Danville Christian Academy 52 West Jessamine 41

Featured Replies

DCA over West Jessamine 52-41.

Both teams played tough defense.  DCA was still without their point guard Titus Boyd.

26 FT’s for DCA

4 FT’s for West Jessamine

12th Region on the boys side is wide open!  May be 4-5 teams with a legit shot to win the region.  Teams will have to bring their “A” game every single night.  Going to be fun!!!

I watched it again this morning.  It was not a particularly well called game but it was not one sided.  They were missing calls both ways.  The 2nd and 3rd fouls that put Ateny on the bench were questionable.  In the 4th quarter West Jessamine started fouling on purpose to try to get back in the game.  They were fouling on every trip.  I'm not sure how the total would be much different.

Absolutely. Point is West did not attack the basket like they did the first 3 games. They where averaging about 18 FT’s in those games.

Early on they got some dribble penetration into the zone and made some nice passes for easy buckets. I think the guards for DCA started working harder to not let them get into those gaps but I'll have to watch it again to be sure.  As long as they are being active in that defense it's difficult to get going downhill because there are a lot of double teams.

DCA’s size will do that to teams!

Anyone have stats for this game?

Ateny with 21 and 6 with 2 blocks.  Ayiei with 15 and 5 with 3 blocks.  Cole Dadisman with 10 off the bench.  West Jessamine was led by Sawyer Thornton with 13.

I think Ateny has the ability to compete with Ellis for the best player in the region!

The big fella has had a couple games now with strong stats. And this one was against a big guy from West. Speaking of him, how’d he look?

He’s physically heavier than Ayiei or Ateny.  From my perspective he’s not quite as tall, he’s about 6-9” I’d guess.  Physical player on block outs and screens.  Nice spin move to the baseline but no threat from outside.  He made a couple of good skip passes that had velocity and got a good shot for his teammates.
