  1. Well done. I'm curious...how did Rowan manage Russell's tremendous size advantage?
  2. Just found these: Emily London: 33 points; 5 rebounds; 5 assists; 13-14 from the line. Good job, Emily. I noticed that Snowden went to the line 16 times and as noted above, London 14 times. The last game I saw at LexCath was a slugfest...with the opposing team getting few opportunities at the line. Where was the game played?
  3. Would that be Emily London? If so, I agree...she's athletic, savvy and fearless. Stats?
  4. Congratulations, Jonathan. Keep it up...this year and beyond.
  5. Easy now...this is all fun, but you're about to cross the line.
  6. Please...no offense taken here. Admittedly an overreaction on my part...but this stuff is fun and I took an opportunity to jab back. Thanks for the clarification. I couldn't agree more as regards the downstate coaches. The #3 ranking was a disservice to the Lady Royals...serving only to set them up for ridicule and diminishing last year's accomplishments.
  7. I'm trying to believe that you don't mean to be as mocking as you seem. Queen and Terry are not to be blamed that no others from this region made the "Top 25" and their Miss Basketball candidate status is well deserved. Fortman, Okoro and Seales would be included in my list and I believe most RHCS supporters would agree. Beyond those three...your joke loses its punch. The fact that the Lady Royals were placed 3rd in the CJ's poll illustrates how little genuine attention is given to the 16th Region by those who vote on such matters. As for the topic at hand...congratulations to Russell...and I agree with Oldrambler that Raceland is still a contender.
  8. Hey!! I was trying to help!! I understood that Scootebob asked a question to which Cvillecat responded..."Upset in your eyes maybe...", which I did not think was in any way implied in the question. I was pleased to see that the Ram fans did not consider the victory an upset...and stated my agreement. As for your support of the Lady Royals...I do know and you know that I know...and I know that you know that I know...and you know... Let's hope we both get past our first round game and meet in the All A Regional final. Have a good year!
  9. Interesting thread. I look forward to the discussion. I agree with your approach during a big win...make it a profitable practice session...get something out of it...work on the best things, not just easy scoring opportunities.
  10. Correction: Terry - 1/5 3ptrs. Faulkner - 4/8 free throws
  11. I had not read this before my previous post. I sure hope the thought of my best De Niro face does not scare you...given your delicate ways.
  12. You talkin' to me? Are you speakin' to me (in my best De Nero face)? The refs did a credible job in calling what was a rough and ugly contest. There were a few missed calls...as is the case in every game...but they did not determine the outcome. Would I prefer that they missed just one or two less than they did? Sure. That said, I would in no way cheapen the effort on the part of any kid in that game. Let me add this...these two teams could meet 3 more times this season.
  13. You stated your congratulations, as did I. Scotterbob simply asked if you...and others...considered it an upset. You then ascribed to him an opinion that he had not in fact stated. Let me say it again...he asked a question.
  14. Again...thus the...let's see...how would Glenn Beck say it...QUESTION MARK! He didn't say it was and upset, he asked for the opinions of the Ram faithful. Congratulations again. As I've said previously, if the Lady Royals can't make it to Richmond, I hope you do and if so, I'll be pulling for you.
  15. No whining here, I simply noted how rough the game was. It made for an ugly game. Hey, the refs missed a few calls...not a big deal...and the Lady Royals learned they can win ugly. What's your point about the number of free throws taken by the three Lady Royals in question? Likewise, the turnovers? Explain the logic, please.
  16. Likewise, by those of us who are Lady Royal fans. I think Scooterbob's point was precisely that...they did what they were expected to do. Good job, but "you don't consider it an upset, do you?" Did I misunderstand, Scooterbob?
  17. Uh...I believe I saw a question mark at end of Scooterbob's post.
  18. Well said...and I agree. Thanks for noting the clock problem. A number of fans pointed out the problem at the time, but were ignored.
  19. Ashland's Daily Indpendent had her with 14 rebounds, but then again the young sports writer also had her with shooting 7/14 and Terry with 6/14. I believe he was wrong on all three counts. The RHCS statskeeper watches and records only the Lady Royals and films have confirmed her accuracy consistently. Good job, Emily, on the near miss of a triple-double (1 steal shy). Laura, had two of your "fouls" been awarded as the blocks they in fact were, you would have been in the game at the end.
  20. They won last year's home opener against Boyd County and then got smacked by West Carter in the first game for which the Faulkner girls were eligible. A real treat this season will be watching the maturity of the young girls that are playing.
  21. Had you seen the game, you might understand...it was very, very physical. 51 fouls called...RHCS 27, BC 24...half that number that were overlooked. Rose Hill seemed to be in a rush all evening...even when time was running down...but that kind of anxiety should ease as the season progresses. Getting to Richmond and to Diddle again this season will be a monumental task...but it remains the goal. It's not supposed to be easy.
  22. Emily Queen: 24 points on 7/19 shooting (includes 0/2 3ptrs), 10/13 free throws, 17 rebounds, 9 steals, 3 assists, 6 turnovers Laura Terry:15 points on 6/16 shooting (includes 1/4 3ptrs), 2/4 free throws, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, 4 turnovers Brit Faulkner:6 points on 1/2 shooting (no 3 ptrs), 4/6 free throws, 1 assist, 8 turnovers Other notables: Kelsee Hammonds 2 points, 5 rebounds for the 7th grader. Congratulations, girls. Typical 1st game jitters, inability to settle down, extremely rough play, but much to be learned from the game.
  23. Li'l Frances an "incoming freshman?" It doesn't seem possible. I wish him every success. As for the "big picture"...dead on, Frances. Now, are those cookies about ready? I'm getting ready to watch Rutgers come from behind and I need something sweet.
  24. Congratulations. I wish you well at EKU. Fine school and a wonderful coaching staff. Coach Sledge is one of the good people in women's college basketball.
