  1. This is the key. The second-shot games under the old system would not have happened until the third round of the playoffs. And, in many cases, would never have materialized. There will be some massive gates this weekend as most of the district foes are not that far apart in terms of miles.
  2. This is more like it...actually debating the game!!! Wohoo!! :dancingpa The same thing was said last year about Blume. And, magicly Grimm appeared this season. Ian Welch could be a 100 yard-plus back every game. So could Nathan Dillon. As a matter of fact, so could Chase Richardson. The problem is this...if you want to call it a problem. Grimm has been sooooo good this year...why would you want to take the ball out of his hands? When the other backs have gotten carries they have made the most of their opportunities. If you want to find out how good the other backs are, find a way to stop Grimm and you will get a chance to see first hand. Again, the running game has been soooo good this season that JC has not had to put the ball in the air. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I just hope we get a chance to find out if that statement is true. Good luck Friday night and have a safe trip to "The Nest."
  3. Having actually attempted this type of project before, I agree whole-heartedly with Guru about the amount of time, effort and money needed to put together a hard-copy publication. Unless one has the time to devote to the effort as one would with a full-time job, it is virtually impossible. From past experience, one of the hardest things to accomplish is finding reliable, competant individuals to work in advertising and distribution...both of which are critical in making this type of project fly. Also, printing costs are out-of-this-world expensive...unless one is willing to publish a cheap-looking product. However, I would say that a virtual publication is something that would be much more feasible.
  4. He played a series or two in the Paintsville game. Actually, I believe his official return came the following week.
  5. That makes perfect sense. I can understand how a 50-6 drubbing of a team that nearly defeated Ashland the week before could make one pick Ashland over JC. Nice logic. :thumb:
  6. Does anyone know if those "Wide Right" T-shirts are still for sale?
  7. Congrats Tomcats...See you next Friday. Have a safe trip back to "The Nest."
  8. I agree with you completely!!! This is a must-win game...otherwise this season is a failure for the Golden Eagles. Actually, for this team, I feel that anything less than a Regional Title will be a failure. Regular-season wins are nice but you have to get it done in the playoffs. As for the second requirement...I believe they are working on that as well. :thumb:
  9. Dick Gabriel was talking ablout all of the recruits that were there today after the game. What a time for a huge win. 7 wins are not that far away. If the Cats take care of Vandy it's almost a lock...wait...this is UK...nevermind. But, this win was sweet!!!
  10. I look for the outcome to be pretty close to the same as last time. I believe JC will be ready for this one. They know wat is expected. The only thing that bothers me...and I guess this is really just silly superstition...is the is the difficulty of maintaining a perfect record. There are not many teams that have the ability to run the table. This may sound crazy...but I almost wish this team had a loss on their record. I guess that goes back to playing a tougher non-district schedule. With that said...I still believe JC rolls in this one. JC 42 Ashland 7
  11. It's good to get that first win under the belt. Ashland/JC II next week. I just hope the Golden Eagles don't start as sluggishly next week as they did tonight. BTW...BC really started playing better as the season wore on. Just ran into a very tough team tonight. Congrats Eagles!!!
  12. Guys...I'm out....hope you enjoyed the updates.
  13. Nathan dillon loses 2...2nd and 17 5:49 remaining in the game
  14. BC jumps offside...3rd and 5...Dennis Dillon keeps it for the 21 yard TD.
  15. Nathan Dillon picks up 10 yards...3rd and 10 at the 26
  16. Holding JC...Nathan Dillon on the run...2nd and 20
  17. Bad snap...JC recovers...takes over on the BC 25
