as the head coach of the Rose Hill Lady Royals.
  7. You've got my First Team vote, Brooke.:thumb: Go Lady Toppers!!
  8. Congratulations to Rose Hill's talented junior duo of Emily Queen and Laura Terry for being named to the Courier Journal's All State Second Team. http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060416/SPORTS05/604160392
  9. Oops!! I mistakenly said Ashley Baldwin when in fact it is Leigh Audra Perry who made the team. My apologies to Miss Baldwin...and may I say that had she not sustained a season ending injury, she doubtless would have made the roster.
  10. Well deserved. Congratulations. The Lady Royals of Rose Hill should feel all the better about how well they performed against them.
  11. Well done, young lady. You are more than deserving of such recognition. Now, go be a great Lady Raider!!
  12. :thumb: As long as we're speculating... I would like to see a third game, with Kala healthy and able to play man defense (so we could defend the perimeter) and Emily on Novosel the entire game. My prediction is that the 9 point spread that existed with just over six minutes to go in the State final would be there at the end...and maybe less of a lead.
  13. Make that 1046. Give the guy credit for the 4 layups he made in 60 seconds!!
  14. What she did before coming to Rose Hill is of no significance. She has done a wonderful job and is deserving of credit and honor.
  15. Additionally... If records in the Diddle program are accurate, Laura Terry now holds the record for 3 pt shots made during a championship final (6)...and Emily Queen ranks 4th among tournament rebound leaders (56). Dare I say it..."way to represent, girls!!"
  16. While rebounding totals for her 7th & 8th grade seasons are still being researched (varsity games only, of course), Emily Queen entered the State Tournament with 955 official rebounds in her career and collected 56 in four games at Diddle, pushing her over the 1000 career rebound mark.
  17. For the record... Queen's offer came in December after the Owensboro Tournament. While Emily and her family have maintained contact with Coach Cowles, they simply have been unable to schedule a trip to Bowling Green before this past weekend. As for Terry...trust me...she has no need to worry. Great job, Laura!!
  18. http://www.khsaa.org/basketball/girls/sweet16/2006/stats/girls11box.htm Hard fought, high-pressure game. Mistakes aplenty, but big plays on both ends when it counted...and the heart and effort was there for 32 minutes.
  19. I was pleased to give her name to Morehead's Coach Mitchell and told him last year that in my opinion she was one of the most overlooked and underrated players in the region...which may no longer be the case...and that she could play for him. One of those you hate to play against, but would love to have on your team.
  20. Sorry Spindoc, no time to say more here, but quickly... When I feared they would find no reason to compete, the Lady Royals found motivation in the second half in Britt Faulkner's fire and Kala Faulkner's defensive pressure and four 3s. Nice to be able to win such a game when coming out so obviously flat and out of synch.
  21. Well said, Russelldad. If Rose Hill plays with a cool head, applies controlled pressure and takes what the defense gives them, their talent should win out in the end. Rose Hill by 12
