Solid schedule. Should be well prepared for playoffs with the returning roster.

A taste of things to come. couldn't believe the decision by Hazard to kick the FG to tie instead of keep offense on the field for the win. Someone, many who never get to play again, will question that call. Hazard had a better schedule and were ready to play. Hazard was a good team. No head hangs. Raceland is a great team. Not sure they will pose much of a challenge for Pikeville. Tonight was a good measuring stick and the results didn’t suggest they’ll do any better than any other 1A team. But that’s why they play the games.

Insight: Paris played their best game this year against Nicholas County winning 47-40. They played their worst against Brossart and lost soundly a week later. Paris plays hard but they are young. They have a good young coach who coaches them up. None of that matters this week. Raceland is playing on a different level. This game will not be close. And it should not be close if Raceland hopes to compete with Pikeville in the finals.

Brossart plays disciplined, sound football. If Paintsville plays with discipline and can travel, they will win with a better overall roster and schedule. If Paintsville plays undisciplined, commits turnovers, penalties, etc. Brossart will get the W. But on a night where both have the same pros/cons and calls, Paintsville wins.

Nicholas is 6-0, guess we’ll see if the district is wide open tomorrow night after NC/Brossart and Bracken/Paris square off.
