  1. Well their first team proved they can beat Coopers JV..... on three series now
  2. That's kinda low.... up 23-0 in the first and onside kick. Cooper covered it up but seems kinda ..... well....
  3. Cov Cath would destroy SK. Cooper isn't a good measuring stick for anyone.
  4. Believe is CW - direct tv channel 25
  5. Cooper showcasing the freshman and he got burned bad. Playing young players and paying the price.
  6. I am dealing with this situation with my son right now. Borchers is testing a number of the junior/senior players right now and by the posts in this forum appears that some of the players are failing. Instead of stepping up and taking charge of their situation, it looks like some are just complaining and threatening to quit. Sounds so cliche for this millennial snowflake generation. Yes the team is 0-3. It very well could have been much different but giving up 10+ turnovers in the first two games will kill most teams. Plus they met a CC team that is probably one of the best in decades. At this point Cooper has 7 games left and has enough talent to be 7-0 but so much lack of confidence/conviction/leadership they could very well go 0-7. Like I said at the beginning, it appears to me that Borchers is testing the older players. So you got replaced by a backup (including freshmen) - go earn your starting position back. This means going out on the scout team and showing where you belong. He is looking for leaders to step up, not whiners who threaten to quit. These junior/senior "star" players have to step up now or this season is over and he might as well start playing the younger players and look to future years.
  7. How ironic. This week I learned a lot about the transfer process (started by this thread). I had a conversation with an administrator at Cooper and they clearly stated the school is not holding up any transfer paperwork. It is the policy of the school to get that processed efficiently and wish the best to any departing athlete. If any the no is being held up, it is with KHSAA not the school as was determined to be the case with Michael Spencer. Similarly it is the case with a transfer from Cooper to Ryle. No specifics were given but another source indicated that there may have been some bait and switch address wise which is complicating this transfer. Not sure what the Cooper staff did to spur your hate, but at least in this case your ill will appears to be unfounded.
  8. Yes, from what I understand he has been allowed to practice but not play in the game. Last Saturday was when the 10 days of limited practice was done.
  9. I can respect that. If it is the KHSAA that is holding it up it really is a shame. It always seems easy for a kid to go from public to private schools... should be equally easy for them to return to public as long as it is the correct one based on residence.
  10. Yes, Spencer would be the starting middle linebacker and would shore up the middle defense greatly for Jaguars. As for this game, likely no where near enough a difference to give Cooper a chance against CC. But it would be good to get the kid on the feild working with his team in preparation for District, etc.
  11. Take it how you want.... people on here asked when he was going to be able to play for the Jaguars and it was to be this week except for this unexpected delay.
  12. Sounds like Michael Spencer isn't going to be cleared to play his old team this week. "Paperwork" is being delayed by Covington Catholic.
  13. I probably should have saw this before now but learned something last night, Borchers has a method to his madness. The offense was 100% different this game than the first, which was different than the scrimmage. Different players in different positions, some playing and others not. What does that mean? Well, by week 6-7 the Jaguars will have so many different looks that they will be much harder to predict and prepare for. It also allows players different players to shine and find the diamonds in the rough. I heard last night that there were a lot of grumbling from some players about playing time. Several think they are stars on field before they have earned it. Borchers definitely is in control and has a plan, so they had better step back and accept the rolls they are given and earn more.
  14. Well said Hellbird. I saw a lot more positives last night than I saw a week ago. Unfortunately for my family, my son is a senior and won't get the chance to play the upcoming years as the rest of the team matures. But that is life and how the cards are laid for him so he has to play his best and continue to build up the team around him. Ironic the first person to reply to your post is who it is.... I really think Boone county schools took him to the woodshed too many times in his high school years and left such a bitter and spiteful mess in their wake.
  15. In the mix for winning district. Yes, both Conner and Ryle won, but barely against teams that were not expected to be very good this year. Yes, Cooper could just win 1-2 games, but based on the first two weeks they could also win a lot more. Boone, Dixie, Conner, Ryle, Henry Clay and even Campbell County are winnable. Each of those teams have shown as many faults as Cooper in these first two weekends of football.
  16. Tough one for Cooper but I think there will be a lot of games like that this year. Last week it was interceptions and this week were fumbles. NCC was outstanding at ripping at the ball and that payed off for them big time. NCC has a good senior heavy team and will do well this year I am sure. Having seen them and Highlands I think NCC was the better team by far. Cooper is going to have too keep growing this year and learn to eliminate the turnovers. From the scores I see tonight, their district has no clear powerhouses and by the end of the season they can be in the mix. Unfortunately for the Seniors, this is a rebuilding year - but you have to play the hand felt and make the most of what you have.
  17. For Cooper, the wb and rb are sophomores. Still a few people playing both ways but are paying the price. Perry is playing CB and WR and got burned on two deep throws including the TD. Armour is the other one going both ways.
  18. They have. Linder is the starting QB and Armour has been playing fullback and slot.
  19. Cooper has really shot themselves in the foot multiple times. Lucky to have the score 7-13. Two times giving NCC the ball inside the 15. Both on bad snaps. Fumble at the 10 after moving down the field with momentum and several completed passes. Things look better than last week though so hope the second half has more improvements.
  20. Did they ask for permission from the school district to wave the rule? Did they just complain and catch some people's ear? Did they blame the Cooper coach for the district management (which I know first hand strung out a number of kids this year) denying his request to wave the rule? You appear to claim to know a lot of something yet nothing is being said. Do share
  21. Hmmmm. You got my curiosity up so I pulled the Boone county athletic coaches handbook and it explicitly states that if a varsity player transfers to another district school (unless they move into the school boundary) they have to sit out a year. There is no out clause saying that the suspension can be waved so how is that related to Coopers coach coaching unethically? If the boy (and parents) wanted to play this year he could have gone to any number of other schools in NKY.
  22. No clue.... please share the story you appear to be circling without stepping into.
  23. I know of one that decided to transfer. What are you implying though?
  24. Ok, I didn't know of the game that was to happen 3 hours latter with the freshman. What I do know is that the Cooper coaches knew he was there and they told the boys such. They also changed their practice plans and it sounds like they didn't get to practice a number of things needed as to not give away changes. That is why I asked the question in the first place. Also, my son corrected me - the varsity was practicing on the practice field, not main. The NCC coach was parked towards the practice field. He also stayed in his car watching the whole practice, not head into the stadium with the freshman team when they went in. Again, he has the right to be there with the game to be played later, but it definately affected the Cooper practice and I was curious as to the thoughts of this group. Obviously there are a lot of bitter and unconstructive thoughts running around as well.
