  1. Not a ton… a few years ago they would have had decent size but not anymore?. Walker is 6’6” maybe 6’7”, jace is 6’4” but has a big body and presents a huge mismatch for most guards. Colton Cash and Maddux Parsons are 6’3”ish. Goodin is 6’2” with a big wing span but not very thick. Everyone else is 6’1” or smaller.
  2. Rockcastle played Apollo last Saturday. Won 3/4 Qtrs. (Reset each qtr). Ended up winning by about 13 overall. Heard Apollo wasn’t full strength but they were big. Rock looked good. Played well. Walker Craig is looking good as well as Jace Rogers. Team plays solid defense, has the capability to light it up from outside if everyone is on. They beat Harrison today by 9. Did not play as well. 1-12 from 3 but they do get after it on defense. Play physical and pick up full court. 47th district is going to be tough again this year
  3. Pulaski for sure. Not positive before that… maybe Cumberland?
  4. Current AD and Former coach Brian Miller is the hire. Should announce soon
  5. Southwestern has really looked good lately. Very impressive last 2 games against West and Wayne. Coach Dunbar doing a phenomenal job this year. Could be a very tough out in the region tournament. I think SW and Somerset match up soon and that will be a great game. I really want to see how SW handles the size of Somerset.
  6. DCA is the best team in the region and pulling away at the moment. That could change as the year goes but they have the size, they have a great PG and the role players are stepping up and doing their jobs to perfection. Maintaining that throughout the whole season will be the hard part. Season gets long and the tournaments are grind. DCA region tournament experience from last year should help.
  7. These district matchups in the 12th can be super intense. Somerset had been playing well against similar competition and have a very physical team. Rock has been struggling a lot and desperately needed a win. This was a huge win for them. One thing I know for a fact is that coach young gets after it. He is a competitor.
  8. Boyle has a huge upside but careless turnovers, poor shooting, poor shot selection and lack of composure seems to be a running theme now. Offense struggles to get easy shots. Defense is physical and can create some havoc but good teams handle that. Boyle strength could be rebounding but when you miss a lot I guess that means you can rebound alot too?. Wayne had moments that they looked good and moments they looked bad. Wayne tried to give the game away twice. Kendall phillips is a great player. Would love to see him be more aggressive getting to the basket. I thought he got passive towards the end when he needed to attack. Good win for wayne though just to be in a close one and to come out on top. Confidence builder for a group of kids that needed it.
  9. Leaving the Bench during scuffle with Highlands. Khsaa reviewed film and determined he would be suspended for 2 games. He wasn’t involved in the scuffle but went to break it up and hold another boyle player back. Alot of players left the bench but I guess he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.?
  10. Driver will play tomorrow. Brown and Goodin will be sitting their second games tomorrow. They were allowed to split them up over the weekend. Everyone should be good after that.
  11. 12th Region on the boys side is wide open! May be 4-5 teams with a legit shot to win the region. Teams will have to bring their “A” game every single night. Going to be fun!!!
  12. Driver got a personal foul and a technical foul on same play. Was his 5th. Game changed after that. Southwestern had all the momentum and Boyle didn’t recover. Zach Hutchinson hit some big 3’s to spark the comeback as well. SW grinded out a tough physical win. I think both teams have a lot of room for improvement.
