  3. That seemed a little too "Rosa Parksy" to me. I guess there is a reason but I sure would like to know what it is.
  4. Kudos on the write-up. Love that you dug up Coach Smith's comments from 1992. I played at Corbin for the Regional Championship in 1982. Boyle was absolutely undersized in a 28-14 loss. Corbin went on to win the championship.
  5. Ejections can be appealed but I do not know if one has ever been overturned. Bottom line is this, don't get thrown out. Players must be aware of the moment and understand the consequences. Especially in the playoffs, when a team knows they are beat, become more eager to initiate altercations. You must be able to handle this high level of emotion and understand the consequences. I heard an ejected player once say "I am not gonna let him do that to my brother (team mate)" That's fine and admirable, but understand you will sit out the next game no matter what stage of the playoffs you are in. It comes down to what you value most.
  6. After looking at the KHSAA website, there are several discrepancies as to who is who. At this point I revise my earlier statement to a BIG I HAVE NO IDEA!:idunno:
  7. I have been told unofficially the upper team in the KHSAA bracket is the home team. If true Boyle will be the home team, Corbin the visitors. As soon as I have this verified I will update this post.
  8. This matchup is about as blueblooded as can be. 2 great traditions going head to head on the grandest stage in Kentucky!
  9. This was a flat out back yard brawl. Both teams have great defenses that controlled the game. Nothing was given, everything was earned. Great win for the Boyle County program. I am happy for Coach Smith getting back to the promised land in his 4th year back at Boyle. Congrats to Etown for a great season. It has to suck for them to make it to the Semis 3 years straight and not get a W. Next up for the 3A crown is Boyle v Corbin, just a couple of Bluebloods. Should be a dandy.
  10. Per the Etown AD additional vistor seating is being brought in to accomodate Boyle Fans
  11. This is a great test for Boyle County, by far the best team Boyle has faced all year. I do feel Boyle is the better team and matches up well with this veteran Etown team. I also think the team that makes the fewest mistakes wins the game. Boyle County 31 Elizabethtown 24
  12. Boyle County Alums came out in full force today. 5 decades of former players from the 60's, 70's, 80,s, 90's, 2000's, and 2010's showed up to Rebel Field and it was absolutely awesome. Coach Smith allowed one alum to speak on behalf of us all and Jacob Tamme was our voice. Jacob's words were truly inspirational and it was probably my single best moment ever as a Boyle County supporter. It was my first opportunity to be a part of a Thanksgiving practice and I hope to participate in many more in the years to come. Happy Thanksgiving!
  13. I see where #18 for Etown, Kendrick Williams, has a couple of college offers. (SE Missouri and Kentucky State) Are there any other players on Etown's roster getting college looks?
  14. For Boyle, Coach Smith has extended an invitation to all former players to come and watch the Thanksgiving morning practice. Should be a memorable occasion.

  16. Pretty solid recap. Clearly the top 4 teams are gonna slug it out for the 3A title. I will take Boyle v Central in the finals.
  17. At least in my mind, Belfry beats Corbin, so Central beating Belfry means Central beats Corbin.....especially at Central. Clear as mud.
  18. Big Boy Football is about to get underway in Class 3A. Should be a dandy.
  19. It was hilarious. It wasn't anything like the big Class C's Boyle uses. It was one of the $2 bottle rocket with a little flare at the end. The only thing funnier would have been Lex Cath fans using sparklers!!
  20. Welcome to the Boyle County Buzzsaw! Congrats on the regional championship! I hear there's a good game in Etown next week! Who ya With! :dancingpa
  21. Rebels bend but do not break. Boyle 42 Lex Cath 24 #throughthewall
