Steve Barker is the new coach

Lee County head coaching position has been posted on their school website as vacant.

With Coach Coleman leaving for Manual, the Redhawks job is now open. Seneca will be a top 3-5 team pre season in the 7th entering the year with their top three scorers returning including Delshawn Simms who averaged over 16 a game.

After four seasons at Seneca, Coleman has accepted the open position a Manual.

Steve Barker most recently coached at Apollo High School taking the Eagles to the Sweet 16 during the 2017-2018 season. Barker is now the coach of the Musketeers according to the press release.

Great let me repeat GREAT hire by Betsy Layne. This is the press release that I came across. Betsy Layne Boys Basketball has a new head coach, Derrick Newsome. Newsome is leaving the Pike County Central Lady Hawks where he compiled a overall record of 104-81 (.562) in 6 seasons including 2 60th District titles (2017 & 2018).

On twitter this evening came across that the Green County boys position is now vacant.

Whitley County High School has named their new boys basketball coach. Mark White will replace Jerry Overbey who stepped down in early March after 9 years at the helm. White comes to Whitley with an impressive resume including a 5 year stop at Mississippi State University in the SEC under coach Rick Stansburry. He had stints as a head coach at both East Mississippi College and Tallahassee Community College where he compiled a combined 240-99 (71%) career mark. He was named his district and region coach of the year four different seasons. He does have high school head coaching experience as well, he spent 2 years as the head coach at Central Hardin High School in Western Kentucky in the early 2000's and last season at Grace Christian High School in Knoxville, his 3 year record as a high school head coach is 45-36. He inherits a Colonel team that returns 93% of last year’s scoring, 86% of last year’s rebounding which includes 4 starters and the entire bench from this past season. White is a Kentucky native and will relocate to Whitley County. A formal introduction of White will take place at a later date via the school districts social media outlets.

Julian Tackett has said on more than one occasion that the KHSAA could go bankrupt and fold from the pandemic, if it does who rules? I don’t think it will go under but the thought has been at least thrown out there and the possibility is there. Tackett has even said they may start charging membership fees from schools to help re coupe some of the money, this would be similar to the fees schools are charges to be in the 2A or a “conference” that you see running around or even region coaches associations. I hope they don’t go under but for some reason if they did, whoever is next please re align. I would like to see the three team districts fo away and even out districts with a minimum of four team’s in each as well as 16 teams at a minimum in each region.

I have heard a couple assistants name no head coaches names for this position.

Left for one of the schools in Pulaski County, believe it was PC but regardless it was kind of unwritten he would be the next coach when he went and it never materialized.

Holland has been a very successful coach the last decade on both boys and girls side just like his predecessor Blane Embry was.

Mark Starns is the new coach at Apollo high school, he replaces Steve Barker. One of the better jobs in the western part of the state, Starns is a proven winner having led Fleming County to the state tournament twice and Johnson Central once.

Former assistant at Paducah Tilghman under Brad Stieg is now the head coach at Hickman County.

per Coach Ryan Young twitter @Ryan_victor12 he has stepped down as head coach of the Golden Lions to pursue other opportunities.

Brent Jameson has been named the new coach is the Bears. Jameson comes to Butler from Scottsburgh High School in Indiana. Jameson was the subject of a recent rant that received national attention by media personality Dan Dakich where he attacked the Scottsburgh School system in defense of Jameson.

Maybe the crazy parents there will realize it is them and not the coach.

If he ever gets in great shape will be an all conference player. Very young for his graduating class, best days are ahead.

About as bad of an idea that can be. Why would you crown a champion from years past without their team, Warren Central had ten seniors on this team and they couldn’t play but could buy a ticket and watch? Awful

Forced out?

Jamie Madding has stepped down as the head coach of the Pilots basketball team as well as cross country team. Madding was head coach for five season, making the 1st region tournament each of the last four seasons.

Louisville Sports on twitter reports that CAL is now open, Bryce Hibbard resigns. Could Hibbard be going to Manual?

Jimmy Just has stepped down as head coach of the Crimson after 13 seasons as head coach. Manual went 14-14 this season losing to Ballard in the first round of the 7th region. They do return majority of their team.
