  1. Totally agree. The Allen vs Gatewood competition will be interesting. I have no doubt the OL will develop; so much talent in that room for it not too. Do you know if Robinson will be eligible this coming season?
  2. What is a food that is stereotypically only for children that you still eat regularly? Mine are goldfish crackers and chicken nuggets.
  3. Nik Scalzo withdrew from the transfer portal.
  4. Growing up my family always used Sam's club. My wife and I now use Costco and love it. Their sections of "everyday groceries" are better than Sam's in my opinion. We buy all of our fruit and veggies, meat, breads, etc. at Costco which I don't think we ever did at Sam's. As @Sheldon said the Kirkland brand items are really solid too; both food and toiletries. I also highly recommend checking out the Costco liquor stores; I have found some absolute steals on great/rare bourbons there. Also, a slice of Costco pizza on the way out is the start to a nice little Sunday haha
  5. I believe the "transfer portal" culture is creating situations like this. At some point it might be time to look in the mirror. I know when he left HHS the football program got crushed by people saying they were running him off by not having him play varsity football. Now he transfers again because he isn't getting what he wants at CCH. At what point does it stop being someone else's fault?
  6. I 100% agree with you. He’s up there on the KY Mt. Rushmore with Dale Mueller and Beatty. I just don’t know if Trinity would want a short term hire.
  7. Purely because of age, I do not see Trinity going after Chuck Smith. Clearly a legend but I doubt Trinity wants to hire another coach in less than 5 years.
  8. Very interesting. Thank you CWB. I brought up the idea earlier about current Kentucky coaches and whether or not Trinity would be interested. Based on this list, I think it would benefit Trinity to at least consider Chris Wolfe.
  9. I tend to agree. I can't picture anyone in-state being on their radar.
  10. Are there any in-state candidates that would be high on Trinity's list? Eddie Eviston maybe?
  11. What do you think it was about Ponderosa that made you think it was fancy?
  12. Great day for BBN! Love getting bowl game wins as it helps with recruiting. It is also a huge positive for the development of the program as it allows for extra practices for the younger players on the roster. I think we will also get some seniors who decide to take advantage of the Covid year and come back; I saw that Josh Ali did this. In terms of the game, it made me frustrated the C-Rod was not the featured back all year. The dude is just above everyone else. As usual the defense was the highlight of the game; I was really impressed with our young CBs who stepped up when the older guys decided to opt out; good sign for the future. I thought it was hilarious to see Stoops yell at Morrow right before half saying "you can bleeping run that play with no timeouts". I doubt many people have ever talked that way to the big dog. For the future, we are still in dire need of a passing game. I hope that Beau Allen and Joey Gatewood can help there. IMO that is what is keeping us from taking the next step but I don't think that is any ground breaking news. I would also really look for some grad transfers at the OLB position. Injuries on injuries.
  13. I always use the new year to reset with workouts and diet but I do pretty well with that all year. One thing I am really focusing on is organizing my house and decluttering/purging things I have no use for anymore.
  14. I haven’t seen a Ponderosa in years; I honestly thought they were closed. I’m with you on buffets... everything always tasted the same whether I was eating chicken or steak.
  15. Growing up I always thought Olive Garden was “fancy” and now know it is not. Still love the place though. What about you?
  16. I believe the biggest reason for that drought is that the bulk of professional caliber players coming from the state of Kentucky are lineman and similar to the Heisman winner in college, Mr. Kentucky Football is very much a skill position award and almost exclusively and offensive award. I wonder when the last time an OL was seriously considered for the award.
  17. This sounds very similar to what I did when I played; only difference was that ours was Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have noticed on social media a good amount of schools who have started doing things in the morning and I am curious how the logistics of that work.
  18. I believe Thunderbirds (correct me if I am wrong) might be referencing a part of the book A Coach's Influence: Beyond the Game (great book!) where the idea that just because things were done one way during your time, and maybe, or maybe not, you were successful, it doesn't necessarily mean that same way of doing things will translate to your current group of athletes is described. Basically, the idea that what works for one, may not work for all or what worked at one time, may not work forever. Be adaptable!
  19. I am interested to hear the different ways programs around the state conduct their off season training programs. A few questions I have are below; anything you all can provide would be helpful! Thanks. 1. When do you traditionally start organized training? 2. Who runs your training program? Do you have a strength training coach? Do you hire it out to a third party? (If a 3rd party, what do you and your other staff members do during this time?) 3. Who is expected to be at your training sessions? Are athletes who participate in other sports still expected to be there at certain times? 4. What time of the day do you have your training? Are their options for players? 5. How do you try to address nutrition? We all know how important this is
  20. I believe it is essential that the next HC adapt to the clientele. If that means HHS has the players to best run the run a wing-t then they run a wing-t, if that means they have the players to best run 5 wide and sling it like Spurrier then they do that. One of the biggest frustrations I, and many others, had with the previous staff was not adapting to your players and not putting the players in the best possible situation to win. I am not saying the previous staff didn't want to win or want the players to be successful, but it was clear that there was a stubbornness to adapt to what was put in front of you and unfortunately it resulted in a lot of losses and a lot of players choosing to do other things or go other places.
  21. I am getting to this conversation late but I love that you brought up Bert Bathiany. Big leader on the '04 state team. Played at Ohio Northern and Dennison. Has coached at WKU, Lindsey Wilson, Dennison, and is now at Tiffin. What i find most interesting about Bert being a potential candidate is his background as a strength coach at WKU and his the fact that he is a 5th generation HHS guy...
