  1. Thank you all so much. My dad's speech is very slurred and he can not move his left arm and he is very confused. He is going to have to use thick it in his liquids. PT will be working with him starting tomorrow. The Doctor is saying it was a mini stroke. That is really all that we know for right now. I am just so numb. It is hard for me to see my dad confused and frail. My dad was always so strong and took care of everyone. I am believing for a miracle. I have faith that he will be himself. Run to state, that was a beautiful post and one that I will carry with me. I love you all so much. Just please, please keep praying. Thanks
  2. After my dad had his dialysis treatment today he suffered a stroke. I have seen what a BGP prayer chain can do with PH and others. Sadly, I need your help again. While your at it, please pray for my mom. I have never seen her so upset. My heart is breaking in pieces. Thank you all so much.
  3. They are cousins. George was at the JH game. Mrs PH told me that George smiled big time at me when I hugged Nacarius after the game! I don't know George, but I sure would like to!
  4. Omigosh, I'm a Bowling Green High Football Alumnus (1974-76), Team Historian, and a proud supporter who's seen or played in many games at my beloved Alma Mater. Where do I start? Possibly a good place to start would be to recognize all of the very informed opinions, positive talk, and respect from so many fellow posters here of what the Purples have accomplished with perhaps the greatest graduating class the school has ever seen. It was my priviledge and pleasure to present that senior class on page three of our home game program. The older posters (Watusi, Toothpick, etc.) know that I regard this website as a second family. That family has gotten much bigger now, and it isn't just with people who had kind things to say about BGHS or more big BGHS supporters. Hellbird, Slobberknocker, Avid Tiger, and many others are now part of this big wonderful family. A real touching site to see was after our game with John Hardin. The hearts of the BGHS fans went out to the JH players as they came off the field. I personally swapped skin with many of the players and saluted them at the same time. I wish that I had been able to have time to interact with the JH fans, some of the greatest and most sportsmanlike fans in Kentucky, but I did last year. Hang in there, Bulldog fans...your time will come! Scott Co wins their second state title...and both were won at WKU! Collins wins a title in storybook fashion so soon in their young history. Belfry wins their title on the strength of a single field goal. DeSales is the only Louisville team to win, and they win their first title ever. Mayfield and BGHS uphold the honor of the old Western Kentucky Conference (well, Mayfield is still there...BGHS is a former member). This is a season that won't soon be forgotten, and I am so glad that I was along for the ride!
  5. Trust me when I say that WKU got a real steal when Nacarius verbally committed to the Toppers! Of course, that means that I still get to see my young friend play locally and help WKU's offensive efforts, and that excites me!:thumb:
  6. Sadly, the Purples lose a senior class of 27 and the lion's share of their starters. However, some very good looking and experienced backups will be back next season. Both Kickers/Punters will be back as well. The DL looks to be a very strong group next season, and we will have something we haven't had for a while: an honest to goodness power back. We will not have this year's talent or experience, but we won't be anybody's pushover either. We will still be Bowling Green High...you know, that team that wears gold helmets with targets painted on them!:lol2:
  7. I am thrilled...these guys don't have the strength to give up LOL...they never give up!!! I am so proud of you all...celebrate, you deserve it....However, also be there for Bobby, he is really going to need you all....
  8. Please send prayers to the young man on the Purples' roster and his family, as they lost a family member today on what should have been a joyous occasion for them as well.
  9. The Purples show why they're Kentucky's best in 2013. They fell behind 14-0 to a fine Pulaski County team, then rattle off 49 points in a row! To the Pulaski County fans: you are going to have a monster of a team the next two years. You also really threw a scare in us early on...it could easily have been 21-0 early. Your players have nothing to hang their heads over! Best of luck in the near future!:thumb: To Purple Nation: never forget these past three years. Many things occurred these years for the first time, and I'm famous for saying that you can only do a first once. We may have a repeat of this someday, but these things were the first. To other folks who cheered us on and supported us: thanx so much...it really felt great! We made a lot of friends on this long, strange trip! We really appreciate it!:thumb:
  10. I know...this is so horrible. I feel so bad for Bobby and his family. Bobby is such a great kid...my heart is hurting so bad for him right now.
  11. Purples just don't give up....They do not know how to give up!!!!
  12. Pillow's TD run of 79 yds was the longest single rushing attempt for the Purples this year, beating Devin Hayes' 75 yd run against St X (yeah, you read that right!)
  13. Bummer!! I live on Three Springs Road and can't go! First, there's the overpass over the interstate, and it isn't supposed to be thawed out until 3PM. Then, around the flea market, it floods over the road...!:banghead:Add to that the fact that there's 90 percent chance of heavy rain and I'm in an electric wheelchair...!! Mrs PH and I are at home and feel grounded!
  14. I hate ice....It is now an icy mess here as well.
  15. Tough effort by Meade Co, but Scott Co had the horses to win 6A this year. Congratulations, Cardinals! I personally was at the 1975 game, as I was a junior at Bowling Green High, and I saw all three games that weekend. The Cardinals beat Middlesboro for the 2A title that year. I think I have enough gas left for one more twist tonight...!:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa
  16. Welcome to a very rare club, Collins! Henderson City, 1959 Caldwell County, 1963 Hopkinsville, 1966 Bowling Green High, 1995 Boyle County, 2004 Collins, 2013 Now, don't get your dander up, 'Bird fans...this is as much a tribute to your 22 championships as it is the only six times your great program was beaten in championship play! And, STILL no one has beaten you twice in championship play...unreal!
  17. The rule is....If you lose your headgear on a play you must sit out the next play.
  18. Sorry, Colts fans...my computer wouldn't let me twist for you earlier. Now, I CAN!!:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa
  19. A greater storybook ending could never be written. Congratulations to both teams for their contributions to this story. Bigger congratulations to Collins for their improbable, unbelievable win!:clap:Uh-oh...twistin' time again!!!:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa
  20. Nacarius Fant: Career Receptions (to date): 222 (sixth in KHSAA history) Career Receiving Yards (to date): 4373 (fourth in KHSAA history) Career Receiving TDs (to date): 51 (fifth in KHSAA history) Single Season Receiving TDs (to date): 23 (tied for ninth in KHSAA history) Four punt returns for scores last season. 99 yd kickoff return against McCallie this season. Numbers would be much higher, but kicking to him is suicide to the opposing team. Has a 56 yard TD pass this season. Takes role as team leader very seriously and is a great role model for the younger players. Verbal commitment to WKU (they got a steal!!!) Fant is my choice for Mr. Football/Player of the Year.
  21. When I heard early in the season that the Colts beat John Hardin, I knew that DeSales was a state champ caliber team. Great effort by the super folks at NCC, but the Colts just weren't going to be derailed. Congratulations for bringing a state championship back to Louisville!
