  1. He wasn't in the family. Varsity Uniforms are for coach's family members. Time will tell about the master motivator. He soon will be a backup JV coach again.
  2. It's a shame but he was. Ask your coach. I would not say it if it wasn't true. Your Coach was mad because he was working out somewhere else. It looks like his own workout was better for him.
  3. That would be a lack of motivational gesture. The kid is a player and can shoot. Why try to take his confidence from him. That is bad coaching to do to a shooter. Now it looks like the player is making the coach look good, if that is possible.
  4. Connor is a great player and maybe the best shooter in the state. Was given a JV uniform to start the year.
  5. They were the better team and deserved to win. They did not need the help they got numerous times. The White Hat did not make YouTube because he was a good reciever.
  6. The 6 motion penalties against NCC was the result of Ft. Cambell D-line yelling "hut" during the NCC cadence. From talking to different coach's this has been a common practice with them this year. It is the officials job to call this.
  7. People can say what they want and they are opinions. What I know is there are allot of kids who are happy about a 6 class system. If there are happier players, fans and parents and more money for the schools, how bad can it be.
  8. NKU20 is not a fan of New Cath. If he is,then he would not try to cause problems. This far into the season the best play. Most programs the freshman would have played Varsity all year. Everyone one was given a chance and they did not make the most of their opportunity. The freshman did and should play. Go Breds. The players know and the parents whine.
  9. I like the professional youth football coach comment. They told me there would be a lump sum check when I am finished. It now has turned into a retirement fund I am counting on. The only thing is I am a rookie when it comes 8 other coach's who have been in the NKYFL longer then me. I have learned lots from guys like Wayne Slusher and Keith Culp over 35 years each. This has been a great thread because it has hit on all the positives and negatives of youth sports. I was a coach who was after the Gold Ball, sad to admit. It wasn't until I started putting the kids first that I learned what it is all about. Sometimes we are teaching the kids, Sometimes they are teaching us. They want to all play and have fun.
  10. The article and tread was turned into a comparison of 2 leagues. When Henry started his blueprint comment and talked about change over the years but came back to what it is. He sounds like they were first and other people followed. When the exact opposite occurred. NKYFL was started first and you went your different way. I believe that both work, if it works for the kids. Some people do not like the way we do it, and there are people who do not like your system. The numbers speak for themselves. As far as playing time. My comment showed that special teams is not way kids play for us. All of our kids played allot of football with our 2's and 3's playing more. Over 1/2 of the game. We do practice 2-3 times a week.
  11. The ftyfl pats itself on the back for being wrong. The blueprint you are following is the NKYFL, which will be celebrating its 50th Year of Football with numerous different celebrations already in the works for next year. The NKYFL was established in the 1958. Often imitated but never duplicated.
  12. We could not have the same success. But our system is designed because of the 13 teams of 10-11 years in Campbell County. (4-Nkyfl, 4 CCYFL, 5 FTYFL). We play with the cards dealt to us and it is modified every year. 2006 with 35 kids, our white and blue team started 6 games. 2005 same system but had 28 of 32 players scored. If we get 40 players next year this system would struggle to have that kind of success.
  13. The Red Devil Jr team had 31 players and we won the the Super Bowl. But that is not what is important. What is important is the fact that everyone played in every game and we accomplished both goals. Gaining confidence with playing time in a competitive environment. We have used this system for over years. It took me years to learn this but it has paid off for all the kids. The playing time was not equal. Our white (2ND) and blue (3rd) team played more than our red (1st) teams. Our white and blue teams started 4 games this year. 24 of the 31 players scored. Each team and leagues have different systems and ours took time to develop but the results speak for them self.
  14. The picture tells alot. Notice the pancake block #77 put on #76. Great shot!!!
  15. Thanks, we will need it against a very good and well coached Spartans. The key is blocking lil Ru at nose. Good luck to him, he is fine young man and football player.
  16. BCPWFL is a great league and do great things for the kids in Boone County. The Red Devils have played in a Pre-Season game over at their field for a couple of years and they have treated our kids like their own. It is easy to take shots on coach's and league administors when there is alittle adversity. Keep your heads up and follow the advice you give your players everyday. When you get knocked around get back up and keep working. The cream always rises to the top.
  17. You forgot Newport, who are very good and have alot of spped.
  18. Spartans Sr's Spartan's Jr's Midget Division can be 1 of 5 Teams. Most competitive divisions. Raider's Pee Wee's
  19. Here are some points to ponder: - After Brother Johns leaving the football program like he did, feelings toward admin. Willie is not in the mix. - Football field fued leaves anyone from Brossart out. - To big of change from office to teacher/coach keeps Seiter at Bellevue. - Carr has a great thing at Scott, Only change would be for Holmes, if any. - If the math and years works out, one of the best coach ever in NKY will be at Campbell next year.
  20. NDA misses Tierny and Jackson. But subs played great. Foul with :18 second PCC at the line.
