BE v Merced County will be different without Williams. Such a shame. Will still be nice to watch Duvall and Robbins go at it!

It seems if Duvall could have stayed healthy last year and Williams this year they may have challenged Butler.

Just wondering where kids play, looks like the majority of kids play for Premier, didn't realize most recruiting is done on AAU circuit, when I was younger (many moons ago) AAU had a couple of tournaments after high school ball and that was it. Kids that played year round, played a Seneca or Wyandotte for. It's, don't remember much about girls basketball from. Ack then. I posted about girls from different regions and it looks like Premier is all over!

Ok, I don't have a dog in the fight at this time, have a younger girl, how do girls get picked up on these AAU teams? I have seen the listings for some tournaments and there are what seems like a hundred teams. Do they have tryouts? Do girls not play together in the summer from the same school?

But I have seen girls play better than the highly recruited ones and nothing happens.

Just wondering if anyone's has any idea how girls are getting seen? Some girls are obvious but how do most girls get noticed?

I would really like to know. I am going to start a new discussion so to keep this out of just the 10th region player rankings.

The whole process is a myth. Sure your Boley's and Robbins and Berger's are going to get D1 offers, they are no brainers, but I know several kids on teams that are almost as good that are flying so far under the radar it amazes me. I see kids tweeting and posting of visits to colleges and home visits and am just baffled how some get the recognition and some don't.

I still think it's silly, especially when all schools don't allow it, take Grace Berger from Sacred Heart for example, The couple of times I've seen her play she can score at Will yet she didn't start playing varsity til a freshman, Lindsay Duval from Bullitt East hit 1,000 points her freshman year. That doesn't make Duvall a better player.

Oh crap, love the way she battles inside, prayers for her! Is she a senior? Have seen her play since grade school, hate it for her!

You don't see it in 6th and 7th region often

I have seen many years of basketball, boys and girls, 8th graders may play on varsity but it is rare that a girl can physically handle the rigors of high school ball, sure there are exceptions but mainly in rural counties and it is tough for them to be competitive at that age game in and game out.

No way, all of those are good players, it's not season ending is it?
