Ok thanks for the info on the rule. I wasn't trying to disrespect you but as you can clearly see there are numerous ways the play could be seen as you and everybody you were sitting with saw a block and myself and everyone I was sitting with saw a charge. Apparently the referees couldn't convince the other their call was the right call either. Great debate on a tough call either way it was a great game.

The outside official called the charge at contact not later as stated. We have all heard your side of the story over and over again. Sorry but you are mistaken on him huddling with the other refs before making the call. Would someone please post a link to what should happen in the event of a block/charge call because I can't find it anywhere in the ky high school rulebook.

as a high school coach in a different sport this statement isn't correct we have mandatory rules clinics we must do on a yearly basis. If we shouldn't have to know the rules then why does the KHSAA make us do the rules clinics. Yes the blarge call was missed but as numerous people have pointed out the fact remains UHA has a 4 point lead with under 2 minutes to play and cant find a way to stop Henderson from scoring or get to the free throw line. As a coach it is my job to know the rules as well as a referee so in a situation such as this I can fight for my kids.

Yes I do agree they blew the application of the rule. I also agree that the refs were horrible. The main thing I don't agree with is the use of the word robbed. I think that as adults we should refrain from harsh criticism and take away from such a classic game. There were a number of kids on both sides that laid it all on the line and left it all on the floor to say a blown call decided this game is bad judgement and I would feel the same way if it went the other way. I just love high school basketball. I hope I didn't offend you and want to say I appreciate the efforts of all the players on that court tonight.

So I guess you saw both these plays from one seat they happened on totally different ends of the court. By the way everyone didn't think it was a block myself and at least one referee thought it was a charge. The out of bounds call was changed to the right call. Sorry you and I just agree on one thing here and that is that the referees were horrible both ways.

The tall ref called the block the short bald ref called the charge. So apparently you were not paying as much attention as you thought. The point is UHA had a 4 point lead after the call and didn't finish. The tall ref made as many bad calls in favor of UHA as he did against them. The kids left it all on the floor and adults want to whine about officiating. I'm sorry but bad calls are part of the game.

#14 playing tough d at the end to earn a 5 second call was a reality too. Great played game by both sides I agree horrible officiating but it went both ways. The blarge may have been missed but one call doesn't make or break a game. The Henderson kids left it all on the floor too and I think its unfair to say anything about this being a gift.

I was at the game and the official under the basket called a block but the other official called a charge too. He called the charge and they huddled. There were just as many bad calls on the otherside of this game too. 2 referees made calls all night while the one guy could have left his whistle at home. He didn't make a call all night.

6th and 7th Districts have an all district team voted on by the coaches before the tourney. No all tourney team or mvp

Duckworth hasn't played since the Hopkinsville game January 14 so they have played a lot of games without him. Yes they lost a lot of post presence but havn't really missed a beat. The Caldwell County team has really been a Jeckyl-hyde team, they have a lot of talent and Uha is really improving. The Madisonville team has shown flashes of brilliance all year only to turn in a very sub par performance a few nights later. All in all its Hopkinsville's tourney to win but in march on any given night you never know.

Very suprised at how close this game was. I still think Hopkinsville is the team to beat in the 2nd region, but they gave a lot of teams hope with this outcome.

Webster County had a great season, Probably were the third best team in the second region. They had beat Caldwell and Madisonville both in the last week. Webster has a great young coach in Coach Newton and will return a nice nucleus next season. Upsets happen its that time of year.

Big win after a tough night last night for the colonels. Good way to finish the season.

When they played the first time it was close until about 3 minutes to go. Simmons fouled out at that point. I think it would take a great shooting night from Henderson and an off night by Hopkinsville but in March anything can happen.

This game was a Henderson dunk fest. Simmons had numerous dunks and Norman had one too. This game was over early.

This was a really ugly game. Poor field goal shooting on both sides as well as lots of turnovers. Could have went either way had Pepper not got in foul trouble.

I have seen a lot of second region basketball this year and haven't figured out this Caldwell County team. They are hit and miss on any given night. With Sindelar playing as well as he is, if they could ever get Pepper back to playing like he was last season this team could do some damage in the region. I just don't think they get the ball inside to Pepper enough with his size there shouldn't be anyone in the region that can guard him. I was really impressed with his play in regionals last year but haven't seen that play this season. I know with a different supporting cast things are different but this kid should be posting D1 prospect stats on a nightly basis.
