  1. This is true. However, I am banking on the possibility that after playing two very emotional games against FTH and Lex Cath that the CovCath players may view Johnson Central as not being a worthy opponent. I think it depends on how much rain we get this week as to whether it will make a difference or not. For the most part the field has been in decent shape except in the red zone...a little muddy there. I think JCs Defense is as good as any in 3A. The Golden Eagles showed they could adjust quickly, playing a zone for the first time this season Friday night against Rockcastle. I believe it will match up with CovCath. Go Eagles!!!
  2. No doubt that CCH has had a tougher road to get to this point in the season. But, the question I have is about the health. I had read that a couple of DBs were injured. If this is the case, how injured are they and how much did the brutal schedule have to do with these injuries? Johnson Central is relatively healthy for this time of the year.
  3. Cupcake City...Just ask certain Ashland and Rockcastle fans...they will tell you all about it. In all seriousness, quality of opponents was down somewhat this season. However, the Golden Eagles have been able to overcome what many consider a lack of quality opponents. Actually, Jc has had trouble finding teams that are willing to schedule games close to home. Looks like Coach Matney and the boys are going to have to travel north to find quality opponents that are willing to play.
  4. :sssh: Let them think what they want...we all know that there is No Way JC can hang with the Big Boys from the north. After all, we are in the middle of nowhere...and since we never leave the middle of nowhere our boys will be scared to death to play those "city kids."
  5. We all need to put some signs along the Mtn. Pkwy that Says: Johnsonville 75 miles Johnsonville 50 miles etc...
  6. All I can say is WOW!!! Well, I guess I can say a little bit more. What a performance by the Golden Eagles. One game a way from PJS...as a life-long JC fan I never thought I would be able to say that. What a night for Grimm... 25 carries 279 yards 3 TDs
  7. That touchdown was through the air too...JK to Tommy Taylor
  8. Now that's funny right there...I don't care who you are...that's funny right there now.
  9. Why is everyone so worried about JC being painted as the underdog? To me, that is the best thing that could happen in this game. I hope no one gives JC a chance to win this game. And, I hope the JC players feel that they are being slighted as well. Sometimes it is good to play with a chip on your shoulder...that chip seemed to help Ashland tremendously last week. Go Eagles!!!
  10. Yep. Stay on 460 until it intersects with Rt. 321. That will be the second stop light once you get on 460. Turn right at that light. Go throught two more stop lights...you will immediately see JC on your left. Football field is behind the school...can't miss those Friday Night Lights. It's only about 15 miles once you get on 460.
  11. Never though of that...maybe I should give him a break. Hey...I wonder if he does that when no one is looking at the threads...kinda like the question "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it does it make a sound?" or..."how do we know if the light goes off when we close the refridgerater door?"
  12. Ashland fumbled the ball eight times during the game, losing two of them. Which, by the way, Johnson Central turned into 14 points on the scoreboard. If there was any luck involved in that game, it was definitely on the side of Ashland. All of the other six fumbles by the Tomcats hit perfectly on the ground and bounced right back into the hands of the player that fumbled it. Also, if Rockcastle wants to hand JC the underdog tag I say they wear it proudly. Not that I have first-hand knowledge or experience in dealing with a football team that is 12-0...but I would imagine that just about all of the motivational speeches have been given. Nothing motivates players like a healthy lack of respect...and when a coach can honestly tell his players that they are not expected to win and that everyone is waiting for them collapse, in my opinion, that will more than fire up Johnson Central this week. Now, who will be the first to reply to this post with the following..."If JC needs help getting motivated for this game there is something wrong"...any takers?
