  1. Trigg County is out of all "A" over enrollment #'s 1. UHA, again! Lost 5 starters but reload 2. Ft. Campbell--Rodney Rogers returns but lost Micah Johnson 3. Webster County--lost Rollins and Hust, just under enrollment limit, next year they absorb Providence Ind. and will probably exit all "A" status 4. Crittenden County--return the Courtney bros. 5. Livingston Central--Jimmy Croft former Crittenden Coach takes over 6. Dawson Springs--lost Derek Scott a honorable mention all state and 4 other seniors 7. Providence--last dance for the Bulldogs, they are scheduled to be absorbed into the Webster County system next year-they won the 7th district tourney 2 years ago beating Hopkins Central by 32 in the final but they do return Labrice Williams 8. Lyon County--return a young team that were win-less last season...they won't be win-less this season but will struggle some
  2. Is Mackins back? I thought he left the team last year to go back to Cairo, Ill. Matt Fraliex 6' 3" from Caldwell County may be the POY in the second region.
  3. Matt Fraliex Caldwell County one of the best out west.
  4. Take region 2 for example... 5 class A schools made it to the region in alphabetical order: Crittenden County Dawson Springs Ft. Campbell Trigg County Webster County 3 AAAA schools made the region: Christian County Henderson County Madisonville-North Hopkins Christian County puts out Crittenden County by 24 points with pressure defense, physcial play and 10-12 man rotation. Henderson County puts out Dawson Springs by 45 with pressure defense, physical play and 10-12 man rotation. Henderson County puts out Trigg County by 18 with pressure defense, physical play and 10-12 man rotation after Trigg beat Ft. Campbell by 31. Madisonville-North Hopkins puts out Webster County by only 8 playing 1-3-1 and zone 3/4 court pressing 2-1-2. When 4A schools met Christian beat Madisonville by 4. Christian beat Henderson by 2. If you don't understand the numbers or see past the large school mentality and if you understand basketball you have to see a pattern. Facts are facts. It happened earlier this month. 5. Even David knew that he needed to keep his distance from Goliath to beat Goliath. :fight::argue: Larger schools can literally beat on the smaller schools 6-8 man rotation for 32 minutes with 10-12 players and wear them down or foul them out. I have seen this done many times by the larger schools in the district and regional tourneys. Officials don't want to disrupt the "flow" of the game by calling a foul on every possession so they let it go. This has snowballed into raslin' in the paint and pure basketball has been snuffed out. Larger schools have a larger number of bigger, faster and stronger athletes that can eliminate the skilled athletes that work on the fundamentals of the game. Pressure defenses, hand checking and raslin' in the paint is allowed and the price we pay for letting it happen is a loss of pure fundamental basketball. Being aggressive is different from a physical beating. The smallest of schools will not be seen in the sweet sixteen until someone makes teams play basketball and not basketbrawl and so it goes...
  6. The physical play of basketball not only limits the offensive opportunities but disrupts the flow of the game. Larger schools can literally beat on the smaller schools 6-8 man rotation for 32 minutes with 10-12 players an wear them down or foul them out. I have seen this done many times by the larger schools. The talent level in Kentucky is not down the style of play is allowed to test the "boundaries of officials". Officials don't want to disrupt the "flow" of the game by calling a foul on every possession so they let it go. This has snowballed into raslin' in the paint and pure basketball has been snuffed out. If you have bigger, faster and stronger athletes then you will eliminate the skilled athletes that work on the fundamentals of the game. Take a look at girl's basketball, the evolution is starting to take hold in one of the only pure forms of basketball left in Kentucky. Pressure defenses, hand checking and raslin' in the paint is allowed and the price we pay for letting it happen is a loss of pure "fun"amental basketball. Being agressive is different from a physical beating. Even David knew that he needed to keep his distance from Goliath to beat him. Pure basketball will not be seen in the sweet sixteen until someone makes teams play basketball and not basketbrawl and so it goes...
  7. Henderson's last second shot from about 5 feet was blocked by Christian County. The last 2 minutes of the game was very entertaining. Christian's athleticism and depth will make them hard to handle but they do lack size in the paint. Could be their down-fall in Rupp!
  8. 1.Heath 2.Christian County 3.O'Cath 4.Warren Central 5.Elizabethtown 6.DeSales 7.Male 8.Shelby County 9.Highlands 10.Pendleton County 11.Scott County 12.Lincoln County 13.South Laurel 14.Leslie County 15.Belfry 16.Morgan County 13th region
  9. Lyon plays Trigg Co. don't expect a turn around there. Lyon's kids play really hard but they are outmatched physically.
  10. Paintsville 5pt super game Warren Central Scott County Franklin County Central vs. Ballard Christian Academy-Louisville Ashland Blazer St. Henry East Jessamine Nelson County TB=128
  11. 6'4" SG Matt Fraliex Caldwell County should be included in all top five Jr.'s lists. I don't have his stats but he is one of the leaders in the state in pts, ft's, and 3pts. 5'7" PG Rodney Davis Trigg County might make it.
  12. Rogers kid from Ft. Campbell can fly. Scotty Hopson from UHA can flat get up too.
  13. From the west end of KY...Josh Mack is not 6' anything!! More like 5'9" (in shoes) but quickness and PG skills aren't measured in height, this kid can play!! Jones is explosive and is better suited at the 2 guard. His leaping ability will suprise you if you havn't seen him play. He can take off ANYWHERE in the lane and throw it down. Ard well he is B-I-G and has decent post moves and footwork.
  14. 3's vs. 2's can those kids step out on the three? Can they stop dribble penetration? Just a guess!
