I think a lot of HHS players handle their roles well. Quite obvious out there. Eaton, Hudepohl, Smith all come in and play hard to help out the team. Eaton put some good defense on Heil tonight in the second half. Hudepohl played some great minutes. Didn't have his typical 3 flying but made great contributions while Vories was out and again in the second half. Smith worked hard as usual to get some rebounds. Had a great take away and took it down the court and passed off to Simpson for an easy layup to give the Birds the half time lead. Vories speaks for himself when he can come back after half after taking a foot to the eye and hitting back to back shots (one a three) in the second half. Jeff takes the game in his hands and the rest of the Birds take their place to make the team. Again, hats off to Coach Schlarman for keeping them focused.

So according to you the ref called every foul on the floor tonight??? And I think Coach Schlarmann will sit one of his players every time they get a "T" to calm them down and straighten them out.

I forgot that was why coach was running on the floor. At least two of the coaches were trying to get a "T" called for the backboard hit and not a timeout. I think Ben takes a lot of heat due to his name. I would take a guy like Ben on my team every time. He has heart and is a competitor. He is the player every other team loves to hate. I think Cov Cath and NC had more cheers for Ben than they did for their own team. Rumor was on the court after the game the "T" on the court was reversed and was counted as a personal foul. Heard that as the refs were coming out of the locker room.

Guess holding onto a player isn't a foul??

Looked from my perspective that the NCC player tried to hold onto Guidugli. Guidugli got a little upset. Ref said he stepped on him. Ben said he didn't. Thought the calls were a little lopsided in the 2nd half. I think NCC was just about in the bonus before they got a foul called on them. Seemed like NCC's big guys got away with a lot under the HHS basket. I thought Guesenhues was more out of control tonight than BG. But he didn't get a T?? Also curious as to why NCC Coach didn't get a T for storming the ref on the court. Supposedly was trying to call a timeout, what a joke. Another Birds Victory - Big congrats to the team and the coaches. A long hard week of practice and two tough games! 13-1 How sweet it sounds!

I won't guarantee a win for the Birds but I will say I don't think either team will be destroyed. :fight:

The birds are playing a lot of games and playing a lot of men. Three games in four days in Marion County, three games in Three days in Carroll County. Willie is getting these boys ready for two wars this week. I think it is the battle against the Catholics weekend. Cov Cath Friday night and New Cath on Saturday. If they win both of these games, hopefully a lot of the weak schedule talk will go away.

thanks Colonel Crazy. Should be a fun game Friday night. Hope the refs really let them play. HHS just came back from the 5th region where they let them get in there and play some aggressive basketball.

Who has Cov Cath played and beat this year?

I love to know why everyone is picking on HHS easy schedule. This week they play Cov Cath and New Cath Away, Dixie at home. They have played every game away so far this year. They won a tourney in Carroll County, they had two big wins in Marion County. Let's hear who your teams have played that make your schedules so tough. I say HHS will win by 12 tonight against Dixie. Big Home crowd will help the Birds.

Birds go 10 -1! Tanner Johnson and Jeffrey Vories make the all tourney team. Johnson had 22 points, Vories had 25. Birds rattled the team late in the game. Couldn't get the ball down the court.

Tanner Johnson banged in 26 points. Shots weren't falling for the Birds early but they were able to take a one point lead in to the 2nd quarter and a half time lead as well. Played a strong second half. Were able to break the press often in the second half for easy scores. Play Pennsylvania school tomorrow.

Etown had it all tonight. The zone was killing the guards from HHS. They couldn't get the ball inside for anything. The junior Stephon lived up to his billing. Hate to see how many turnovers the Birds had tonight. Back in action on Thursday most likely against Louisville Iroqouis.

HHS came back strong after a close one to Boone County. They won by 36 early today against a small Gallatin County team and then posted a 25 point victory over the home team at Carroll County. Jeff Vories had an awesome tourney. He had 28 points in the championship game, 28 points one other day as well. He was MVP. Tanner Johnson and Ben Guidugli and Nic Simpson were all on the all tournament team. HHS got great play from Chad Hudepohl, Greg McGraw, and Michael Eaton as well. Greg and Chad took turns in the starting spot in the absence of Michael Smith. I think HHS played every player but Smith on their long roster the last two games. Greg Eaton saw limited time in the last two games after he took a blow to the mouth and bit through his lip. They had a few lapses in today's games but for the most part looked really strong. Defense was a key. Johnson took a lot of charges, Guidugli was on fire from the three in the first game today. Great weekend for the Birds! Now rest up and have a great Holiday before you take on powerful Elizabethtown next week in the Marion County tournament. 8-0 - What a difference a year makes
