TN numbers baffle me. There is no way they have that many positives and that few deaths. If accurate, every state needs to be in their hospitals training. This will come back in the Fall.

I have read and watched so much and I can’t even corroborate the source, but it is in my brain: with the flu you may infect 14 people, with CV you can infect 59,000.

Within the next few months you will find out if you have been exposed, but I have to agree with VOR, I don’t think this has been rampant. The mortality rate in KY would be extreme.

16 I got the same issue. Two college kids and got not one dime for them. They both have part time jobs. Frustrating.

How many see what’s happening in the medical field and run the other direction?

Just a question. How successful will a reopening be if 1/2 of the population doesn’t want to participate because they feel unsafe?

Stanford’s new study is saying less than 5% of the people in California have been infected and not even close to herd immunity.

I hope no one is still on the "Flu is just as bad" train, but if you are here is a stat. New York State averages 4500 deaths from the Flu each year. New York City has had 7905 deaths from COVID-19 since March 14th.

Yesterday I read a story where people in South Korea recovered and now have a reactivated form of the CV. How will that work in the herd immunity plan?

We are kidding ourselves if we aren't thinking that those in the hot spots up North won't head South as soon as the switch is flipped.

One or two weeks in high/middle school with no purpose... all you will have is murder, mayhem, and madness!!

Can we really open back up without knowing how many people have actually contracted the disease? We have roughly tested 3 million people with roughly 600k positives. That's a lot of people left for on the roulette wheel. What happens if this starts back up and the Rona explodes?

What about the teachers, janitors, cooks, bus drivers, etc.? ! Nobody wants the kids to be harmed, but you could easily knock off a chunk of a school's staff with CV. Also what is the point? You can't have graduation, prom, Spring sports, etc. You can't make up two months of education. Testing has already been cancelled.

I agree and would be a waste of the past month. If we want to go ahead and get the second wave over with, sure, let's send kids back to school.

How many states have to peak before we restart? Considering I’ve seen tons of New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, etc. license plates in my hometown over the past few weeks, I’m a bit concerned.

It was mentioned early today in New York’s daily press conference. Very little information was presented. Actually it could mean 1 month to 18 months. I question the purpose of some of the information being thrown out during this time.

All I know of herd immunity of what has been mentioned on TV, but doesn't it require 70-80% of the population to be infected by the disease? Shoddy math---250 million Americans get the disease 7-10 million American deaths at the current mortality rate. My figures may be way off, but I don't think America will trade 1 million lives for herd immunity much less 10 million. The last time we thought we may lose 1 million American lives we dropped two Atomic bombs, and forever changed the world. With Mumps, Measles, etc. we establish herd immunity with vaccines not get it and recover.

High blood pressure runs in both sides of my family, but I don’t have it yet. Heaven forbid I get the CV and die, but I now wonder if I would count.

By some of the thinking being displayed, we should go back and adjust the death toll of 9/11 and other tragedies . Tick off those deaths of people who had preexisting conditions. They were going to die in a decade or two if the plane wouldn’t crashed into the WTC.

So why are we talking about it? Suicides happen constantly. Our veterans are plagued with this. It’s crazy that people may kill themselves over money it’s a big deal now.

I enjoy the ESPNU high school games of some of the best programs. I am really worried about about the Hs season this year.
