  1. Had to clean up some discussion points for the group.
  2. Football... sure. Let's also look at wrestling. PT became a really good wrestling school when the former McCracken coaches went to PT and took a lot of talent with them. Football gets a lot of the talk but a lot of those kids were/are wrestlers.
  3. Very true to a point. McCracken and LO before them usually had very good OL and DL size. That didnt come from the city. That was developed over years thanks to Haskins and his crew. McCracken has not had a lot of depth in those areas in several years.
  4. This is a fact and a huge problem for McCracken imo... The coach prior to Clark consolidated the middle school teams into one team. That automatically dropped numbers shortly after it happened. That along with the fact that little emphasis (in yesrs since) has been placed on getting numbers in feeder levels has resulted in the current state. One of the biggest schools in KY yet you have 15-20 seniors, that is crazy...
  5. Corey was a great player. He is a fun dude to be around. However he would not be a person I would consider. Plus where does he work? (For that reason alone) He ain't leaving PTHS until the QB graduates....
  6. I think Paducah Tilghman would be very supportive of a transition to the Wing T at Mayfield. 😆
  7. My guess is that smaller schools have more turnover, but that is just a guess... This is a great discussion topic.
  8. There are far more arrows pointing at this just being a formality rather than a actual opening. Who knows, I'm sure more info is coming. My guess is that if he was actually retiring there would be much more of a lead up/ appreciation. Something along the lines of what Coach K is getting at Duke this year 😆
  9. A program that good for that long has to have a couple assistants that are ready and have been waiting for their chance. I agree a change is coming be it will be a hire from within.
  10. I think you are spot on... I have been around high school athletics my entire life. You don't see career coaches anymore. Most come into the profession and transition into admin a few years later. Money, time, starting a family, whatever the case may be. The ones that do stay are looking to find the best opportunity which leads them to systems that have talent and resources.
  11. It would be interesting to know what percentage have hired multiple times in that period. Also interesting to see how many of the former HCs took admin jobs (more money, better hours) This will come as no shock but I suspect money, time commitment, etc plays a large role in these decisions.
  12. The following was created last summer for Paducah Tilghman fans last summer: https://youtube.com/channel/UCZaf7PLhiQMsdq1qbcr-gcw A variety of games from past 40 years. A lot of Mayfield with some other notable games included.
  13. All that sounds really good to win West KY games.. are they getting any better along the OL and DL to play with Beechwood and LCA?
  14. Agree... don't know much more than that. Played at Crittenden in early 00's and then at Campbellsville, i think.
