Just to make sure the Devils have an edge in this one, I'll pick GC. Greenup is not close to where I thought they would be at this point, but they have the talent. Both teams should continue to improve.

The Ol Duckster has enjoyed flying with the Eagles so far this year. However, in keeping my promise to The Wizard, I will never pick the Eagles to win this year. They will be a fun team to watch, so get your tickets early.

Some members of the previous coaching staff. With the experience that Skaggs, Alexander, Stapleton and Whittaker along with others recieved last year, this year's team should be better. I believe that they will be.:thumb:

It's not like the program has been down for an extended period. Russell had one bad year, that even the most faithful Devil fan should have seen coming. Everyone involved believed it would take 3 years, including last year, to compete for the region again. It may take another year, so support Coach Kidwell and let the kids have fun. Had it not been for two key injuries, I believe the Devils would have won three regionals in a row. 2005, 2006, 2007 2003 15-15 lost to Ashland in the region semi-final on a last second shot. 43-41 2004 17-11 lost to Morgan Co in the region semi-final. 49-44 2005 18-13 lost to Rowan Co in the region final. 53-45 after Russell's leading scorer, Derek Sloane, dislocated his shoulder in the first quarter. 2006 18-14 Won the 16th region final defeating Elliott Co. 56-52 2007 27-5 Lost to Elliott Co in the region semi-final 51-35 (Without Vanhoose) 2008 3-26 After losing 10 of the their top 12 players from 2007, including the two projected starters who moved.

I believe the Fairview score was 62-58 and it was a hard fought game. Chesapeake is a very good team. Chesapeake played Boyd Co immediately following the Fairview game and they were ahead by 15 in the 2nd quarter when we had to leave.

Sorry, I thought Rose Hill was playing Boyd Co @ 7:30.

Fairview plays South Point in the second game. I think Raceland is in the first game and Rose Hill plays third but I don't remember who they play.

Ms. Frances has moved back to Ashland and is a bigger Tomcat fan than ever, if that's possible. She doesn't have time to post but she did say hello to everyone.

That is correct. Mason could name the score in this one. Middleton is a very nice player and GC had no answer for him.

Adkins appeared to be the only player not intimidated. He played full tilt the whole game.

I believe Stapleton had 29 for Russell. You can't leave him open! Apparently the Bears never picked up on this. Kyle Skaggs and Tanner Alexander shot well also. PJ Goble played well off the bench and could crack the starting lineup before long. Congrats to the Devils and Coach Kidwell!:thumb:
