  1. The All "A" has been one of the main goals for the Brossart team for the 07-08 season. Look for Brossart to be very well prepared to play this game. Give Coach Code and staff time to break a team down via past games and the chances of a different outcome increase dramatically, it is very hard to beat a team 3 times in the same season. Look for a hard fought contest tonight with Brossart getting the "W". To use a quote from Mustang: "this is a distance race and not a sprint, the horse that always takes the lead in the Derby very seldom wins the Derby". Which means look for this team to continue to get better as the season progresses and they may have an upset game or two up the sleeve in the future. Good Luck Mustangs!!
  2. Why not give the Eagles some credit?? I would say that the Dixie and Simon Kenton games are some of the biggest regular season games that these teams play and pride is always at stake. With having "open enrollment", these games also mean a lot to all of the programs. If Dixie had a bad game, than maybe a Brad Carr game plan has something to do with the end results. Sound logical to me, but Tiger I am sure that you will disagree on this.
  3. Even if you are up 3 there are still a number of things that can go wrong. 1) if in the bonus a make on the 1st and a miss on the 2nd and a stickback, usually not likely, but ask Derek Smith and Eric Glazer about that one. 2) a possible foul on a 3pt shooter makes and goes in and shoots one for the win. 3) hits the 2 ft's and on the inbound, a steal, turnover or a 5 second count. While all of these seem unlikely, in games such as these, when you have a 3pt difference those things have happened more than once. Sooooo, up 3 I will take a chance on good D and the worst that can happen is OT.
  4. I guess they just don't have the "GUARD" play that they had last year?? Support Coach Carr and the Eagles or jump to another ship. Carr gets the most of his players, and for the most part not only has the respect of most of the kids that play for him, but most importantly has the respect of his peers. So, as my mama always told me "if you don't have anything good to say than why say anything?" Support or move on:walk:
  5. I assume that you are speaking of his ability as an football offical:D Coach Fromeyer does a very good job of getting the kids ready to play at the next level. If you always measure a frosh coach by wins and losses than you are looking through the wrong set of glasses!! Good frosh coaches find those players that can adapt to the adjustments of becoming a high school student athlete and develop them into the varsity system. That is why you may see 12 players on a frosh team, but by the time they are seniors if you can maintain 6-8 of those players in your system, than all of the coaches have done their job!! Good luck to the entire Scott staff and players
  6. The season is not made in December!! This is why the Districts are played in March. Look for Coach Carr and Scott to make some noise at the end of the year and make it at least a 3 team race.
  7. Is the Conner kid the grandson of Jim Conner?? If so, it is a good thing he doesn't shoot like his dad:lol::lol: Quality win for NCC
  8. Mason should be the preseason #1, than the Lex. Cath's, Scott Co"s....and the rest of the usuals will follow. The only thing that could stop Mason is if Miller would to become injured, than the 10th could be a little more competitive than most think. Miller is a very good player and seems to be a very good person, so let's hope he goes injury free and Mason and Mr. Miller get there run!!
  9. I guess nobody can be a good at the point guard of last year? There is one thing that I can say about Jordan Adkins, he is very willing to sacrafice his own personal gain of scoring to see that the offense will be ran correct and will play as hard as anyone on defense. So if the comment of "everything runs through Adkins" was meant as a possible team leader than the person making the comment was 100% correct. A true leader is one that leads by example and this is a quality that Jordan has. I can honestly say that I did not see a true floor leader last year other than the coaching staff!! But this is just one persons obversation??
  10. Bellevue is on top 42-6 with clock running in the 4th. Game is on the BMustang web.
  11. All chose to start Varsity play this year. The reason for this was that if they did not start Varsity competition this year than they would not be able to compete at the Varsity level for another 3 years. I know that there were numerous discussions about moving from JV to Varsity and how tough the first few years would be, while this was not an easy move to make I think that those involved felt it was time to make the move. Time will only tell if it was too soon.
  12. Scott may just be wearing that glass slipper to get to the finals. The match up with Clark should be a good one!! The Sharp kid has matured a bunch of the past 12 months and if kids like Smith, Miller, and Hiller continue to step up this could get interesting. Did I forget to mention that Carr and Humphries coached together at one time and I think they may know each other pretty well and may have some of the same offenses, just a guess?? Coach Carr has more in his bag of tricks than one would think. Coach Carr has done one of the great job this year and while no coach ever wants to hear this they have with out a doubt overachieved with this group!! Good luck to the Eagles and Mustangs both!!
  13. I would not give Mason the crown just yet!! Look for Brossart to bring everything that they have for this one. This group of kids has never liked losing and it is very tought to beat a team 3 times!! In all four years of there high school year they have played games with their backs to the wall in some fashion being the underdog and found a way to come out on top. They have always shown COURAGE in some tough times. Look for this one to be closer than what everyone thinks. Mason is a very good team with a very good player which has had a very good year, but as stated above I am sure the 3rd attempt at victory will not come easy. If the boys in Green get that good 1st quarter run don't be surprised by the outcome!!:thumb:
  14. A school may enter a team composed of fifteen (15) players in each post-season tournament game that must be players who appeared on the eligibility list (roster) submitted to the district tournament manager. The fifteen (15) players must be designated each game, and no other players may be in uniform and tournament management may further limit the number of individuals in the bench area. This seems to be a violation. I hope for Coach Steiner that this is not the case! He has had enough bad breaks this year and is a man which works way to hard to have something such as this happen. If he did dress more than 15, it was only because a coach was trying to reward his players for all of their hard work and dedication to the team and the coaching staff!!
  15. Why not have each team in the finals nominate 4 and the team wins get the 4 and the losing team just drops one and ends up with 3? I think we all agree that Neimeyer should have been on the All Tourney team!!:thumb:
  16. Nathan has plenty of HEART!!! We must remember that a high school senior does not call the shots. When you have parents and doctors involved, it is very obvious that a player/son can not control what he is made too do. I know for a fact that this kid had tears in his eyes on many occasions since Wed. night. You must not question this kids heart, but maybe the decisions be made out of his control!!
  17. Lets not, run the players, get on the players, discipline the players, ask them to keep the grades up, ask them to be on time for practice and games, ect... and when the team does not win lets get a new coach! Running has always been a part of any sport and a little extra incentive after a bad game or practice will only help condition the team and maybe help them focus on the mistakes being made. Lets not look at this as punishment, but as a way to limit and correct mistakes and make the team better. If a coach is making your son run than there must be a reason. Accept that reason and understand the that coach is only trying to make your son and the team better.
  18. Lex Cath plays at 7:30 tonite. Let's don't put the cart before the horse but a good chance on a BBHS -vs- Lex Cath game.
  19. Mustang not able to get out with a broadcast. Brossart up 26-22 at half.
  20. Lost to Lee County 68-60 Won against Pike Co. Central 79-44 per KHSAA website
  21. If I am not mistaken the season is still early? Give Coach Carr some time to develop some depth from the bench! I feel very confident that Coach Carr will continue to work these kids in practice and hope that one or two more players will develop later in the season which will allow for a rotation to help rest some players. If I am not mistaken this did happen with Miller last year. Remember, it is not how you run the race but how you finish! Keep playing hard Eagles and continue to buy into the system:thumb:
