I do also think that the fact that it is a scrimmage needs to be taken into account but you cannot turn on a switch and play well during a game. This Boyle team is very talented and even though most dont agree that can sometime be a bad thing. When you are talented sometimes that leads to showing up for a game or in this case a scrimmage and playing like you have a three score lead. They still have a week before their first game and if there was any man in the country that I would want leading my team after that performance it would be Chuck Smith. So even though I think that this is cause for concern I do also think the pieces are there but maybe just not in the right places just yet.

Jarius Brents of Waggner is the number one player in the state while WanDale Robinson is good he isnt even top ten according to rivals.

yeah 33 or 36 not much difference talking about 3 points and I never said it wasnt a close game at times but the final is all that matters and for reference I like GC and have lots of family there so wasnt meant in a bad way

3 of district 4 are in the top five and all in the top ten with only one district 3 three team cracking the top 10 so if were going by paper I think this speaks for its self however I dont like paper it melts in the rain and gets smudge I like live results and in a matter of a few hours we will have all the "paper" results we will need.

Spencer was also beat by franklin who was in turn beat by anderson county and western hill two teams BC ran the clock on e-town was beat by east jessamine who played a close game with lincoln and was beat by garrard also two running clocks by BC you cannot go by "rankings" or on paper because on paper I would have to agree with lambert and would consider that weak scheduling. You cannot just look at who that team beat but you have to look at who the losing team has also gotten beat by when you do that it doesnt look like as good of a win. With that said you cannot go by paper teams match up differently with each other so we will find all the answers to all the questions on whos side is stronger tonight.

Hopefully this will make sense For some players on the Boyle county football team football has become only something you do in the fall to pass the time. From the mid 80's to 2010 football was a way of life for anyone who was on the team and those following the program. On any given Friday this season you could watch players going through the motions expecting someone else to step up and make the play. That folks is not how championships are won they are won Monday-Thursday where the scout team guy is better than the guy you play on Friday not talent wise but dedication wise. It is won when things go bad but you fight through it to find a way to win. You dont have to be a hero but you have to do you job and unfortunately BC doesn't have enough players wanting to do just that instead they fill a space and wait on the next guy to do it. I say that to make this statement until that issue is fixed until 100% of the players from top to bottom buy into what the greatest Kentucky high school football coach is selling them every Friday from here on out will be a flip a coin kinda game.

I have not posted in a couple weeks but since I saw this post I couldn't help but try and answer your question. I think that given the catholic let down and disappointing first half against western hills and some things that I have discussed with friends about bad play we have seen you have to take this victory to set the tone for the playoffs. You have to looks past weather your opponent is strong or not and execute flawlessly in hopes of carrying over to make a playoff run. I can bet with out a doubt central bardstown belfry catholic all will be doing the same. Given the year BC has had it will probably be even more pressing for them to do so than the others mentioned.

I agree with you on the lex cath 100% however garrard is more likely a better team than lincoln and by game day that thread was 3 pages long. It may have been because of travis vs chuck but just feels like this week is down in comparison and I was trying to pinpoint why.

I have to say I am disappointed this is the shortest most inactive BC vs Anyone thread I have ever seen usually its four pages long and three or four from the top. As of this post this one hasn't even made it to two pages and was the third thread from the bottom. So I raise this question is this game not worth talking about, is everyone focused on fall break, has the week off dropped the interest level, just curious as to theories on why this game has been lacking in chatter?

I talked to a gentleman from GC last week and he said to me that they will run the ball and when you stop them they will line up and run it again. So I think they feel like they dont need to pass it because eventually they feel it will work. The current GC running back is built like the RB from lincoln and is currently the leading rusher in GC history. For those who know the history of GC football should note that is a pretty big deal for him given that they have had some pretty good runners in the past. I believe as you do in the fact that it will play right into BC wheelhouse and like lincoln a couple weeks back wont end well if they are one dimensional espically if that one dimension is the run.

I agree with you on the 3 good and I dont think the 3 wins were over competition near as good as the first 3 loses. However one of those three were state ranked in the class they play in and undefeated when they came to BC. Since I agree with you and they were ranked that leads me to my point in this thread. Until the west teams dust settles (BC GARRARD CATHOLIC PLAY) (CENTRAL AND BARDSTOWN PLAY) we can only go by paper and on paper Collins was ranked but I didn't really see much to show me why. So my prediction is we will see who the west contenders are when the "best" in each district finally play in the coming weeks.

I didnt go into this much detail but I said in the predictions thread he wouldnt stop playing this game for anything. Here is why this wasnt a typical BC team that would be 5-0 going into last night. They were sub 500 team will improvements to make including improvements for lower class-men in the hope that if you need them you have them. I think he was simply trying to see where this team is headed which I feel like any coach worth something would have done sitting at 2-3 before last night just my opinion.

I got ya the overall youth score as of today would be 97-51 they have played pville jv but no the varsity. Not sure about the Perryville varsity guess we will find out when they play. On another note BC rolls 45-0 I dont think Chuck Smith will let his feeling for Travis jeopardize the building blocks they are working by slowing them down. Expect the starters until the game is well in hand.

They scored 32 against the JC Jv team and they havnt played Perryville Varsity yet so the overall score could change depending on the results of them and Perryville and the hs varsity friday either way they have scored more than 19

while I agree with what you saying as far as the influence I truly feel like the KRS is worded incorrectly. • KRS 160.170, the oath of board members, states that the elected members take an oath that states “he will not, while serving as a member of such board … that he will not in any way influence the hiring or appointment of district employees, except the hiring of the superintendent of schools or school board attorney.” I think that this was intended to prevent board members from telling the hiring powers that they should hire someone for what ever reason and while the way it is worded he was in violation I dont think the law was intended to prevent a board member from helping the school to hire someone they intended to hire anyway. I think if he says hey guys you need to hire chuck smith its a violation but more than likely it was hey Steve we want chuck back can you help us. I dont see an issue with that given they were gonna go after him anyway.

No disrespect towards Anderson or any team Boyle county plays but as a long time rebel supporter it really sucks that there is such doubt left on there schedule. I looked at it last night and based on how they have played there is no gimme games anymore so each week we will be talking about what they have to do to pull out the victory. I dont really have a prediction but I will say this if the rebel team that has showed no fight in the first three games shows up tonight 0-4 will be all but certain. If they can find some way to realize that there brothers come first and stop with the look at me attitude this team can surprise a lot of people myself included.

I have to disagree just because I can really haha I feel that Boyle has done more in the past with less talent. I think bc is very talented this year but I also feel like some of the older talent doesn't respond well to adversity or to a challenge. I have seen the coaching staff challenge them personally to put the team on there shoulders(seniors) and they simply will not make the changes needed. I have seen juniors and sophomores with more will to win and more heart when that is the case its never good.

Not sure I favor them I think they are the best team bc has played but I would say Catholic has continued to get better since that game I stand by it will be an exciting game for sure

But I will say again talent doesn't always turn into to on field production of you read my second post on the subject maybe it will shed light on the first. Nothing against catholic any at all but central is the most well rounded team I have seen BC play all year and thats not a knock because catholic was a good team. I think the catholic central game should be an exciting game to watch going back to the male trinity brian brohm michael bush state final offensive shoot out kinda exciting. Not knocking there defense for either but both offense seem to operate on big plays should be a great game.

Well allow me to explain I said overall all talent at all positions sure each of those teams had players that could play and talent however were talking about talent or athletic ability not on field production two completely different things. Also the second round was prediction meaning it happened prior to as in preseason I have the paper article showing where we were to go 8-2 regular season losing to danville and highlands and would be luck to make it past 2nd round of the playoffs. The original post also said we had several d1 players and even though wku and eku are d1 I don't believe that was what the poster was saying. I had a coach for Boyle tell me last night that this team had more talent than a lot of those classes and he also played during those years so I am going to take his word and mine givin the fact we lived it. I am no way shape or form trying to argue I am stating what I believe and you took some of what I said out of context which I should have done better explaining the prediction was preseason and that I mean position to position not player to player on talent level. example would be Duggins vs Robbins no doubt one was a Mr football winner however the other has two of the biggest te ever at bc I was simply saying position to position sorry if I was confusing.

First off let me start with this I played on 4 of those five teams and never were those games won based on talent. This year the 2015 team was more talented overall at more positions than any of those teams. With the that said this team is a great team but all year the lack that edge that the 5 smith coached teams had before them. The 2003 team was so lacking in overall talent they weren't even picked to win but the first playoff game and even cross town Danville was suppose to beat them. I apologize but it's disrespectful to what we were able to accomplish to use the word talent as talent had nothing to with it. I won't say some of it didn't help but some of those teams had no college athletes and the 2003 class had only two one went to eku and the other wku hardly what I would consider major d1 schools. Again I am not knocking any team I had the privilege to play for they were all good teams but that's it in a nut shell we were and still are family that's what got us where we wanted to go.
