  1. Not to take anything away from Hendrix, he's a great player. But, isn't he a junior this year? If so, there aren't any colleges making offers to him. That'll come during his senior season. College coaches aren't going to come up to him or his parents and him being a sophmore this past season and say, "I'll give this kid a full ride as soon as he graduates." Maybe they'll talk to the coach and ask about the kid, but they aren't making any offers. And before you reply saying that I don't know what I am talking about, I do. I have researched just about every site and called a couple of college coaches. They don't make offers until you are a senior and they know that what they are going to sign doesn't fizzle out before hand.
  2. While we are talking about stats I'll throw these out. Caleb Hall BA was .375 and he scored 45 runs and had 26 RBI's. Caleb had a fielding % of .903. Brandon Smith BA was .416 and scored 42 runs and had 36 RBI's. Brandon had a fielding % of .865. He also put out 30+ runners stealing. Troy Smith was 7-4 and struck out 51. And he only allowed 2 HR's. Also Caleb and Troy both were on the 14th region All Star team. We all know that stats mean nothing. It's the make up of the player and the desire they have to win that makes a great player.
  3. Hendrix is a great player no doubt. Osborne is a great player. I just feel that Hendrix is a better hitter and a better field player. Yes I would put Troy in front of Morgan. Sure he doesn't strike everyone out. But Troy and his catcher work well together and both know what pitch to give a hitter. No laughs here.
  4. LOL! You guys. I like to hear thoughts not personal attacks. Billbud has come up with a good list. I'll agree with some. But not all. I really don't think that the Osborne kid will be the best. That will have to go to Hendrix or Smith. Maybe Muncie as well. BB's list of pitchers looks to be dead on. I would switch Smith and Thomas around. And maybe even put Troy in the third spot.
  5. My favorite basketball moment would have to be when I coached a junior pro team for one game. My son played on this team and the head coach was called into work and since I did coach a baseball team I was asked to coach. I was reluctant and rather than forfeit to a rival team, I coached for that one game. The rival team at that time was better than our team. We were 5-4 and they were 8-1, I beleive. Well, my strategy was to go inside on every shot and no three's unless they were wide open for the shot. The rival team's second highest scorer was at least a foot taller than the boys on our team. Hence, the "go inside on every shot" theory. It worked. The big man was on the bench by the time the first quarter was over. And fouled out by the end of the third. This team also scored an average of 45 points a game and we held them to 24. I had no idea what I was doing and we beat that team by 30 points. That was my last coaching gig in basketball and I left it. It was too stressful.
  6. The coach should be involved during the season. to get that athlete looked at during games. Why when the season is over? I agree that after the season the coach should help all he can getting the athlete looked at and into showcases.
  7. This pic has to be the best so far. And funny:laugh:
