Wow. Big news. You think there's going to be any problems getting these guys eligible?

They way you have been talking has peeked my interest. Is there more players supposed to be coming other than Wolter?

The little Miller kid that was an 8th grader last year can shoot so I am not really worried about their shooting, especially if they get a guy that can create like Justice was able to do last year. Like I said don't really know a whole lot about the kid other than just word of mouth stuff. So just a couple questions you may or may not know the answer to for sure, but...... How does Wolter compare to Cam Justice? Have any idea on that? Is he going to be just as good of player, a little better, a little worst? Will he still be able to give as much to the team I guess is what I am trying to say. East Ridge was a good team last year when Justice was healthy, when he was hurt they were an entirely different team. They could have potentially challenged Betsy Lane for the region crown last year had he stayed healthy the entire season. Does Wolter give them that same kind of ability? The ability to make the whole team better just by his presence on the court? I have heard that he is a sophomore, is that right? Do you think he will be eligible to play?

What all have you heard about the kid? They say he is pretty legit but it may just be the new boy syndrome, even happened when I was in school and we got a transfer. Most of these guys are hyped a lot more than they are worthy, Belfry had a kid like that last season, but from everything I've heard the Wolter kid is for real.

Things may not be as bad as they seemed for East Ridge. When coach Raymond Justice left it hurt not only because they lost a good coach but also lost his son in frosh prospect Camron, and I rarely give anyone my stamp of approval unless deserving but Cam Justice is for real. Put up a couple 27+ point games when I saw him to go along with like 7 and 7 boards and assists, and this was as an 8th grader and one of those games were against state leading scorer and Pikeville College (refuse to say upike) signee Hobo McCoy. So after the Justices' left I didn't.have much hope for a team in which I felt had a lot of potential going forward. BUT, seems like ER may have landed a player to fill Cam Justices shoes, lot of talk about a new kid up there named Tony Wolter (sp?). Wanting to say kid is just a sophomore and word is he can jump out of the gym and throw off the backboard lobs to himself. He is from Canada originally from what I hear. From the people I have talked to he is supposed to be legit, they are just hoping he becomes eligible. There was some nice tout talent already in place so there's a chance east ridge is going to be on the scene this year in the 15th. If he kept leaving the stage like that between songs and carried that kind of attitude I'd say Cee Lo was working in a little blow or some other kind of substance in between songs. But thats just my guess. I mean he's not Mariah, I doubt he was back there changing wardrobe between songs.

Agree 100% with this. I hate to even admit this because I don't like the band at all, but I used to have a Depeche Mode tribute album and it was amazing. Had a Smashing Pumpkins cover on it, had a lot of great stuff on it. But typically tribute albums seem to be horrible.

I think I read earlier in the year he bombed at Coachella as well so not looking good for Cee Lo.

When you look at regional appearances though (coming out of the 59th district along with Shelby Valley) 2011-Pville 2010-ER 2009-neither (six team district 59th/60th added together experiment) 2008-ER 2007-Pville 2006-Pville 2005-ER 2004-ER 2003-ER East Ridge has made the regional tournament 5 times in that span, Pikeville has made it 3.

Until two or so years ago that just wasn't the case as East Ridge historically (in its short history) dominated Pikeville on the hardwood. They would have continued to do so with Justice in the fold IMO and would have been battling Shelby Valley once again for District bragging rights. It's just sad to see East Ridge go down hill so quickly when it started out with so much promise to build great tradition as a basketball school. Hopefully the program can continue to get back in the direction it was headed in its first three years as a school (couple district championships, regional championship).

Mixed feelings about this one from the East Ridge folks I have talked to. They were scrambling after Raymond Justice bolted for Knott County and I don't think the applicants were coming in as hot as they thought they were going to. Couple former coaches were in the mix, as well as former Elkhorn City and Pikeville College coach (more recently UHA) Randy McCoy. I heard McCoy withdrew his name and not too many other candidates emerged. I hope this turns out for the better at East Ridge than it does for the worst. School was started with a lot of pride and a lot of tradition, have won a regional title in its second year as a school. Now almost 8 years after the fact they are still struggling to get back on that level. It looked like it was getting ready to happen last year with Raymond Justice and his son Camron who started as an 8th grader. Outside of Cam Justice was also some other good young talent, so the future was looking pretty good as far as getting things back on the winning track but Justice left for greener pastures and the thing that stings the most about that is losing Camron (who IMO will be one of the states elite before his career is over). Not sure how passionate Lemaster is about taking the job and wanting to excel with it, but none the less it will always be hard to do anything at East Ridge because of so much parent involvment and other factors that make the job more difficult and less attractive to suitors. The parents try way too hard to get their way and it pushed a lot of canidates out of consideration IMO. The chance to do good is there considering the close ties to the Big Sandy area and the UK connection but I will be skeptical about seeing results on the court at least for another season or two and by that time I wouldn't be surprised to see the East Ridge coaching monster already devour its latest coach by that time. They always seem to go quick up there, but hopefully they can give Lemaster time to work and hopefully things keep progressing the way they did last year, even after losing their best players (Justice to transfer, McClanahan and others to graduation).

They got a great coach coming in Raymond Justice, but more importantly they got his son Camron who is going to be a freshman. Kid can play though, started as an 8th grader last year at East Ridge and had a couple 28+ point games. Has good size and feel for the game for such a young age and without question held his own against the older guys in the 15th. From the players I have watched in the last decade, the only one I would even consider in the same discussion from the 15th is going to be Elisha Justice. I remember watching Elisha as a frosh and you see some of the same qualities in Camron, only Camron has more size at that point and is more of an effective scorer at that point. Elisha grew to be a great scorer, especially in the clutch, but as a frosh he was mainly a ball handler and distributor. Justice does a little bit of everything, or at least he did for East Ridge last year, and again that is as an 8th grader. He was an adept passer (especially for age), rebounded, showed mid range, ability to drive, shoot from the perimeter, I mean he was doing a little bit of everything in the games I watched. I watched around 4-6 of his games last season. One game was matched against Hobo McCoy who I think challenged for a place in the state scoring records last year (may actually have made the top 10 list) and who will play for Kelly Wells and defending NAIA National Champion Pikeville College next season. In that game Justice more than held his own and actually put up about 27 points himself, to go along with like 8 and 8 I want to say. So I guess what I am trying to say is that for his age, he looks to be the real deal to me. Again only player in the 15th I could say who has a chance to be better than him over the last decade is Elisha Justice, not Landon Slone, not anyone. Not sure how true this is because I don't reisde in Knott County so I don't really know for sure. BUT, I have heard that they also have a 6'9'' kid that is pretty skilled, along with another young talent. From what I hear Raymond Justice thinks he landed in a very good situation, and instead of competing for regional titles, I think he feels they will be capable of competing for state titles in the next few years. Hopefully someone from around Knott County/Perry County (Hazard) could enlighten us a little more on what they actually will look like next season. I know they battled it out against Perry Central last season for the region crown, but I have no idea who they lost or who is coming back. Just from what they are getting in Camron Justice though, it has to make up for a lot.

That's what I've always heard. Basically had a buzz around him all week long, but I just assumed a lot of it was exaggerated. One thing about it, few players have ever came out of Kentucky who were better scorers. Nothing really panned out after high school, but as a high school athlete the state saw few in the 90's who were better. A pro scout who travels the small circut (NAIA, DII, DIII, high school etc.) once told me at a Pikeville College game that Todd Heff Conley was the only player he had seen who could have played pro ball in all three sports. Somehow it had came up in discussion that I was from Elkhorn City, he then asked whatever happened to that big Conley boy from up there. I told him and then he responded with that. I had always heard about him tearing it up at the Beach Ball that week though, and it is the sole reason I always pay attention to that tournament more than any other prep basketball tourney.

I've always wanted to go to the Beach Ball Classic. Back in the day Elkhorn City went when Randy McCoy was coaching there, that would have been around 1993-1994. Kevin Garnett was still at Maulden (sp?) at that time and Elkhorn City played them, Todd "Heff" Conley scored like 42 in that game. I have been fascinated by the tourney ever since. That would have happened around the time I was seven years old, but I have grew up listening to tales of that tourney my whole life. First shot of the game Conley got swatted about eight rows deep by KG but from all accounts went on to put on a shooting clinic for the rest of the game. I have heard from a few different guys who played on the team around that time and they said that when the team was leaving the last day there was a couple big time FSU recruits shouting "Hey Conley!" and doing the Florida State chop motion as if to say, come on man, come to FSU. Always as premiere of a high school tournament as there is. Then and now.

Far from it I think. Right now I think Murray State and a few others are showing interest but none of the big guys are giving him any serious looks. Of course this can all change depending on performance but right now don't think hes getting a lot of looks.

Me too, him and Andrews made some beautiful music together. Kinda hated to see them branch off and do their own thing.

Been listening to a lot of Sam Quinn. Used to be in a group with Jill Andrews called Everybodyfields but for the past year or so has been doing his own thing with his band Japan Ten.

Can't go wrong with some Radiohead.

Pretty sure he will be a frosh next year. Started JV this year at East Ridge.

Not saying it will happen 100%. Just saying I've heard that as one of the options SV will be looking at if Booher does leave.

To the contrary I have heard that Shelby Valley will be reaching out to East Ridge coach Raymond Justice to fill the void if Booher does leave. Although I'm sure they are more interested in Raymond's son (who will be a frosh) than they are him.
