  1. Maybe this is just me but if I was Lafayette I would put both of my D-1 lineman on the same side and run the ball behind them.
  2. The Ivy League is FCS. I had heard that he would like to play Football at the next level and preferably play both football and baseball if possible. That would be a tremendous opportunity to go to an Ivy League school if it works out that way. That's an education that would be almost impossible to pass up.
  3. @theguru this Boyle team is really good but I wouldn't quite put them on the same pedestal as the Chuck Smith Boyle teams from 99-04. That could change come December but as of now they come up just short on the talent spectrum. All the teams during the 99-04 era had at least 2+ guys on the team that went to the FCS level or higher all the while playing at the intensity Chuck Smith demands from his players. So far this years team has shown the intensity and desire just not that talent level. Yes Josiah is a great QB but I think he is more of a D1 baseball guy but not so much in football. He could definitely be a great fit in a D2 or NAIA school. If they make it to the state championship game I think it will make that team even more impressive due to the fact it will be a well balanced total team effort.
  4. If Central Hardin's coaches enforced doing the little things correctly as Boyle's coaches do they would be a very dangerous team! It was a great game to watch and definitely got my monies worth. I wish CH the best of luck the rest of the season!
  5. In 08 the Liberty Bowl year we bought wins vs Norfolk State, MTSU (we only won by 7 btw) and WKU (the WKU that just entered the FBS). It's just a part of having a brutal SEC schedule. The rest of the SEC does the same thing.
  6. Chris Pardue offense combined with a Chuck Smith defense will help close the talent differential. With that said the defense can have its lapses early in the season as the players learn to trust their reads and follow their assignments. I'm going to take the homer pick and say Boyle 41-Central Hardin 30
  7. The best played with would have to be Jacob Tamme & Brodie Overstreet. Brandon Smith and Seth Tamme are up there as well. Jacob went on to play at UK and is now in his 8th year in the NFL. Brodie went to Wake Forest and had unfortunate eye injuries which cut his career short. I have no doubt if he stayed healthy a stint in the NFL was in the making for him as well. Smith and S. Tamme went to WKU and were there during the tough transition to D-1 FBS. The best I played against would have to be Curtis Pulley (Hopkinsville,UK), Corey Peters(Central, UK, Atlanta Falcons), Kelvin Turner(Danville,Marshall,EKU), Isaac Sherrer(Highlands, elected not to play after High School) and Mike Mitchell(Highlands, Ohio, NFL)
  8. I'm not sure if the stipend applies to FCS. It may only be a FBS perk. Couldn't Morehead do what EKU does and schedule a couple of FBS teams every year to help pay for the scholarships? I know EKU gets $500,000 from playing UK and then they usually ask for $800,000-1,000,000 (plus travel cost) for the other game depending on the quality of the opponent.
  9. I know Boyle lost their starting RB to graduation. Eric Brown the starter this year saw plenty of action last year though.
  10. Could someone please explain to someone like me as to why Morehead cannot afford to offer football scholarships? In-state FCS schools EKU and Murray State are able to offer them with very comparable tuition rates. I just don't see why Morehead State cannot do the same. I would love to see them on an even playing field with EKU for rivalry purposes.
  11. Yes they have a very nice new stadium and field! Major upgrade from their old field! I was in Cynthiana a few months ago visiting my wife's family and I just wanted to see the HC football facilities and I was impressed.
  12. 7-5. Losses against Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Pittsburgh and Kentucky. I say the Pitt and Kentucky losses happen due to being on the road and running out of gas after 6 & 7 weeks without a bye week and/or a "gimme" game.
  13. @JDEaston haha I'm sure they will! OSU is one of my top 2 most disliked teams but I do respect their program. Louisville is the other one of the top 2 and I will root for them if and only if it is to support the state of Kentucky.
  14. Wow phenomenal athlete! The only critique I have is that he only shoots with his left hand. Even his lay ups from the right side of the basket were shot left handed. He's only 15-16 years old though. Plenty of time to work on his off hand.
  15. I am going to do my best to justify a 9-3 season and by way of a miracle a 10-2 season.... Here goes 9/5 Louisiana -a solid Sun Belt team that will give us fits and that should definitely not be overlooked but I say we win by a couple TDs 1-0 9/12 @SOUTH Carolina- beating spurrier 2x in a row is going to be tough but he doesn't have an experienced QB and a relatively new O-Line and Mike Davis the RB who ran all over us is gone as well. I can see UK by 3-7 in a low scoring thriller 2-0 9/19 Florida- it's a night game, at home and against a Florida team with no offensive identity and a new coach. If we're going to beat them in my lifetime this is the year. Hey American Pharaoh won the triple crown which broke a longer drought than this one. UK by 7 3-0 9/26 Mizzou- They are the 2 time SEC east champion for a reason. Solid team all around and has an experienced QB. They don't have Shane ray on D to set up tent in our backfield this time around. This is one of the toss ups that could make this season a pleasant surprise. I say we win or lose by a FG 4-0/3-1 10/3 EKU- a chance to rest a few banged up starters and the healthy starters only play 3 quarters. UK wins by 4+ TDs 5-0/4-1 BYE WEEK time to get healthy! 10/15 (Thursday) Auburn- with 11 days to prepare and it being a Thursday night game this is a perfect opportunity for a huge upset. Stoops biggest win to date! UK by a FG or TD. 6-0/5-1 10/24 @ Miss St.- if all of the previous actually happens I think the confidence and swagger we will have at this point will have us wanting revenge to show heisman candidate Dak Prescott that he got away with a win last year and won't do it this year. They also don't have their bowling ball of a running back this year. Advantage UK. Win by 7-10 7-0/6-1 10/31 Tennessee- another one of the toss ups Dobbs and company are probably going to be too much to handle and at this point I think we just might be too cocky and get bit in the rear end. Lose by 10 7-1/6-2 11/7 @Georgia- the monster Running back duo uga has will more than likely overwhelm us by the 4th quarter and our health will be starting to dwindle. Lose by 2-3 TDs. Our ugliest game of the year so far. 7-2/6-3 11/14 @Vandy- losing back to back will leave a bad taste in our mouths and I don't think Vandy will be up speed just yet. Going to take a few years, if ever before they compete again. We win by 2 TDs 8-2/7-3 11/21 Charlotte- this is Charlottes first year playing in the FBS. I don't see this being very close. UK by 5-6 TDs and a chance to rest up and get healthy 9-2/8-3 11/28 Louisville- another toss up game that can go either way. IF the above happens we will be in the hunt for a shot at being in the SEC championship at this point and this will be a must win for us. Louisville lost a lot on defense to the NFL and this will be a shootout like last year. UK by 9 10-2/9-3 So that's my super duper very optimistic version of how the season will go. Obviously we will have to stay healthy for this to happen and we must get wins early to build confidence in order for this to work. I do think it's safe to say we are the dark horse to win the SEC east. Highly unlikely but possible!
