  1. Congratulations to Nick, his family, and to Russell football. Best of luck to the Tigers next season.
  2. Final Ashland 52 Rowan 57 Good game.
  3. Ashland has won 8 of their last 10 games, and are coming around at the right time of the year. Rowan is 18-6 on the year and considered one of the best teams in the 16th region. Thoughts and predictions?
  4. Ashland Blazer's all-time leading receiver, Tate Dowdy, signed yesterday to play with the Georgetown Tigers. Congrats to him and his family. He's a good kid and a fierce competitor. If someone can copy the link from the Ashland Daily Independent, I'd appreciate it.
  5. Good game. I was surprised Ashland kept with them for so long. Elliot is just a really good team. Their ball movement is something to watch. The know where each of them are going to be. They caused numerous turnovers with their quick hands, and when they didn't get the turnover, they knocked the ball out of bounds. When Robinson fouled out, Ashland just couldn't pick up where he left off.
  6. Yeah, that's what I meant. I wouldn't want to be Ashland tonight.
  7. Wow!!! It ought to be interesting when the tomcats pay Elliot a visit tomorrow.
  8. End of 1st qtr Ashland 13 Fairview 10
  9. Congrats. Good luck and I hope he has a wonderful career.
  10. My drawers are not wadded over the transfer deal. I thought it an interesting talking point. I know the Rose Hill boys of whom you speak and still talk to them frequently. However, I also have a sour taste in my mouth about how some Ashland people treated Rose Hill during the "OJ years". Back to the topic; I think Ashland takes this one by 5
  11. Relax, it's just a thread. I don't care who starts and who transfers. I just think it's a good topic to be in this basketball forum. I thought that is why this website exist...
  12. Ashland with host the Eagles tonight at the James A. Anderson Gymnasium. Fairview took the first meeting by 2 pts. Thoughts and Predictions? On a side note, Fairview now has 3 former Tomcat players on the bench.
  13. No one said he needs to be their best friend. However, a coach can't belittle his players on a constant basis and expect that all of his players are going to give him their best. I understand that you play for your team, your school, your community, your family and yourself, but the coach is the one that is supposed to get the best out of his/her players, not put them down to where they are whipped puppies.
  14. Thinking that same thing...
  15. Correct, Preston is a great kid. I've known him and his family for a long, long time. I wish nothing but the best for him. His game is lacking, but I hope he can find a place on the Eagles team.
  16. There is a difference in a coach being tough and a coach telling a kid that he's a loser during practice.
  17. Not sure which one you're talking about. One of the kids that left had been a starter on and off this season.
  18. I had this conversation with someone the other day. Howell was an assistant under Biggs. Sometimes you mimic what you were taught. Just a thought...
  19. My apologizes for the title of the thread. That was totally not my intention. If a moderator can change it, that'd be great.
  20. I have heard from numerous parents that the coach is unbearable.
