Both of my boys played on our Frosh team as 7th graders and on JV as 8th graders. Unfortunately not all schools have enough players interested in playing to maintain three teams. In order to try and grow our JV and Varsity teams we welcome the younger players. When a younger player is able to prove himself talented enough and capable enough to play against older players why should they be held back? The best way to develop as a soccer player is to continue to play talent that is as good or better than you are. I do not believe in throwing a younger player on the field with the JV team just for the numbers but if they have proven their ability to play at that level then why should they be denied?

This information is not correct. Coach Anderson is now and will continue to be the head boy's soccer Coach for Scott High School. This information was obtained today and was told directly to me by Coach Anderson.

Wow groinpull, so let me get this straight. You are saying that no other team in NKY had a player as good as Treadway? Because if all a team needs is a Treadway to get to the state finals then that goes to say no one else at any other school in NKY is as good as him. That is quite a compliment for Luke I will be sure to pass it on to him. I however believe that there are several boys in the area that can play at his level. Soccer is a team sport. Whether you want to acknowledge anyone else on Scott's team or not, I can assure they acknowledge each other. Not only do we graduate Treadway and Schneider but also our entire back line. Next year will certainly be a re-building year no matter who the coach is.

Funny that when someone from Scott offers a rebuttal they get labeled as having a chip on their shoulder. "Nice try" as in your attempt to discredit anything positive someone has to say about Scott. I only posted two sentences from the full page email we received. Also kind of funny that those two sentences are indicative of the ones your "sons received several years ago". As for the rest of your comment, I am well aware that it is available to watch and I am extremely happy that it is. My son's have never played to game for the purpose of gaining an athletic based scholarship they play for the love of the game and I made no mention scholarships at all. In fact my oldest is in the process of completing his senior year playing for Thomas More, he actually turned down athletic money from a D2. Six time PAC champions and the NCAA first round game is set for this Saturday. Go Saints!

The coach did also talk about our strong attack style of play and my son's involvement in it, most of the letter was very personal and not something I would post, as it should be when a school is trying to recruit your kid for their program. My point is that it was nice to get some perspective from a qualified person outside of this state. I will take it for what I feel it is worth and everyone else can do the same.

No worries Oldtime....I was stating a fact then that was completely accurate at the time it was made just as I stated a fact going forward that is completely accurate. There is a difference between stating fact and posing an argument. Obviously no one can see the future as no one would have put Scott in the state final this past season. While you may not argue Scott's success this year there are many that have tried everything they can think of to discredit it. Check out post 30 of this thread. My son had a great season but no individual player has a great season without the help of their team mates.

I think someone else brought this up earlier but I do find it funny that the same people that continue to whine, complain, and argue about Scott are the ones that say Scott whines, complains, and argues too much. Congrats on the win BG. Congrats to Scott on a record breaking season.

You aren't offending me. This isn't my first go around with college coaches and I can assure you nothing about this email was "standard". Nice try though.

Just like with anything else when rules change adjustments are made. Won't change who our coach is. By the way, only one returning player for next year received a red card this season. You all may not have much to complain about next year. Oh wait, I'm sure the color of our cleats or the way we walk will tick someone off.

My son received an email today from a Division 2 Coach. I found the following rather interesting given the "blog" perspective, " I enjoyed watching your game. Your team moves the ball very well and plays an organized system, I can see why you went so far this season. I could also see that your technical skills and understanding of the game are at a very high level". The Coach made no negative comments about the game or Scott's style of play. I think I will take his opinion over most of yours.

Scott’s coach will return, no amount of Scott bashing out here in blog land can change the fact that Scott brought home the district title, regional title, and for the first time in Scott history became state finalists. Scott’s record ended 20 -3 - 1. We have an outstanding group of coaches and they have the parent’s full support.

First off your facts are wrong which doesn't surprise me based on your statement. Josh Coldiron was an excellent player but he went to Eckerd College and Eckerd is a D2 school. I spent a lot of games cheering beside his dad and I can tell you he would have appreciated Treadway's ability and would have never bashed Scott High School for the way they've played to game. Go Eagles!

to answer that question....."Me and Devin looked at the wall, and looked at the goalie, and he told me to take the shot," Treadway said. "He believed in me. I took it, it found the net and it was amazing for us. (The wall) was set a little bit to the right and I normally shoot to the left on free kicks. It was kind of my spot and I was able to finish it."

I think the bigger picture is that when you put the three together, Schneider with 28 goals, Treadway with 28 goals, and Morgan with 14 goals you can see how strong they are as a unit!

Just FYI at the game Saturday at Henry Clay they did advertise that credit cards are accepted. They also took your whole ticket at the gate so if you walk out you have to pay again to get back in. For anyone planning to stay and watch both games this Thursday don't plan to leave the stadium unless you want to pay another $10 to get back in.

Yes they did. Gaunce was in goal the first time GRC played Montgomery but not for the district final.

No he would rather be in the goal but this is the coach's choice to put him on the field.

The goalie you saw last night is a freshman. Chandler Gaunce is the KHA U17 goal keeper and he has been playing field for GRC.
