  1. Breathitt's made a ton of mistakes the first couple of games, on both sides of the ball. But they have still won in convincing fashion. Now sometimes that means they are a good enough team to overcome mistakes and sometimes it means the other team is just way worse or made more mistakes, At any rate, unless Breathitt limits their turn-overs and plays good run defense, they will lose this one. So I hope they come together and get a win!
  2. I was thinking it was Mason that laid it on the Bobcats that year?
  3. Breathitt 20-6 or something like that. Bobcats looked much improved.
  4. He was referencing the quote about Knott, I think.
  5. stronger then last year but still not up to "strong" status, IMO.
  6. His first year at Breathitt I think.
  7. All schools are in the rotation to host. But in one rotation Breathitt will host it once but it will be hld in their gym 3 times, one is theirs, one is Jackson City and one is Riverside.
  8. The only thing I would take issue with you on is Powell County. Not the seating nor the parking but IMO the Gym is the worst on the list. The fans set right on the floor and as we have seen in the past that leads to big trouble sometimes with them pouring onto the floor to fight the players. Plus, just to go get a pepsi you almost surely have to walk on the edge of the floor. I just don't like it.
  9. '06 was Knott '05 Hazard '04 Breathitt '03 Powell '02 Perry '? Thing that's hart to keep straight is that schools that are too small to host the region do it at say Perry or Breathitt ot Knott or one of the larger gyms.
  10. I agree . The stars aligned for Jackson last year, weakest region in 25 years and best team they had had in 25 years, but they should be competitive this year also as the region will still be down and they have some returning players.
  11. I'm hearing Coach Hall is on his way up the hill to Jackson City. Good for him.:ylsuper:
  12. Ha, I was responding to your statement actually about Banks. I agree with you on that one. Banks seems to be in but I haven't heard any official announcements. You know how things work around here. Someones name is mentioned a few months ago, then the rumors go through the system about other people, then it ends up exactly the way you heard it the first time!
  13. Coach Hall is a good fellow. Over the last 10 years Breathitt went to Rupp in '96, got rid of Coach Denny the next year, hired Jim Rose, won maybe 10 games in a 3 year period, fired him and hired Coach Baker who brought back basketball winning 20 plus games in each of his last two years which got him canned. They hire Brian who wins 20 plus games in each of his first two years. Then comes along this young group of kids who many of the parents think should immediately go to Rupp but instead, they win 3 or 4 games. Must be the coach! The Superintendent changed last year and the new coach is close to him. He's an ok guy and I wish him well, but Breathitt's team last year was doomed to failiar years earlier. They spent 3 years in middle school and all the concentration was on them. Kids a year or two older quit the sport which is now being reflected as a team without any Juniors or seniors last year and no seniors on the team this year. I think that hurts a team. So, the unrealistic expectations of last years team, a decrease in talent level, and politics did in coach Hall, IMO. Owsley and Powell are both looking for coaches. At Powell I think Baker should have the first shot at the job if he wants it but I'm hearing he may be happy as the assistant, but don't know for sure.
  14. Hollon played the 2 quite a bit this season and really had his best scoring efforts from that position. He's a shooter and a good one and at that position he gets more opportunities.
  15. The stud led his team to a 4-23 season. I've seen Neeley hit 20 + out of 30 so anyone would let him do that, and he's as good of ballhandler, IMO and probably a better defender at this point. But, it's probably moot as no one knows he's transfering, etc.
  16. Hollon would be better suited for the 2 guard. Neeley is better at running the offense.
  17. Very tough loss, young guys, give 'em a break, IMO.
  18. Tough way to go out Tigers. You made believers out of a lot of people. Congratulations on runner up.
  19. Great game, well played and well coached by Kyle Livley! Take care of Hazard.
  20. I know this is a bit off the subject but how's folks around Knott County feel about the basketball situation up there? A couple of years ago they did a coaching switch. Knott's coach went to Cordia and Cordia's coach went to Knott. Last year Cordia knocks off Knott in the first round, this year Cordia makes the big show and Knott is a no-show! So far it looks like Cordia came out ahead on the switch? Just an outsidders perception.
  21. There won't be a review, no one will request it. Jackson can't play Wolfe in the 1st round anyway plus Coach Livley wouldn't do that anyway.
