  1. I sure would like to have Chris back at Boyle as the OC.
  2. It's been a few years, but I've heard Chuck make the statement that he didn't like playing against friends who were coaches if memory serves me right it was in the advocate several times during his first tenure. You don't have to take my word for it just ask Chuck.
  3. smith has always had the outlook of not wanting to play friends who are coaches, This was common knowledge during his first tenure.
  4. IMO for the first time all season Boyle looked like a Chuck Smith coached team, they were strong on all phases of the game. His teams always look like a well oiled machine when playing his style football I hope this level of play continues the rest of the season.
  5. The game I watched last night the talent and athletes I saw were wearing Black it looks to me like Mercer's talent is way Down, I mean seriously Mercer only had one drive that they picked up more than one first down and with only 5 for the game I saw nothing that said they had more talent than Boyle.
  6. If that's the case I don't think Mercer will find a Genie in the bottle this year.
  7. I've got to ask what have you seen out of these two teams to make you pick Mercer 27 to 17 ?
  8. As Dandy Don use to say Turn Out The Lights The Party's Over for Mercer's playoff hopes.
  9. Good win for Boyle after the first loss of the season.
  10. Bosshog did comment on pulling the corners up as I did in a previous post and I know Boyle doesn't have corners athletic enough to play man, but I think the cushion can be a little tighter.
  11. OK does he not trust Masons play calling ability? As for me I think the passing game has worked fine this year when used it's just not been used enough. I don't think it's out of the question to see Pardue back at Boyle in the future I think Chris is a better OC than a head coach, and it wouldn't surprise me to see Mason retire before to long I've been told he has talked about it the last couple of seasons.
  12. When I mentioned moving the corners up I wasn't talking about playing man coverage, I know what kind of receivers LC has, but I think a 6 or 7 yard cushion is better than a 10 or 12 yard cushion. Like you say historically Smith has been great at adjustments the second time around let's hope that trend continues.
  13. I guess I'll take your word for it since you're on the sideline, but in Smith's first tenure he passed the ball around 40% of the time which is a lot different than whats going on now, Boyle has shown the ability to pass the ball this year with a very good QB and several capable recievers and IMO if they don't use the passing game more the rematch if it happens may have the same results. The wishbone offense was not designed to play catch up.
  14. You say he likes throwing more than running, since he became OC his stats say otherwise according to his stats he has run the ball about 65 to 70% of the time under French and Smith.
  15. I don't think their win over Cov cath means much I think by seasons end we'll find out Cov catch was over ranked to begin with. My vote is that Mayfield will be 1A state champs.
  16. Thanks for the info I wasn't aware that we had two lineman out.
  17. You don't have to have home run hitter's to have a ball control offense, but the passing game does work Mason showed it on the first drive IMO you have to have enough balance on offense to keep the defense honest or they will put 10 or 11 in the box like LC did against the bone and make it very hard to run the ball. LC'S OC spread us out and ran the ball down our throat Ryan's longest pass completion was 18 yds 98% of his passes were 8 yds or less, and there is no reason why we can't do the same thing if you think about it LC runs mainly a ball control offense Ryan only went deep a couple of times they throw the short 5 or 6 yard pass to the flat and let their receivers get what they can, and when our DB's are giving a 10 yard cushion it's simple pitch and catch for 7 or 8 yards on almost every play.Boyle has to tighten up the corners somewhat and rush 4 instead of 3 to sure up the run D and put more pressure on the QB that's my opinion any way, as you can see I don't blame Mason for all of Boyle's problems I just think it would help to have some kind of passing game to help keep the defense honest.
  18. He doesn't desereve all the blame the turnovers hurt us, and the officials didn't do us any favors plus their need to be defensive adjustments against a team like Lex Catch.I made a comment about play calling and it was blown out of proportion. IMO the play calling handicaps us because Mason wants to run the ball to much we need more balance like the first drive of the game.
  19. To set the record straight I don't hate Mason I just don't like his play calling, don't put words in my mouth.
  20. First of all I'm not attacking Mason's character I'm sure he's a first class guy, but Look guys it does not matter how much you defend his play calling there's a lot of people who doesn't like it and I'm sorry that upsets you but I have my opinion like everyone else. Now I'm done with this conversation.
  21. You know what they say PP about opinions, and we've had this discussion before I know Mason is your hero but just because you think he does no wrong doesn't mean we all have to like him. As far as the officiating goes if you agree with the silly penalties that were called, and agreed with them you were the only one on the BC sideline that did.
  22. LEX like you said the first drive for Boyle was great, but after that Mason went to the Bone, and stayed in it for almost the rest of the game even after being falling behind 19 to 3. I'm not impressed with his play calling at all I'm one of several who thinks he needs to e replaced as OC. I'd love to have Chris Pardue back as OC for Boyle.
