I will have to say in watching Lex Cath play Boyle all these past years this is by far the best offense I've seen from LC , I've never seen a team run the ball over 40 times out of a 4 or 5 wide receiver set with no huddle, and with Boyle only rushing 3 it made running the ball easy for LC. I hope Boyle learns from this game so adjustments can be made in case they meet again. As for the officiating it was terrible.

2009 was a special season for Reese one that I'll not soon forget. I'll wait till after Harris plays Against Boyle at seasons end before I change my opinion about his stats or Alexander.

I would think a lot of Harris's yards came against weak teams, I would have to go with Alexander for a career, and Reese Macshara for a single season.

Yes the old Danville backs before Britt, Guys like Ben Kinley,Kente Bess, Donnie Redd,Chris Jones,and Kelvin Kinley the list goes on and on I'm sure Hatz could remember a few more of them the guys I'm talking about are from Danville's glory years.believe me being a Boyle co fan I saw more than I wanted to of them it seemed like every year they would have 5 or 6 backs that would have world class speed and could take it to the house every time they touched the ball and could do it against any defense thay played but it seemed like none of them would get over 8 or 10 carries a game because they ran by committee. Danville had a time span of these backs that probably lasted for 25 or 30 years. In thier glory years I would have matched Danville talent and speed against any team in the state, believe me I had tons of respect for those teams.

Danville has had a stable of backs over the years That had they had the carries that Harris has their stats would have been unbelievable, they didn't get the number of attempts because Duffy and Harp always ran by committee.

I'm looking forward to a hard fought game between two of 4A'S finest Friday night. On a side note I hope the rain ends before the game starts or comes in after the game is over.

Go to KHSAA LC'S team page and look at season to date stats, and you will find exactly what I did.

IMO LexCath's running game is helped by the passing game, teams respect Ryan's ability and so the Knights get a lot of 6 in the box looks which are easier to run against. Madison Central tried to put 7 or 8 to stop the run and Ryan went off for 500 yards and 5 TDs. In the past, both this season in other games and against LexCath, Boyle has been doing this (putting only 6 in the box). This season I think LexCath has the O-line and RB to take advantage of it. Jones might not get to his average but I suspect it will be a lot closer to it than you think. The stats I gave are for 6 games not 5, and Jones has 8 more attempts, and 113 more yds than Hoskins. I'm talking about rushing yds only. Jones averages 160 per game, and Hoskins 141 per game. My stats are from KHSAA and for 6 games not 5, I triple checked they are for 6 games. I might add Hoskins has 16 rushing TD'S Jones has 8 rushing TD'S.

According to KHSAA LC has allowed more rushing yds than passing, but the numbers are close. Jones is averaging 161 yds a game while Hoskins is averaging 141 yds a game for Boyle Jones has about a 100 yds more yds than Hoskins, but Jones has around 20 or so more attempts than Hoskins. No team has run the ball on Boyles Defense this year with any success, LC may do better with their balance , but I don't think Jones will get close to his average Friday night.

The game worries because it's become such a big rivalry game you can throw the records out the window, IMO if either team wins by two TD's or more I believe it will be Boyle I do think the team that wins will have to score 30+ points I don't see it as a defensive struggle at all.

Boyle has more balance on offense this year the days of French running the ball 70% of the time are over so if LC is expecting to load the box on every play to stop the run it won't work unless the knights have a terrible run defense then they may get a steady dose of the bone. So yes I would say Smith will practice passing the ball as much as running it this week.

IMO if you're looking for an explosive offense from Boyle this season it's not gonna happen I've already accepted the fact that it's gonna be a an efficient ball control type offense, and how can they have any rythem when the play caller on the sidelines dose'nt have any.

If Boyle controls the turnovers and penaltys I see them scoring 35 plus, and the way LC's defense has give up points this year I believe this to be more probable than possible After Madison Central scored 41 on them.

IMO the only team that the Knights have played that has a good defense is Bowling Green, all the other teams they have played has give up a lot of points in all the games they have played.I guess my point is the Knights only scored 14 on the purples, so for me it's hard to assess Their offense against the defensive competition they have played. In closing I think last years team was better than the 2014 version for LC.

I think Boyle's defense gives them a big edge in this game I can see Boyle scoring 35 to 45 points in this game on Catholic's defense' but I can't see Lex Cath scoring over 14 to 21 points on Boyle's defense, but it is a rivalry game anything can happen.

Thoughts and predictions.

Taylor had negative yards for the game until Boyle strarted putting in reserves in the 3 rd quarter and only had 2 first downs for the game. Boyle had around 500 yds of total offense for the game should have scored 50+ if not for turnovers. Boyle's defense looked good, and the offense is improving each game.

What I expected.

IMO French chose him as OC, and Smith left him as OC to avoid to much change on offense, and possibly Mason was the most qualified coach on the staff for the job. I've heard that Smith would like to have had Pardue back on the staff.

I agree we are all in it togather, but we all see things differently what you see as poor execution I may see as poor play calling for the situation. Sometimes we have to agree to disagree.

Purple Pride I'm sure Mason is a quality person,and I'm not attacking him personally, we all have opinions all I'm saying is he wouldn't be my first choice as OC.
