  1. Indeed it was and was packed house! Game was at St. X.
  2. St. X was down most of game by double-digits with Ballard hot shooting, but St. X came to life in the 4th quarter to get their first lead and close out the game.
  3. I think Trinity is best defensive team in the state so will be interesting matchup with Lexington Catholic strong offensive team.
  4. I think they are best defensive team in state which will win you a lot of games.
  5. I don't think any JCPS team has all freshman. Manual hasn't had all freshman for a while and even Male now fielding froshmore team last two years against St. X.
  6. He had a family member get coaching job at Jeffersonville (IN) so he transferred there to play for him.
  7. The Tigers will be looking to reload especially on defense and the offensive line which were senior heavy units. On offense the Tigers graduate Tommy Rosenbarger and Carter Guillaume who started on the O-Line the last 3 years. They also graduate QB Trevor Havill but the two backup QB's Mason Trimble and Thomas Andriole return and both had many reps on the JV team and Thomas Andriole played some varsity reps at end of season because of injuries to Trevor Havill and Mason Trimble. Having seen both QB's in many games I would think Mason Trimble will start at QB who is a mobile and accurate passer and will be a junior next year. Thomas Andriole is a mobile QB with good arm so wouldn't be a big surprise if he beat out Mason Trimble. The QB's will have two of the top three wr's returning with Marlon Harbin being the top one who had 706 yds receiving and 6 tds. Kyle Krupp also returns and had 312 yds and 4 tds. At running back Davis Yates graduates but 2nd leading rusher Manny Gray returns and he had 575 yds and 2 tds. Starting Kicker Logan Zoeller who is one of the top kickers in the state returns and he was 47 of 48 on PAT and hit 8 of 9 field goals. On defense they graduate 4 of the 5 top tacklers. The top returning tackler is LB/TE Karsten Busch who will be a junior and a D1 Prospect who is hearing from Louisville, Purdue, and many FCS schools. Look for Mason Mudd and Erik Ekens to play at defensive end and both are garnering college interest. Track Star James Burnett returns at defensive back. Miles Dobson who had 29 tackles will play an increased roll at safety. The St. X sophomore class is talented and should play bigger rolls as juniors next season. The St. X offense skill positions should be good and just need to rebuild the offensive line. The defense has some good players to build around. Like most years they should be a top 5 team but 6A is a tough road with some tough teams so will have to see what the ceiling of the team will be.
  8. Prayers to John Hardin and Coach Jones family! 🙏
  9. This past week Trinity made a statement that they are the best team in the 7th Region with an 81-59 win over Saint Xavier in front of a packed house at Bellarmine University. Jayden Johnson led the Shamrocks in scoring with 19 points and was 5-7 from the three-point line and Andrae Vasser had no problems getting into the lane scoring 13 points. The Shamrock defense frustrated St. X and they had their worst shooting game from three of the season going 3-25. St. X also got to the free throw line but shot 14-26. Jeremiah Jackson led the Tigers with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Manual beat Louisville Holy Cross 70-35 and beat Seneca 69-66. Male lost to Ballard 72-69 in OT and beat Seneca 69-66. Eastern beat Waggener 90-50 and beat Evansville North (IN) 57-47. Seneca is a team to watch who played Male and Manual close behind the play of QuelRon House who is possibly the best player in the region scoring 37 points against Male and 25 points against Manual. Ballard looked like the Bruins of old when they upset Male 72-69 in OT but followed that up with another loss to Christian Academy-Louisville 67-64. 1. Trinity (17-4) 2. Saint Xavier (17-3) 3. Manual (17-2) 4. Male (13-7) 5. Eastern (14-7) 6. Christian Academy-Louisville (12-8) 7. Ballard (7-11) 8. Seneca (8-10) 9. KY Country Day (10-6) 10. Central (3-9) 11. Highlands Latin (15-5) 12. Atherton (7-11) 13. Shawnee (11-7) 14. Waggener (5-10) 15. Collegiate (9-10) 16. Brown (4-14) 17. Portland Christian (3-14) 18. Francis Parker (4-10) 10.
  10. Trinity played defense and St. X didn't and that was main difference. Trinity also shot ball from 3 well plus got many drives to the basket. Drae Vasser and Jayden Johnson played really well tonight. Congrats to the Shamrocks!
  11. End of 3Q. T57-37. St. X has been cold from 3. Trinity has played well defensively as well and St. X has given up too many easy baskets.
  12. T 52-35. 3:04 3Q. Jayden Johnson playing well this quarter with two 3's. St. X also playing pourous defense. Need to at least foul when Trinity drives the lane.
