  1. Delk should do well for Pitino. The curse of the "Pitino" at UL continues. I wish them well in all but one game...guess which one.
  2. Look for an album out of USC soon. OJ on the mic with Romeo in back up...it is a can't miss.
  3. Another good signing is another good sign!
  4. Kentucky 4 wins 0 losses. Rosters aren't complete...but soon!!
  5. I agree! PP would be a great fit and UK really wants him! Why not let everyone know where you are going? If he is going to play this up, who is to say he won't take his shoes off when he gets benched and then refuse to go back in? I don't get a good feeling about him. Why does he say he doesn't mind taking a back seat to OJ's media frenzy then continue to hold several college programs in limbo, it just does not make sense to me. If UK gets him I am sure I will have a better feeling about him but if he or Lucas or both go to UF then I can't wait until UK gets a shot at them!!
  6. 5. PRP 4. Beechwood 3. Pulaski County 2. Shelby County 1. Franklin Simpson TB: Shelby County
  7. If he is definitely not coming to UK he could just tell EVERYONE he is not coming! Interesting that he has never publicly said "he is not interested"! Isn't it?
  8. 1st Round 1 Lincoln County 1 Scott County 1 Fairdale 1 Holmes 1 Ballard 1 Christian County 1 Shelby Valley 1 Warren Central Semi-final 2 Scott County 2 Fairdale 2 Ballard 2 Warren Central Championship 3 Scott County 3 Ballard Sweet 16 Champion 5 Scott County TB=155
  9. Trotter and Tandy from Christian County. They are fantastic athletes with good basketball skills and have equally gifted athletes around them...about 10 more.
  10. While we are voting let's have all the best players from every team in the state play for one Mr. Basketball. If we are going to vote for a state champion let's do the opposite for Mr. Basketball. A one game loser goes home tourney. They can play at Rupp and we can play many more games in one day. Then we could crown one TRUE best player in the state. What do you think?
  11. You are probably right. If they were to class private and public seperate as well I would say 100% of the 10 public school coaches would be for it.:thumb:
  12. Those kind of stats in the 2nd half remind me of UK vs. Georgetown 1984! Great job Assumption.
  13. Has anyone ever told that you are "special"? As I understand it the term "special" can carry multiple meanings and it is usually a subjective thing not needing to be supported nor debated. I hope all your days are "special" days. I can agree to disagree with you on this one. I really don't know why it seems to be such a strong point for you to make about a team that did something good for their small school system.
  14. By the way they beat last year's Caldwell County's bunch during the regular season. That was one of their 11 wins. For Dawson it was special. First time double digit wins since 1999. First Regional appearance since 1997. Special is all relative my friend but to that small school system...that was a talented group.
  15. I am not from Dawson but I have heard these things about them. I am just using them as an example. Dawson Springs used to be a large school but when schools consolidated into "County" schools the "City" schools and those who have remained independent and public have fallen behind because of districting arrangements. Back in the day Dawson made 6 trips to the state tourney finishing runner up once. Providence and Harrodsburg fought the good fight for the little guys for as long as they could. Sadly, I feel that the Wal-Mart mentality of bigger is better leaves a lot of kids behind. True small schools have kids getting the right to an education and having the ability to participate in high school athletics when they couldn't make the 1st cut at a huge school. Providence and Dawson Springs have dressed 8th graders for varsity play routinely in past to the present, but not because the middle schoolers are especially gifted but because these two example schools don't have enough high school players to fill out the 15 student athlete spots on a varsity roster. Providence did not have a junior varsity last year at all and from what I am hearing Dawson Springs will have one filled with middle schoolers this year, if they do have one. 7 or so high school kids are supposed to return from last year's 5-21 squad at Dawson and Providence will be absorbed into Webster County. Where does this leave us in the classing discussion? Is it fair for these types schools to play schools with 500, 1000 or 2000+ enrollments? I don't have your answer on fairness but I do know they get the opportunity to knock off a Goliath almost every night even in the BIBLE there was only one Goliath. This is where the small schools are at right now. Just imagine picking a 15 person team from Wyoming to play a 15 person team from Ohio, Indiana or Kentucky, I am not sure of the exact populations but surely you get the picture. Now take that same team and play the best from New York, Texas and California. Is that fair? Random thoughts from a wandering mind.
  16. Dun-dun-da-dunt! Westsider to the rescue, again!:thumb:
  17. Sounds good for me. I would love to see the Patriots win it all. It will take alot of luck and hard work for both of these teams but it is possible, but considering the teams that made it, improbable.
  18. 1.Scott County(30-2) 2.Ballard(32-2) 3.Warren Central(28-4) 4.Christian County(28-4) 5.Owensboro(24-8) 6.South Laurel(28-5) 7.Fairdale(24-7) 8.George Rogers Clark(25-7) 9.Paducah Tilghman(25-7) 10.Holmes(23-9) 11.Shelby Valley(29-3) 12.Lincoln County(24-9) 13.Adair County(23-9) 14.Oldham County(23-6) 15.Elliott County(24-6) 16.June Buchanan(26-6)
  19. Last season, Dawson Springs had a special group come through their basketball program, much like Caldwell County this year. Dawson Springs made the regional tourney for the 1st time in years and played Henderson County in the region 2 first round. Henderson had over 10x the number of kids to choose from to fill 15 spots. Dawson's enrollment was under 200...Henderson County's enrollment 2000+. Talk about a miss match. End result, Henderson won by 45 points and crushed a small public school after the small school slipped by Hopkins County Central (1000+) and lost by 15 to Madisonville-North Hopkins over (1000+). In the class "A" region Dawson Springs was beaten by UHA by 15 points. Region 2 class A public schools have a hard time competing with UHA, a private school of under 200 but most of us know about this monster. So what special tourney do you have to get the "private" basketball factory schools out of the class "A" class system? Reguardless of what you do there are going to be some issues that don't bode well with everyone. I love basketball, I love to win and I love the state of Kentucky. With that being said, are we more concerned with offering more championships to give more student athletes a chance to enjoy the elation that comes from competing or are we more concerned with getting a true champion of the state?
  20. If GRC has 10+ athletes, pressure handlers and defenders you can hang in there for 4 quarters and beat them. Henderson County is one of the largest schools in the state but still gave up the ball, they did hold the score down...consequently they still lost!! The larger floor in Rupp may be a blessing or may be a curse. Entertaining game, yes. One of the better games? We will see. Get your refreshments before the game and at half time sounds like the game should be at a frenetic pace. Good luck to both.
  21. If the stats from the radio are right Henderson had 26 TO's vs. Christian.
