  1. Was at game. Sk was losing after 1 qtr 14-11. They then went on a 30-7 run to lead by 20 at the break. Impressive. Sk probably could've won by 40. So in answer to your question, after seeing the game last night, you are correct. Sk wouldn't win all games by 30, two of those they win by 30+, the remainder by 15- 20. Clephane and Stapleton are very good, but they can't do it all, every game. Just telling it like I saw it.
  2. Dare I use the word "karma"? Why is it that a few years back when NCC , beat SK by 22 ....behind Nikki Kiernans 36, no one judged Stoll and the Breds? She did play most of the game when it was clear they had the win wrapped up! Wheres the difference? Don't think there is any bad blood, but coaches remember things like that! Just saying
  3. Very possible! And.....everyone who knows anything about the game knows it's hard to beat a team 3 times in a season. Hope the Sk team brings their A game. ....every game!
  4. Yes she was. And although she scored her average last night, she has grown leaps and bounds since that last meeting with walton. She is now more of a team player...her assist totals have risen and so has her court awareness. Don't get me wrong, she can and will continue to be Simons go -to scorer, but I do believe that she is feeling confidence in other players and realizing that SK's successes are from the team as a whole, and not just from 1. She is an amazing athlete. ....she makes the team better......and the team has made her better! Best of luck to them!
  5. Not in attendance but heard from parent that Sk played without Harmeyer....possible stress fracture. Also SK players watched the game instead of participating.
  6. Clyde, I think you misunderstood the question. I think what sentinal is saying is , and I also witnessed it, it was an offensive player "flopping " in an attempt to draw fouls on Sks bigs as they were crashing the boards on a wv shot. Dangerous situation as bodies were hitting the floor after tripping over "flopper".Good way to end someones season just to get sks bigger girls in foul trouble! Guess its hard to call if not directly seen by official.....
  7. After thinking about this more, there are a few things that bother me. First, there were many other bad decisions, bad calls, ill-advised shots and unforced turnovers that got this game to the point of arguing 2 calls. For you Triple sevens , it seems you have a need to "be right"? Maybe some relation to Ison? Your video showed a view from the" back" side and was blocked by the Sk player. What is not seen is the foul by the defender, with the body and arm, BEFORE the alleged attempt. So regardless if it was an attempt, as you want to believe, it was after the foul occured. Anyhow, right or wrong, call is history. One loss in Dec. doesn't destroy a season. I don't know if these two teams meet again in reg season play, but if they don't, I believe they can meet in district and region play?
  8. So what you are saying is, you have never seen an official wave off a made layup , and point to the floor? I always thought that meant the foul occured prior to the attempt? And as far as your comment that Haliey Ison shoots as many shots with her left as she does with her right......while that is true... in the paint, around the bucket... etc I think you are way out in left field if you want me or anyone else to believe she shoots 3's left handed! Seen her play a few times and dont ever recall thinking or commenting to anyone else about her ability to shoot from the perimeter left handed . Two players involved and I'm sure when both were asked, both players versions were different! I wouldn't expect anything different! Didn't add my 2 cents to argue ,as I don't normally argue with people who I'm sure played the game and know more about the rules than I do. Just wanted to point out my obversations.
  9. Ok.....I was in attendance at this game.I have no dog in this fight but would like to add my 2 cents. Triple7s is understandably upset ....Walton supporter..... I was seated on the Sk side of the gym close to the floor and i will tell you the intentional foul call was absolutely horrible. Although the walton player did foul with a "tomahawk chop", she was indeed, making a play on th ball. The only thing that could of swayed the official to call intentional, was the excessive force used. As for the "shot or on the floor foul", the call made was 100% percent correct. One thing you cannot see in the video is the Sk player, who was about a half a step behind, fouled not only with her body but with her arm in an attempt to knock the ball loose. The Sk players arm actually had the Walton players right arm restricted which resulted in the "left handed throw.. In my honest opinion it was the officials tardy whistle that allowed the play to continue leading some to believe she was "in the act". She shot a few 3's earlier in the game, none of which were 1 handed/ left handed. However it was a smart effort on the walton players part. With the below average officiating, there was a good chance this call could have went the other way. BTW..These are 2 very weak teams...I realize its early in the season but both of these need alottttt of work..... neither team played to win....both played to not lose!
  10. After all the above I FINALLY find it necessary to chime in. I find it strange that we are still talking about the Sk loss to Scott, but.....since we are, there are a few things that must be straightened out. It seems to me that Scott supporters want nothing more than to keep this thread going . I was at the game and saw what Scott supporters didn't want to. The foul count was , in fact lopsided. Anytime team A goes to the line 3 times as much as team B theres an issue and I dont care what level you're at.Scott supporters will naturally play that off as being a "non issue" because lets face it, the won. Anyone who KNOWS anything at all about basketball, will indeed tell you it's a major factor in the outcome of any game when that happens. What I witnessed from the announcements of the starting lineups til the final horn was nothing short of an attempt to "show Ally Neice" that she made the wrong decision to attend Sk. When she was announced and made her way to the refs and then to Coach Klette, It became very apparent by Coach Klette's action that there was hard feelings. I want to be clear on this.....Scott supporters claim that the team is better off without Neice. Is that parents trying to convince themselves, or does that come from the coach. If its from the coach, I personally have a problem with that. If coach Klette truly is ok with the transfer and she truly has these young ladys best interest at heart, the mature thing to do would have been to give her a hug and wish her the best. You think corny....maybe....but it would of spoke volumes about Coach Kleete . Instead, she sent a clear message to the fans and reinforced to her team the deep sededed grudge she holds on to. This was not a game against Sk, this was a game against Neice & Buckner. I include Buckner as she is also a transfer from Scott, that is progressing nicely and could have helped Scott. I saw a couple instances throughout the game when Sk had unforced turnovers and coach came out of her seat clapping and cheering. Really? I saw the drenching the coach after the game with the water cooler....Really? What championship did you just win?Why would the players deem it necessary to drench the coach after a regular season game if they hadn't been led to believe that this was more than just a game? Previous posts have stated that this is a heated county rival with only a few miles separating the two schools . My guess is that Scott supporters will indeed defend this "heated rival " theory as to the reason for the drenching. Ok, you have a right to think that. My question to you then is this. The night before Sk played Dixie and came away with a hard fought victory. They are a county rival yet there was no "drenching" of the coach! Why you ask? Because the fact of the matter is Sk was not playing Neice.....It was a regular season game.....and the win was just another win......nothing tied to it. Funny how in the days since the meeting between Sk and Scott Sk was fortunate enough to bounce back and beat a pretty good Cooper team. Scott, on the other hand, was defeated by a Conner team which I am sure they were picked to beat. Maybe the coach didn't personally scout Conner as hard as she did Sk. Saw her 2 times that I know of at recent Sk games. Isn't scouting a team more than once... rather odd...especially for a regular season game, and in the days Hudl? Anyway ....where are all the Scott supporter posts about the loss to conner. Kinda anti- climatic. My guess is that Klette had her team so hyped up with the Scott vs. Neice game she failed to have her and her team ready for a "not so important opponent. No transfer on the conner team! As you can tell I am not a Klette fan now , nor was i ever. Has nothing to do with this particular game.....has to do with previous encounters with her and coaching standards. Now I know I have ruffled some "Eagle" feathers but so be it. I have the right to state my opinions as do you. By all appearances, given the water cooler victory, Scotts season is now complete.
  11. nothing as of yet. I do know however that at the conclusion of every game a player of the game award is given out and the first game it was awarded to soph center Madi Meier with a double double 17 pts and 12 rebs and 4 blks. Second game was given to frosh guard Allie Neace 19 pts 6 rebs and 4 assists. Meier also had a double double in second game as well ,15 & 11. Bossee girl scored in double figures in both games too. She is fun to watch! Still waiting on this games results. Simon is playing steady, not great, but not horrible either! Looks as though the are improving a little more every game.
  12. Most points Simon Kenton has put up this year , but also the most they have given up! Details as they come in.
  13. From time to time, when I have nothing better to do and I need something funny to read I take a few minutes and log on to Bluegrass Preps.I have no ties to any teams as my granddaughter has been removed from high school for a couple years now,and the next one I hope to be alive to watch at the high school level is only a sixth grader. That being said, some, and I say some, of the posts I read quite simply amaze me! I have extensive knowledge of "OLD SCHOOL" basketball, both boys and girls, and I do realize that while certain aspects of the GAME are different now, other aspects that surround the game are not. As a vehicle to post scores and compliment exceptional performances, this site allows just that. I see no problem with a little playful bantering and rival trash talk but what I do have issues with is the fact that anyone who can come up with a user name and password, is allowed to "litter" these threads. Over my many years of watching and coaching basketball this is one part that I can honestly say has not changed and probably never will. It ceases to amaze me how many people know so much about the game. Not just on this site but in the stands too.I have set next to fans who are the worlds best officials.....the worlds best coaches.....trainers,announcers,etc...etc. most of which, and I would bet the bank here, have never set foot on a court other than for gym class and maybe graduation! I get so tired of seeing posts from those such people who want nothing more than to talk their favorite team into being a state champion 10 or so games into this season. If you read this post and you realize that you are who this post is about, and then want to say "Iam just kidding...gosh can't that old crusty guy take a joke", the answer to that is yes, I can take a joke. However, my ability to take a joke has nothing to do with how bad your lack of knowledge is embarrassing you! I read the post that said Simon Kenton has a good chance to win state. I took this as a joke,(See, I can take a joke). This is exactly what Im talking about. Obviously a Simon fan out honestly thinks that because they have an 8-0 record that they have a chance to win state? Not trying to single out the author of this particular post as I could go on and on and list other posts as well. My point is if Simon,in this example, was 0-8,would they have a good chance to win state? Well lets see.....if they had played the top 8 teams in the state lost all games by 1 pt, in double overtime on the other teams court, I would say maybe, if all the stars align etc,etc they might have a chance. Everyone who has any knowledge of the game at all knows its the last 10 or so games of the season not the 1st ten that give bragging rights! Just wish some would think about what they're about to say or write before they speak or push that enter button! Lets just post scores and give praise to these boys and girls.....Their performances are truly a gift!
  14. IMO officials called a consistent game, not a good one, but consistent. Many bad calls against both teams.
