Should be a great game to watch. Two great programs with completely different offenses that execute at a high level.

Well I wasn’t at any Scott Co games but that Highlands Cooper game was never in any kind of doubt. To be honest I’m not sure if Cooper got more than 3 first downs in the game. Highlands defense is fast and flys to the ball. Hopefully they have the discipline to stay at home and do their job this week with all the mis direction.

Since the Cov Cath game Highlands defense has been a brutal bunch of bullies. I have no idea how physical SC is though.

For me the Cooper game final score is a little misleading. Cooper was actually up for a portion of the first half and Scott Co came back and then pulled away. When Highlands played Cooper there was basically a brick wall built on the goal line. I think that reads as more of a nod to Highlands. Scott Co and Lex Cath played a relatively close game. Cov Cath and Lex Cath seemed evenly matched and Lex Cath lost that one. Highlands beat Cov Cath by scoring over 30 points while handing Cov Cath 3 turnovers in Cov Cath's red zone AT COV CATH. I believe at this moment Highlands is about 14 points better than Cov Cath and Lex Cath minimum. Against "good" teams (even-ish matchups) Scott Co scores around 28-30 points. Scott county will score similarly against Highlands. If Highlands plays a clean game I think they score 35 to 40 points at home in this atmosphere. Obviously could be wrong and/or looking through blue tinted glasses. Can't wait to see what happens.

Looking at the scores of previous games and the trajectory of each team I've come to this prediction. I think Highlands can hold Scott Co to less than 30 points, and I think Highlands can score more than 30: Cardinals 28 Birds 34 Also I am hoping to watch the game while sitting between Karen and Fan of Karen if possible.

I am a Highlands fan, you are doing the right thing to do the Trinity at SK game. Highlands does a pretty good job with their students and it is a free service. Now we get the best of both worlds. Get all the talent out on the field baby!

I also heard there was an equipment mix up and Highlands is wearing scuba flippers instead of cleats. Birds can’t catch a break.

90 was my brothers senior year. I they somehow didn’t make the playoffs because they lost to Lloyd.

I actually heard Cov Cath is studying film of Highlands this week because they figured they can look past Frederick Douglass and get an easy running clock win.

I believe they have a couple Big Boy state titles. When they have the OLine, horses and the QB they can run that offense really really well. One thing that sticks out to me about Scott Co is that every skill position is a JR or younger. Highlands is young as well....But to ask a sophomore QB to run that offense and not make mistakes on the road in the playoffs is a big ask. It will be interesting to see how he does. I think this game will be a close Highlands win.

When I played in the 90s we would face some sort of “option” team 3 to 5 times a year. I am using the word option liberally. Where there were multiple fakes carried out and such is what I mean by option. Isn’t the answer just don’t blitz, contain the outside, stay at home, and do your job? As long as you’re not completely physically outmatched you should be in the game with that. Best thing about playing an offense that runs stuff like this is if you get up 2 scores in the second half the game is over.

I agree with you blitzing can hurt you against the Scott Co offense. Just contain the outside. You gotta have assignments and stick to your job. That helps against the carried out fakes.

Are any of Scott Co running backs power FB type dudes? To beat a typical speed centric highlands defense you have to have that guy. Also just looking at the stats, their pass game doesn’t scare me too bad. Should be a close game I think.

Yeah but you might as well try. Nothing to lose. Trinity isn’t your uncle’s Trinity. You only get a guy like Crone at QB senior year like every 20 years. Take a shot.
