No matter if Johnson would've been with Trinity the whole season or not, Trinity is very young and didn't return much varsity experience to begin the season. Was always going to be a learning curve and things have been as expected for a team of that nature. The Rocks have some really solid games and then they have had a few head scratchers where things don't seem to click. North Oldham will be a major test for this group.

The Shamrocks invade Buckner for a 26-point victory over the Colonels. Trinity is in Oldham County tomorrow night with a meeting at North Oldham.

Great game between these two squads. PRP jumped out quickly and it was all Panthers early in this contest but once Beechwood got into the groove it was a track meet between these two. Beechwood stays unbeaten at 9-0. PRP moves to 5-3.

What a great game. Two of the best teams in the state indeed.

Had a packed house for this one. Great atmosphere. Was a very close game throughout but North Oldham just did not have the horses to keep the pace with the Tigers, especially when they started pressing hard.

What a great game this was. Multiple trips to the foul line late in the 3rd and early in the 4th looked to give Cov Cath the advantage they needed to take control but Male never backed down. Super impressed with the Bulldogs so far this season. Play fast and physical. Fun basketball to watch.

This one certainly lived up to the hype!! Suratt with a big game and came up clutch for the Broncos.

This should be the best first-round game of the King of The Bluegrass. Both the Broncos and Bears have been very impressive early on this year. Very excited to see how these two matchup.

X was the better team and won the game like most expected. But I have to say I was impressed with the way Warren Central started the game and continued to fight. Their defense gave the Tigers a good bit of trouble in this one. X, however, had more horses and better playmakers all-around.

Trinity shot the ball very poorly and got killed on the boards (31-21 advantage Madison County). Rocks played solid defense and that kept things close. Very impressed with Feldhaus. Per the post above, Valley has hired former Louisville and NFL offensive lineman Jamon Brown. Was a third-round pick by the Rams in 2015. From Louisville and played high school at Fern Creek.

Final, per scoreboard. This game intrigued me as one which pitted two of the better teams in the sixth and seventh regions against each other. DaShawn McGee led Manual with 32 points!

Was able to get to the Trinity at Male game Friday night. Very impressed with the speed and length of Male. Coach Haworth has a team this year that is young in many regards but has real potential to make a splash. Mitchell was the best player on the court with Hillerich a close second. Trinity still working out kinks with a lot of new faces and less experience at the varsity level. Gilvin and Horneck have looked good. Sophomore Jaiden Bartlett and junior Griffin Weis are two names many didn't probably know but need to concerning the Rocks.

The Rocks complete the mission, the three-peat, and capture state championship number 30! What a great game. Trinity didn't play their best but was able to stay ahead and take home the trophy. Hats off to South Warren. A great program Coach Brandon Smith has there in Bowling Green. I expect these two programs to meet in the playoffs in the future as well. I was really impressed with their play on both sides of the ball. Very well-coached and certainly the best in-state opponent the Rocks faced all year.

I have no doubt that Trinity will bring home state championship #30 on Saturday with a win over South Warren by at least two touchdowns. I'll say its a 42-21 win for the Rocks. After having some success in their years while moving up classes, South Warren has been very impressive during their first season in 6A. Brandon Smith's group, headlined by QB Camden Page, looks very good and I am sure will bring everything they have to Lexington. However, Coach Cobb's Shamrocks I feel have too much firepower for the Spartans to overcome. Trinity has been on a different level than the rest of the state at just about every position this season, and they have only gotten better with the progression of the season.

The sentiment around Trinity last was this: The system is flawed for having the Rocks travel there and especially so after winning the regular season meeting, but you can only control what you can control so let's head over there Friday night to support these boys and watch them beat the Tigers on their own field.

Trinity-Madison Central should and will tell us a bit about a young Shamrocks team. KOB meeting will be the first of two contests between the Shamrocks and Indians on the court during this upcoming season. Has been a pretty good series with the two playing all but one year (2021, COVID cancel) since 2012. I know there is a lot of respect between those two programs. Both always want to be highly-competitive.

Is X the better team? Yes. But I thought the same was true heading into Friday's Male-Manual game. I think X should win but could be closer than expected.
