After 1 game Highlands is back?? I believe that this week will be another win for Highlands against Campbell Co. Campbell Co defense is much better than last year (35 ppg given up in 2016) but lacks speed and agility in the back end of the secondary. Highlands will exploit this and the passing attack for HHS will be successful. Highlands must penetrate and be disciplined on run D or Alex Dowds will have another big night and keep CCHS competitive. Highlands will not lose to CCHS two years in a row....Ft Thomas may burn if that happens!!! I look and see: Highland 35 Campbell Co 20

Dixie rebounds big time against Scott. Scott lost to a NCC team that should have been blown out. Unfortunately, Scott doesn't seem to have the team chemistry to over come mistakes or have the short memory. Having watched Dixie and Campbell Co, Dixie came out and played fundamental football in the first half. When Campbell made a mistake Dixie capitalized and put points on the board. Campbell Co has a stronger defense than Scott and running game between Scott and Campbell Co is not comparable. Hence and therefore...Dixie 26 Scott 12

This may be an emotional high for CCH with stadium, lights, fans and having played in The Pit, this definitely has a major effect. I see CCH winning over Ryle in a tight hard physical game. Final score CCH 23 Ryle 21

No one berated the players...period. The coaches have not produced results and that is not berating them rather facts. I stated that coaches put in hard work but not getting the pulse of the team and that is not a knock on their leadership but rather on their communication. Everyone needs to see how this team performs and talk at mid-season to see where the Camels stand.

I am not taking shots at the coaching staff...I have said nothing personal or offensive about anyone. I have said that there is a lack of winning attitude within the organization...heck everyone wants to win but can a coach be creative enough and mentor that team to win. All coaches are dedicated to their programs and players, and put in many hours of work, but I am asking do the coaches truly have the pulse of their teams. Defense should be improved over last year and that in itself wins quarters...quarters win games and games win championships. Good luck to CCHS as 2017 begins with walkthroughs today...a very daunting schedule ahead.

Coach 7 on 7 is a great way to work on plays and find guys who can play cover 1 and work with WR's on breaking down and coming out of cuts or route running techniques. An established QB can use the 7 on 7 drills to work on back shoulder throws, fades and posts and timing routes with his receivers. I believe that you should not replace a QB (or any skill player) if there is an equal or lesser option. I have not called for Austin Hoeh to be replaced but rather stated there is a better option in Andrew Helton. Helton is taller, faster (especially on the corners), has great deep ball touch and accuracy. Helton is not a D1 QB but rather one that is suited to a run and gun wide open offense which in turn forces the D to play nickel/dime packages and play outside in rather than inside out thus giving Mayer one on one opportunities and Dowds more counter options and draws. Campbell County is a run first offense and always has been. I am a proponent for change and this is why schools like Ryle, Highlands (years ago), Cooper, Conner, SK have made the change to an aerial attack to open the run game. Those schools have produced stellar QB's that can throw for points beside yards. Shift the paradigm coach...3 yards a cloud of rubber pellets just ain't working! Critical and constructive conversation is necessary in order to make people and organizations better...unfortunately there are some here who feel personally offended when you critique a system or staff or know more about the technical side than they do. I still stand with CCHS 20 Dixie 16 due to home field advantage and the CCHS junior class and the talent they possess.

Outside of Nick Mayer and Alex Dowds the rest of the stats (not sure how height and weight play a factor) are rather pedestrian.

After studying Dixie and knowing Campbell Co I will make this prediction: CCHS 20 Dixie 16 I will give CCHS the edge due to home field and Alex Dowds has a big night

1000 yards is only 100 yards per game...look I want Campbell Co to win and succeed but with the current staff that is not going to happen. These players are dedicated and want to win...lack winning attitude and leadership from coaches. Nic Mayer is a good WR but teams will slide protection his way and will be difficult to get him over the top.

Bubby how will the passing game be the strength of this team? You make posts with no factual basis. I know this team as well if not better than Steve Lickert and know the strengths and weaknesses...The passing game is not the strength. Defense will be improved and the run game will still be the bell cow. This junior class is the most talent Campbell Co has had in 10 years...unfortunately that is not enough to win. Peyton Anderson, the Jolly twins, Andrew Helton and Tanner Lawerance make this team competitive...just not able to win big games. I am a realist...not a homer. 3 wins for CCHS this year....Dixie might be 4.

Andrew Helton is a better QB with a better arm and touch. Austin Hoeh doesn't make good decisions under pressure. To say that a player looks good in 7's isn't the definition of someone who can make decisions down by 7 and drive a team 80 yards to tie the game. Campbell Co makes players fit their program rather than make a program or scheme to match the strength of their players....hence very limited success and only 2 playoff wins in the last 5 years.
