  1. I wasnt referring to the coaches or players. I was referring to some on here who like to use that excuse.
  2. On to the next one... Jv tourney starts Thursday for HC.all A starts Monday
  3. JV game was very competitive. #5 for HC is built like we all wish we would have been in high school. Steve Muck coaches them up. Ryan has a nice staff. Tough night for Jake Walter as he had 3 fouls early. Tough calls. Finished with 10 points. HC kid battled him hard. #24 on the jv team for hc is Joey Meinze. At almost 6'4'' and 175lbs he looked small compared to Walter. That is a big kid! Yes he battled hard, but he to was in foul trouble early then sat for a while. Thought they both were called for things at first that should have let slide. As for the varsity game, it was a great game and could have went either way. Yes hc was at home, but I bet they don't use that excuse if they lose to an opponent on the road. No need for reasons or excuses, it's a game, somebody gets to win, somebody had to lose. In basketball you don't have to be a dominant team all year, you only have to be the better team the day you play to beat that "great team". But hc had been good all year so far let's give them the credit they deserve. Cov Cath is good and could beat hc or anyone at anytime.
  4. Would agree one hundred percent. Truly believe that would be the way to go almost all the time with a guy that big and talented.
  5. I never said anything in this post negative about the camels. Even said at the end it was just my thought. The person who started the thread asked who you would pick to win and why. I answered....
  6. Highlands by 4. Get all over the big man play him physical deny him the ball. They can do it, just like holy Cross and others have. When Wilson doesn't get enough touches, camels don't score nearly as well. Just a thought
  7. All im gonna say is you must not have PLAYED for Gross.
  8. if your talking just 10th region playing each other I guess I can see it. But over all, I believe Brossart and mason should be ahead of them. But I wasn't arguing with you just asking for an explanation
  9. Who are you talking to? Sportsfan89 was the only person who said anything about Listerman and it was about his footstomping. I gave the man a compliment the first post I wrote
  10. Could you please explain how you can keep ranking Campbell at 3?
  11. I was just being sarcastic to him because of his comments... I would agree with you more often than not.
  12. I didn't see where anyone was making excuses, just stating facts or what they believe. And you talk about someone saying something about highlands coach then you turn around and mouth of about HC's coach. And the calls looked equally bad both ways to me. I mean a bluebird (bigman) sticks his arm straight out and knocks the ball handler down on his way to the basket and there is no call? Both ways I promise. Bluebirds played hard have a great coach and will get better no doubt. Old saying goes- jack of all trades, master of none....
  13. Another win for the Indians! I was thinking they would win by 10+ but highlands wouldn't quit.... Lots of credit to their coach. Have to give credit to all of HC's coaches, all three teams winning and look good tonight. Was way too hot in that place! How difficult is it too turn the heat down?
  14. The ncc game was right at capacity (750)maybe a few spots left. The Holmes game still had a lot of seating on visitor side. I would say Cov Cath will be full to capacity.
  15. Holmes played tough, but hc is very good in their house. Jv team picks up another win as well. Nice crowd, not full house like I thought it would be. Tomorrow @Highlands, Tuesday Cov Cath at home, Finn center will be packed for sure.
  16. I'll take Brossart by 5. But it's basketball, anything can happen.
  17. There was no" Wilson effect" at holy Cross either.
  18. This was not a good showing for hc. But neither was the last two of their games. They started gaining ground and had some momentum going when the 2 techs got called.
  19. So in other words just because there is contact doesn't mean there is a foul.
  20. I knew I would be called out on my post as I did not include or quote the entire rule book. You are correct in what you are saying, i was implying that if the defender is doing everything legally, contact initiated by the offense cannot be called as a foul on the defense. My bad for poor choice of words.
  21. I believe your right a lot of times. Especially at the tourny at lex cath. Looking at the rules, somewhere it states that a foul cannot be called on the defender if the ball handler on offense initiated the contact. Also stated, defender has a right to that position on the floor as long as he is there first. Those words are not exact by any means. But way too often you see a foul called when the defender is standing there arms straight up and the person driving jumps into him. Even if the defender is moving if the ball handler moves toward him and causes the contact, it should not be a foul on the defense. I mean what is the defender supposed to do, just get out of his way?
  22. Maybe it is maybe it isn't. I'm not the one to say or verify that. According to some it's down all over ky.
  23. Never said that what I'm saying is why holy Cross lost the game or is a better team than Henry Clay. Just stated facts about the way they played.
  24. 150 a seat 14 rows up half court line. 30 games if you see all. Can't beat it.
