A lot of Football to be played before they would meet up again. JC would still be the favorite but Ashland gained a lot of confidence beating them last week. They now know they can play with and beat anyone in 4A. Ashland is good enough to beat them again but it won't be easy.

When Ashland had their bye week 0 I always would go check out another game around the area close just because it's the start of Football season. Ashland normally has their bye week 10 so usually hit a Haunted house and take the family out to eat.

Yes I believe so but think the kid would have to go through the mandatory practices without and with pads to play.

They were not mishandles both happened in front of me. One was a huge hit the other was Ashland gang tackling and holding up the ball carrier while others stripped it out.

Their field goal extra point kicker soccer player broke his leg in regional game so they went for 2 after every score. Also one of their starters on the DL was sick didn't play.

Doesn't bother me really if Ashland stayed at 4 but they did hang a L on #1 and are playing some pretty darn good football. So yea they probably should be #1.

Ashland D forced the turnovers and helped secure the W. That Ashland D was on the field a long time in the 2nd half too and was tired but made the plays when needed. Ashland Coaches and the players had a perfect game plan against Central, pin them deep and make them drive the length of the field. Ashland had 2 fourth and 1s in the second half both inside JC territory. They normally most games would go for it. This game they punted and pinned JC inside the 2 on one and around the 15 on the other. I also was shocked Matney started throwing after Ashland took the lead but he wins more then his share of games doing things you normally don't expect them to do. I do believe Love and his staff surprised JC with their offensive game plan. JC loaded the box and played man coverage but every time JC took their safety out of the middle of the field or Ashland dictated it, Ashland threw deep over the middle and hit most of them. Defensively Ashland's played their base D with a twist. Their 4 man DL would shift left or right just before Central snapped it. Also Ashland would sometimes walk a LB up and put him in a stance over the center to make a 5 man front. The biggest change though was Ashlands Middle Linebacker would line up behind another Middle Linebacker stacked about 2 yards or so and would shoot a gap as they snapped the ball. Was a great game plan and we avenged a lot of demons Friday night.

JC is the still the team to beat and I think is the better team but it's close. Ashland played hard and left it on the field Friday night. JC knows that have to bring their A game to win and Ashland has and can win so a rematch at Putnam would be an unbelievable atmosphere and a GREAT game.

Thoughts? Predictions?

Personal opinion just because their offense is very unusual to prepare for. Ashland plays them yearly and the coaching staff has shown they know how to slow them down. Your never going to shut them down. Ashland had 2- 4th and shorts last night around the JC 40 yard line. Any other team they go for it but Central they punted and both punts pinned JC deep, one inside the 2. Those are some of the little things they know other teams do not.

True but Ashland for whatever reason stinks the first week or 2 of the season. Has since Hart was their. They have a history of losing early to teams they have no business losing too. They play Harlan today the game obviously is a different story. Personally Ashland is the only team in 4A that has beat JC and probably the only one that can.

Might want to tell the Tomcats they're down!

At worst they move to 3 ahead of Central, they just beat them head to head. To be the man you have to beat the man. Wheewwwwww!!! I'd move them to 1.

Well they took #1 down tonight, do they deserve to jump to 1? I think they do but what do I know l, I am an Ashland homer.

Shock the State sorry had to say it again, was a great High School Football game and we finally won.

JC/ Ashland/ and GC should all win their first round playoff games Rowan probably not but that's why they play the games

Defense bend a lot but didn't break often and that D needs a week off because they will be sore. Made some huge 4th down stops and takeaways to seal the Win.

Ashland a lot better then people think.

Was crazy great atmosphere Ashland played hard both teams did. Still can't believe they won. Thought they would find a way to lose

Not a lot of hype for this one on here go to the other site for the hype. Ashland is due. Ashland to a player everyone I talked with and that's quit a few Tomcat's think they will win. Gotta stick with my pick and Ashland going to shock some people around the state tonight.
