No Max Johnson didn't get the Eagles in trouble (tough loss) against OC this year. JT Edge might be one of the best backup QB in the state, IMO. If Apollo has all of their weapons, which they should, then I suspect a much closer game than what everyone else may think. The state of KY may be shocked by the outcome of this game!

I think Greenwood can make things for OHS but I still have O pulling away in the 2nd half by 2-3 scores.

I heard that Badger will be ready to go. He spot played on Friday and made some clutch catches. He also came in on D for passing downs.

Badger played Friday. 50+ yards with limited reps and helping out on D when needed. He appears to healthy. Eli Williams has surprised me the most lately. He has made some spectacular explosive plays the past few weeks. The weapons are there. If Apollo plays like they know how, a lot of people are going to be shocked across the state.

John Edge is a one of a kind coach. I have been following him for many years. He took a 3-9(?) team in 2009 and turned around and went to the 2A State Championship in 2010. This Eagles team reminds me of the OC teams that he coached in the past. They had an OFF 4th quarter against DC. It happens. He knows how to rally teams together. Remember when everyone called for blowouts against OC and MNH this year? Max Johnson is the real deal. He is a competitor. The team is filled with athletes. Are their injuries going to hurt them? Absolutely. But they have DEPTH at the skill positions. Barron won't be able to match their speed. If AHS can force long down and distances against Barron, then they win this ball game. It shows that most of everyone in this thread only gets their info from 102.7 The "Lame". I believe in John Edge. I believe in the Eagles.

Apollo has a chance to make history for their program. No playoff win since 2005(?) I can't imagine Barren slowing down AHS passing attack. The Trojan offense, however, is designed to eat the clock and march down the field with different rushing attacks. Despite the 4th quarter of the DC game, Apollo's defense has made huge strides. I expect a big game from Hot Rod Dillard and Brody Griffith at LB, respectfully. Plus, Apollo O/Dline returns Big BG #50, who is a force to reckon with when healthy and in the ball game. Keep Barren held to long down and distances, then Apollo should have this game in the bag.

Both teams are 0-0, just like everyone else participating in the KHSAA playoffs. I believe that Apollo can bounce back, but you can't underestimate Barron. They are a big, physical team that can run the ball well! How do they match up against a spread team that is capable of putting up a lot of points? I got the Eagles in this one....

Yes sir! Owensboro will have their work cut out for them tonight, but I am a temporary Devils fan! The Apollo Eagles cannot lay an egg tonight, too!

RPI will determine seeding since it will be 3-way tie. Apollo would fall to #3 and would more than likely face Greenwood. What are the predictive rankings for District 2?

Apollo is starting to reach their full potential. Eagles by 3-4 TDs.

Owensboro's offense should be able to roll through this one. Two things that would strike me as areas of concerns: How does Madisonville respond to their upset loss to the Apollo Eagles? The Maroons turned the ball over quite a bit, but I imagine if they could sustain long drives on the ground and keep Owensboro's offense off the field, then Owensboro may struggle. Yes, they may be one dimensional offensively, but Hightower is a legit stud and easily one of the best RBs in the state, IMO. Madisonville's O/D-Line is solid and executes their jobs very well. They are big up-front, and do a great job at creating lanes for Hightower to run. Their O-Line gets to the second level well! Defensively, they are great at plugging up holes and force running backs to bounce the ball outside. Their linebackers also do a great job at providing run support and getting downhill. Despite these questions, Owensboro still has the opportunity to win by 2-3 TDs IMO. This is a huge district games for both teams. Do not downplay their loss to Apollo, the Eagles are starting to come together at the right time. Madisonville is a tough place to play at, too! Owensboro 48 Madisonville 35 (I am not an Owensboro guy, but I will be rooting for the devils this week so Apollo can earn a home playoff game)

Take away Apollo’s turnovers too….. Definitely a more lopsided victory. Good luck to the Eagles and Red Devils next week!

Those weren’t gifts — that’s just the eagles defense making plays. Forcing turnovers is part of the game. And let’s not forget the missed call on Landen Bratcher on 4th down on the goaline — both feet were clearly in the end zone. The score could’ve looked a lot different if that one went the right way. Great win for the Eagles.
