  1. It is interesting to note the difference in point of view. Rejects vs family. etc. LOL.
  2. Come on now. I know you guys are on staff with Nichols. You know the numbers. How many???
  3. Watching... LOL! And again, how many Catholic grade school kids are now playing for Manual? How many...? Interesting...
  4. Hold on here. This is a fact. I did name names - Nichols. He and staff have been spotted at Catholic grade school games. Fact! And my other question - how many Catholic grade school kids are now playing for Manual? How many...?
  5. How many catholic grade school kids did Nichols "get" recently. I understand he is having discussions with catholic grade school kids right now. Interesting...
  6. Evasive? What show were you watching? It is a yes/no questions. He answered the question posed. He real answer should have been: Why shouldn't the two best teams have a chance at meeting in the finals? Remember, X has to play all teams from the west and Trinity has all teams from the east and north to beat before they can meet in the finals. If you don't want them to meet in the finals, all you have to do is win instead of whine. I think the questioner (Scott Co.) showed his ignorance of the facts and history. It used to be that way, and people whined. Make up you mind. In the end, we will still win. That won’t change a thing.
  7. I wonder if Lex Cath or Cov Cath complained about the 5 titles Boyle won in a row...
  8. That's about what the publics are asking for...
  9. Since most of the "public school admin’s" do not want to talk about compromise, I thought we here on BGP could offer some "concessions" that might help avert this travesty. 1. Defined feeder system – it would have to go both ways. 2. 20 mile radius – if the feeder system is in place, this would not be needed. 3. Financial aide = not eligible. This would be acceptable to private schools. Any other suggestions?
  10. It's easy to be totally, completely, and entirely wrong AND off base when you are being fed half truths and lies by your "leadership". BTW - I believe you meant to say cannot. If not, welcome to the light.
  11. Actually SS, I know of several children that were denied access to public schools due to their physical limitations. :sssh: But to be fair, I know it is not the norm. But it DOES happen. :thumb:
  12. And I thought it was really funny when he wanted to go back to having a Jeff Co champ playing an at large "champ". Make us your mind...
  13. Scott County’s AD/FB Coach proposed the following rule: Only athletes that attended Catholic grade schools would be allowed to play for Catholic high schools, or the child would have to sit out their freshmen year. When Scott County’s AD/FB Coach was asked if public schools would only be able to play kids that came from public middle schools, his response was… “Well no.” So essentially, he wants Catholic schools to only play with kids that attended Catholic schools, but he does not want to play by the same rules for public schools. I believe him to be a great coach and a good guy, but he just did not seem to think things through. Seems like most everyone has not thought this through, just like the old hillbilly... LOL.
  14. ^^^But that explanation would take all fun out of this, now wouldn't it.
  15. Trinity Shadowing: Shadowing is the best way for a student to get a personal perspective of the Trinity experience. Typically, 8th grade students shadow in the fall and 7th grade students are invited to shadow in the spring. Shadows are asked to arrive before 7:45 a.m. at the Rotunda – the building at the corner of Shelbville Rd. and Sherrin Ave. They will be introduced to a freshman student “host”, eat breakfast and proceed to class. Shadows spend a half-day with their host during the first five periods of the day (including lunch) A short tour, starting at 12:15, concludes the day. Parents are welcome to join us for the tour, or pick up your son around 1:15. Student hosts can be requested or we can assign a student with similar interests to your son’s. To arrange for a Shadow, please contact the Office of School Advancement at 502.736.2109.
  16. "It is obvious to me that the Louisville private schools identify our best athletes in middle school as early as the 6th and 7th grades and then implement an organized recruitment process to persuade these selected athletes to attend their schools. This recruitment consists of handing out business cards, having current private school student-athletes e-mail them, invites to open house and shadowing, phone calls, and offers of financial aid." The statement "It is obvious to me" should be changed to "It is my opinion". All of the above is offered to ANY grade school students. Next.
  17. OH NO!!! You don't think there would possibly be a double standard. BTW - how did Pikeville vote??? Against Prop 20.
  18. As do MANY parochial students. So what? Public schools give out SIGNIFICANTLY MORE financial aid than private schools. WAY MORE!!!
  19. Re: Oldham and Shelby Co students - Where else do you propose those students to attend in order to receive the faith-based education their parents wish for them to receive?
  20. I think the next step is the throw out the "independent" schools, including all of Jefferson Co. (or at least Male and Manual). Then you would see a new association formed.
