I agree with this take. Cooper has the running game to keep other offenses off the field and control the clock. This game may come down to time of possession and a lucky turnover with who gets the W.

For the purposes of this thread, all roads are going through the usual suspects in Louisville. After those three, its a roll of the dice really. Might be a couple teams that would make it interesting, but there isn't many.

Happy the Dawgs are doing well out of the gate. Should keep the momentum going in this game. I don't think it will be a blowout by any means but Holmes should get the win.

If Dixie is without Kel that is a HUGE loss for the red Colonels. A huge part of the defense and a great compliment to Holbert. Cooper handled GRC well last week by all accounts and they have a really good running back. Dixie may have their hands full this week. I think they win by the sheer amount of studs on that team. But Cooper will have a lot to say about that.

Ryle is just a bigger physical team in my opinion. In a game where both teams can grind it out on the ground, I give the edge to Ryle in a close one. I think Ryle has the better air attack also. No doubt some of the miscues from week one will get corrected.

I think it's fair to be skeptical of Dixie right now. Sure they won against a smaller Lloyd team. Sure their Defense looked good, but when you have that many flags thrown its safe to say they have a lot to clean up. Hearing one of their best players was ejected? If anyone can confirm that and add some insight. I'm not saying Dixie isn't deserving of a top ten spot, just saying it's fair to question a top 5 at this point in the schedule. I want to see how they handle Cooper this week on the road against a much better opponent.

I think most would agree Dixie will be a very good team this year. But they are not "running clock in the first quarter" good. Lloyd will struggle to keep sustained drives on offense, and they will struggle to contain Dixie's athletes when on defense. I like that Lloyd put Dixie on the schedule. This game is a good one out of the gate for Dixie, and a great barometer for Lloyd and what direction they go moving forward.

Holmes was doing well last year, and they have a solid crop of juniors on the roster. I tend to agree they will be at a minimum competitive.

It’s good to see Holmes back in the conversation. I hope they do well this season. Hearing they brought back the Calloway twins. That can’t be bad for them. Would love to see more kids involved in the program at Holmes. Coach Nevels has done a good job with what he has had there.

Beechwood has an embarrassment of riches at almost every level of their team. Check the box on Offense and Defense, Decent lines on both sides, and coaching. I agree with most of the sentiment on Beechwood this year they are going to be an uphill climb for most anyone they face. Fairdale will have its moments if their offense is anywhere near the level they played at last year. They will need that and a lot more to beat a beechwood team that is absolutely stacked. Highlands still has a lot to figure out. I think they are closer than some anticipate, but just not quite there yet. A long road trip, and a great Purple's Defense wins this for BG. This game will most likely say more about Highlands and their progression, than BG. Wouldn't surprise me if BG runs away with it, also would not be surprised if Highlands finds a way to keep it close. Bowling Green 28 Highlands 17

I tend to agree with this take. Ryle isn't far off, though at all. If these two teams stay healthy should be one of the better games of the season. We have to wait and see how the non-district schedule plays out. I think on October 15th, when these two teams meet, The entire population of Northern Kentucky will be packed in two different stadiums, Dixie for this game or in Fort Thomas for the CovCath Highlands tilt. Where I give the edge to Dixie is the coaching staff. Dixie had some rough years after their state runner-up season. Over the last couple of seasons, they have put together a solid coaching staff and got a decent number of players it looks like.
