  1. The 14th should be fun to watch this year. Most teams are close to each other, talent wise. Knott Central will be tested the first game of the season. KCC plays Leslie County.
  2. You're 2/3's of TKS? Talk about egotistical. Naw, she's a great person. Anyway, welcome tothe site. Have fun and post often. :dancingpa
  3. I didn't think that Jackson City would beat Knott Central, but they fooled me. JC has a very good team. I'm sure KCC will bounce back.
  4. We use a couple of local places to buy gloves and baseball bags. I like the auction sites to buy bats or a glove, if it is new. Baseball Express is a good place for baseball equipment.
  5. I would say it's nice. The people, (JC fans and parents), make it that much better.
  6. I'll agree with Earle. I'd have to say that that the 14th is going to be strong this year. With the addition of Letcher Central and Estill County, it'll be interesting to see who ends up the region champs.
  7. Since the game is at Knott's turf, I'll say Patriots by 3.
  8. My son went last year and he learned a lot. The showcase was run great. If anyone attended the camp and/or showcase, chime in and let us know how it went.
  9. Earle, thanks for the link. I didn't think to do that. I like Knott Central's schedule, so far. They have a good mix of teams. I'm looking forward to seeing KCC play Bath County and Bryan Station in late April.
  10. Guru has a sticky at the top of this forum. Click on the link: http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?t=65875 Once on the KHSAA schedule, you'll have to click on the "Other Scoreboards" option and scroll down to 2006 baseball season. You should be able to find your high school's baseball schedule.
  11. It's almost that time. I have been looking at different schedules of teams in the 14th and teams that KCC are playing outside the region. KCC doesn't have a full schedule on the KHSAA site yet, but they do have 12 games listed. Has anyone else checked out the schedules? If so, how well do you think your team will do? If not, go and check them out.
  12. Great advice. Throw in a showcase or two, as well.
  13. Great win for the Tigers. They have some great kids on that team.
  14. Troy Smith from Knott Central should have a very good season. His catcher should be returning and that's the catcher he likes to work with. I look for good things from Troy this season.
  15. Here's my pre-season 15 top ten... 1. Pikeville 2. Lawrence County 3. Johnson Central 4. Paintsville 5. Sheldon Clark 6. Prestonsburg 7. Allen Central 8. Betsy Layne 9. Belfry 10.Pike Central Lawrence County is a better team than a lot of people give them credit. The Bulldogs are loaded. Knott County played them over the Summer and Lawrence looked like a solid team. Pikeville is by far the better team in the region. Pikeville has great pitching and some great hitters. They'll probably take the region crown. But they better watch for LC. I wouldn't overlook them. I really like the Rebels of Allen Central but I just don't think they are a #2 team. Sheldon Clark is a solid top 5.
  16. Those contacts are the ones made by Nike, I believe. I've heard a lot about the contacts. They have only been available to the pro players and just recently they were made available to the public. The price isn't to hefty either. Which is a surprise.
  17. Forgot about Ichiro. I doubt that Jones ever will be a 5 tool player. He'll need to do a lot of work to become one.
  18. I knew that you would be the first to get this right. My used coffee cup is on it's way. Bonds was one in his prime. ARod and Griffey Jr are two of the best. Players with 4 out of the 5 that come to mind are Derek Jeter, Carlos Delgado, and Albert Pujos.
  19. Just a new topic (quiz) to kick around in the off season. What are the 5 tools of a baseball player? Not all have the 5 tools. Only a few do have. Most players may only have 2 or three. So, what are the five tools. No prize. Unless you want a used coffee cup.
  20. I would assume that they could. A lot of good talent in the 14th.
  21. I found out a little while ago that Chase Hall passed away yesterday. He was a student at EKU. Chase was 18. Chase was a great kid and very smart. He almost made the taping of Jeopardy a few years ago. He made it to the finals before getting beat out. Chase played for Knott Central for two seasons in 2002-03. My sons knew him very well and Chase was well liked by his team mates. You would see a smile on his face no matter what. The cause of death is still unknown. Chase did have a history of medical problems. We will miss you Chase, God speed brother.
  22. Thanks for the reply. I really understand your point. Keep on doing what you do. :thumb:
  23. To the person who asked me why I started this thread and e-mailed it to you, Because I care, and by the looks of it, so don't a few others. It's like advertising a new product. You have to get it on a "billboard" to get the name out. If you don't advertise, no one is going to buy it. In order to have one's product to sell, you have to advertise.
