  1. Next season's schedule is not as frontloaded with top tier teams as this and last years were. So there should be some games to take advantage of developement. Most of the freshman class played on a travel squad last fall that went undefeated in several state tourny's, then went to Dallas and won the FCS National Championship. Maroon's have 6 or 7 solid sophs and most in the freshman class have good skills, they have been together on this travel squad for about six years. So I am really looking forward to the next few years.
  2. Senior night for Madisonville....doesn't mean a thing. This team has no fire left after all the beat downs they have suffered this year. Biggest playmaker and heart of the team soph. Dan Fulton out rest of year with broken collarbone suffered against Tilghman. Hoptown should be able to name the score. I figure it boils down to Hoptown and Franklin Simpson in 4A.
  3. He was one of the 13 incoming freshmen who made up the 13U FCS national title team that played in Dallas between last Christmas and New Years.
  4. Madisonville went 4-6 last regular season and lost to Franklin-Simpson in the first round of the playoffs. I look for them to win 5 games this year with an outside shot at a sixth. Their offense will be somewhat improved this year with a more solid offensive line to work with and some speed in the backfield. The defense should be much improved with a solid looking secondary that added a few kids from the basketball team. District will probably come down to the Maroons and Calloway Co. battling for second place behind Hoptown. I think Coach Burgett and his staff will have a lot of ups and downs this season but, the future looks very bright. They have a ton of talent coming up in the Soph. and Fresh. classes. One of the Fresh. off/def linemen was just voted Defensive MVP of the KY/Tenn Future Stars game this past weekend at WKU.
  5. Madisonville North Hopkins High School QB T J Phaup Birmingham Southern College DB Bryce Tichenor Kentucky Wesleyan RB Jaron White Kentucky Wesleyan DT Jarron Thompson Kentucky Wesleyan K Will Summers Kentucky Wesleyan
  6. U of Cincinnati camp is a good one to attend. They have a lot of small schools in attendance with several asst. coaches per school. Right now the smaller schools are concentrating on this years recruiting. They are trying to pick up the kids the big schools missed, and secure the ones they have been hard after. Keep sending them the info (all of them) is what I recommend, it helped my son tremendously. Sometimes a small bite can turn into a frenzy.
  7. There is nothing wrong with the parents at MNHHS. Granted there are not enough that are involved with the booster program but, they don't have an out of the ordinary issue with problem parents. Everybody has 1 or 2 who think their kid is an all american. As far as talent goes, they will be down a little the next year or two but, when the incoming Freshman and eighth grade classes get their turn... I wouldn't want to be on the schedule.
  8. How does every thread posted on here get turned into something about Highlands or a NKY team????????????????????????
  9. I was really referring to Elam chiming in. After his stupid remarks last year, you think he would wise up and mind his own business. I'm sure his coaches will not appreciate them.
  10. Absolutely ridiculous responses!! 1st class sportsmanship there!
  11. Wondering why a few 1st team all state kids were not invited?
  12. Bryant Pirtle from De Sales? Another WKU commit.
  13. Warren Central put up 57 on the Tigers, Madisonville 60, Graves Co. 56, Franklin Simpson 40, and Greenwood even had 28. BG all day BIG!
  14. That also is Chauncy Gilmore, he goes both ways for most of the game.
  15. Great event @ this game. Both teams let a SPECIAL Senior score a touchdown and 2 point conversion to start the game. Then Madisonville exploded. Running clock with over 7 minutes left in the first half. Apollo left their starters in the rest of the game against Maroon's JV and Freshman.
  16. Maroon's looked very good last night. I know the opposing team wasn't as good as they usually are but... The maroons had 0 turnovers and only had 3 penalties, 2 of which were on the JV squad on the last drive. They played a very focused football game.
  17. It makes me feel better (not for the kids sake) that we over here in the western part of the state are not the only one's dealing with poor officiating this year.
  18. Wasn't near as close as score makes it look. Madisonville pretty much dominated this game.
  19. If Madisonville wins tonight, I see them running the table the rest of the way. If and WHEN they meet Owensboro again, I see a totally different out come. The Maroons came out tight against Owensboro, worried about all the accolades everyone was bestowing upon them. When they settled down and figured out they could play with them, they dominated the rest of the game but, it was a hole a tad to deep. It took a game winning drive and two ghost penalties for the Devils to win the game.
