Coach Edge put it all on the line with that 4th and two call on their own 12. We were sitting in the stands saying there is no way he does this, and they pulled it off. What I was most surprised with was Catholic's ability to run the ball against this falcon defense. They had so much trouble against Trigg but they were very successful this game and that opened up so much stuff. One play that I will always remember was that block that Taliferro(sp?) had on the punt return for a TD. He absolutely destroyed that kid and sprung Holland for the TD, also helped by another big block from Kamuf at the 10 yd line. The biggest key to this game in the end seemed to be Catholic's depth, again.

I just don't see them scoring 42 points on Catholic, Catholic actually does have a defense and they aren't to shabby. I think the score will be more in the 28-21 range, and someone might crack the 30 point mark if they are lucky.

As small as Wright is I can't imagine letting him have many carries this week either. A matchup one on one between he and Johnson could get ugly

The key for Catholic is definately how good they can run the ball. It will be needed to take pressure off of the pass game. Catholic did have a little of success running some toss plays late against Trigg so we will see how that works out. I still don't understand why Trigg ran man coverage. I agree that Fort Campbell will run more zone because reagrdless of how good of athletes you have no player can cover a receiver for as long as Trigg was having to. I don't know if I can take another game like two years ago, it was so up and down.

The Martin that was at UL is in Owensboro coaching, I think the other is at UK but as a walkon and might not even be playing. Mcgraw is not playing at UK anymore. So that leaves Lanham who is not playing this year and I don't know about the future, Millay who I have no idea about, and Barnard. Gabe Wallace will be returning to UK next year from I have heard.

Wright is playing baseball at KWC, Randolph is going to school at UK nothing more, Barnard is redshirted at Marshall, and Lanham is at Western but not playing this year. I will give you some legitimate reasons on who will win the game. Fort Campbell has much more talent, that is unarguable. Catholic has better coaches, again unarguable. To me that evens out and you have a close game and I just can't decide who wins. What do you think?

The only reason I wouldn't put Fort Campbell in the top three is because they have not won the region championship in that period. That record is quite impressive though.

I was kind of wondering that myself. For some reason i have this feeling that he will be 100% come gametime.

You would have to say that Belfry and Fort Campbell are the favorites over Russell.

This was a great game for the Aces. They struggled big time early trying to stop Trigg but as the game progressed Catholic started to make the plays. What really hurt Trigg was their depth and the fact that they had to resort to the pass. Once Catholic got the big lead Trigg was just chucking it down field not really knowing where it was going. The two big players for Catholic were Holland, as Scribe said, and the TE Norcia. He made some really nice plays and opened some things up. I still don't know why Trigg is going to run man coverage after it has cost them so much the last two years. It is obvious that Trigg had some very nice athletes in the secondary but you can only cover a guy for so long before he gets open. Catholic really struggled running the ball against this defense so we will see how that plays out next week. I think we are going to see the same gameplan for Fort Campbell, no huddle and lots of passing.

I don't know how you can say Cathiolic has trouble stopping people. Like Rambo said that 2003 defense was the best in 2a. Last year was obviously a struggle but we still shut down Trigg. This years defense is not to shabby though. If you look at points allowed and total yards given up by the remaining 16 teams in 2a this catholic team is not far from the top. On a side not has anyone looked at Fort Campbell's defensive stats. They are only allowing 4.7 points per game and 111.4 yards per game. Those are like playstation numbers on the easiest level.

My concern is not the pass game of Trigg, I believe we can contain that. My big concern is stopping their run game. The Aces can't afford to miss the number of tackles they did against Heath.

I can agree with that.

On point (1)- Catholic dominated Apollo. It was one of the better games we have played IMO. By the way that is the same Apollo team that just walked on Marshall Co. Also Catholic can and does line it up punch you in the mouth and dominate the trenches. Look at the rushing stats, averaging nearly 200 yards on the ground per game. (2) I would say that Monroe and caldwell are fairly evenly matched, see this past weekend. I went to every game of the aces this year and Edmonson and Glasgow were better teams than Heath. If I had to say these districts are even. (3)South Spencer lost in the third round, sectional finals. They beat Tell City in the first round 29-27 and North Knox in the second 41-6. Catholic also lead 28-7 in the South Spencer game but the rebels scored late to make it appear close. (4) I agree with point 4

That is what I can't figure out. I picked a rather high scoring game but I am not sure if it will be that way. Both of these teams seem to have very potent offenses but they also seem to have capable defenses. Either way, high or low scoring, it will be a close game.

O Cath 35 Trigg 31

I still can't figure out where the catholic o-line has struggled. They have been the one constant that has been good every game. No matter who else has struggled on this team the o-line has come to play every game.

Catholic certainly has the ability to grind it out this year. The o-line has been absolutely dominant and allowed Catholic to have success doing whatever they wanted. That might be the biggest differance from last year. We can control the clock now if we need to but we also have the ability score in one play with the bomb.

I don't think I can make a prediction yet because I see this game being so close. I think if anybody sees this game being won by more than a TD either way needs to rethink it. These teams seem to evenly matched on paper.

I know his cousin so I will see what I can figure out.
